Blackmoor's POV
I pushed forward with both blades in hand—my wakizashi in my left and my jian in my right.
Isabel swung her kusarigama above her head before immediately throwing it straight at me.
Its initial path was easy to predict, so I dodged without much difficulty.
But I knew it was not over.
With Special Techniques—especially those from House Cyronis—weapons could be used in ways that should not have been possible.
And just as the fundō of the kusarigama passed behind me, it suddenly changed direction.
The chain beside me snapped toward my body, the weighted end guiding it in a way that threatened to wrap around my entire body. With no other choice, I was forced to duck.
Immediately, I found myself in a terrible position.
…I had underestimated her.
Holding back had almost made me lose.
Without realizing it, I had treated Isabel Cyronis as just another opponent.
So I decided to become a little more serious.
I pushed forward once more.
Again, Isabel threw her kusarigama, this time clearly aiming for my wrist.
I let it hit.
The weighted end wrapped around my arm—but only because my armor protected me from the impact.
At that moment, I activated the hidden forcefield attached to my armor for the first time.
The invisible barrier trapped the fundō in place before it could properly tighten around my wrist.
Then, using my own Special Technique, I sharpened the edge of my jian to an unnatural degree.
With one clean slash—
The pure steel chain of the kusarigama split apart like butter.
With my Special Technique still active, I immediately pushed forward.
I expected Isabel to finally draw her shortsword and meet me head-on.
Then I would cut through both her weapon and her defense in a single strike.
But to my surprise…
She did neither.
Instead, Isabel simply sat down on the arena floor and tossed her sword aside.
My eyes widened.
I barely managed to stop my blade above her head before I nearly split her in half.
For a moment, there was silence.
Then, by throwing away her weapon, Isabel yielded.
I let out a quiet sigh of relief.
At least I did not have to reveal anything more.
But that relief only lasted for a second.
As the speakers announced my victory throughout the arena, Isabel looked up at me with a knowing, almost conniving smile.
"Found you," she said quietly.
