Chapter 98 - My Group of Dogs

The number of people who surrounded him wasn't much, as it was just about ten people, including the guild master.

Four people, including the guildmaster, who were clearly not fighters, dressed so expensively and in the most gaudy manner, as if they were afraid that people wouldn't understand how high a status they were

Yes, the three people beside the guildmaster should be a group of nobles who worked together with the guildmaster to make money in this kingdom and beyond.

But the rest?

Each of them was a master; they were all fighters, combatants, masters of their own skills, who followed the guildmaster and three nobles to surround him.

'Why is it always like this?'

Even though Suzuki just wanted to complete the transaction in good faith, it seemed the world wouldn't let him.

"I don't know how you can disappear and appear like a ghost, yet as you are here, you shouldn't think that you can escape."

The fat guildmaster looked in the corner and smiled. "Among us, there is a rare barrier master. Two strong assassins are also sandwiching you with an archer aiming an arrow at the back of your skull. Behind us, there is an ice mage that will freeze you immediately when you move, and the one who sits by your side is a swordmaster.

"As long as you make a move, your limb will be gone."

Suzuki didn't say anything, and this made the fat guildmaster even happier. "I know that you are scared, but don't be. You have to tell us where the sources of your goods are, give them everything to us, return all of my money, and you can leave this world peacefully.

"Don't worry, I will give you a swift death that you won't even have to feel the pain."

Still, Suzuki didn't listen to the fat guildmaster, and as he knew the jobs of the six combatants around him, his focus was on the three nobles around the fat guildmaster.

"Hehehe... are you curious about them?"

The fat guildmaster felt a bit sorry for Suzuki's sorry fate, so he introduced the three. "They are the high nobles of this kingdom. Each of them is from a high status that you, a lowly commoner, won't even have a chance to meet, so you should be grateful that you can meet them in person."

"Don't bully him, guildmaster."

"Yeah, he is so pitiful."

"He is going to die anyway, so you should give him pity."

"Hahaha..." The fat guildmaster laughed. "Okay, okay. I won't tease you, but these esteemed guests are my patrons! They are my sponsors! Each of them is the greatest mind in the Heiligh Kingdom, with marquis, earl, and baron, respectively.

"Now, do you know why they are special? It isn't because of their noble status, but because of their jobs!

"They have the rare job of Orator, Synergist, and Muse, respectively! And, I also have an Appraiser as my job! Being taken down by all of us should be your greatest honor, boy!"

Suzuki didn't say anything and just kept listening as he realized there were so many people with unique jobs in this world. He knew that his reaction was weird, but most of the people that he encountered had only a "Commoner" as their job, and some lucky ones had either "Warrior," or "Peasants."

Still, this also confirmed that as long as one's job wasn't a "Commoner," "Slave," or "Peasant," one's life would be as good as settled.

'But...'

Muse?

Among all of the people on the ground, Suzuki's attention was definitely on the baron, the one with the lowest rank of the nobility among the group.

Yes, a baron was still a noble, yet even so, it was the lowest of all, so how could this guy become one of this group?

When he heard that the baron's job was a Muse, he somehow understood the reason. It was a rare, charm-related job that was definitely dangerous. From his deep appraisal and "Manager," he knew that the Muse had an ability to make people obsessed with the user.

A Muse doesn't fight; a Muse inspires others to fight for them, pushing targets far beyond their natural limits. This is the ultimate parasitic buffing class.

The only skill that he saw that was definitely buggy was "Zealous Devotion," an ability that made Muse able to give a target a permanent, massive multiplier boost to all of their stats by just showing affection, praise, or even just mild interest in a target.

But the buff comes with a psychological tether. The target becomes deeply, chemically addicted to the Muse's approval.

Yet this was also why, among all the people present, it seemed this baron was the one behind the scenes.

'No, there is one more.'

"Oh? Did you notice him?"

When Suzuki looked up, the fat guildmaster laughed. "Come down."

Suddenly, a figure dropped gracefully like a swan.

"This is our trump card. He has a rare job known as the Acrobat."

The fat guildmaster smiled proudly and asked, "So what do you think?"

"They are all good."

"Right? Don't worry. They're all professionals so that you can die peacefully, but before that, hurry up and tell me where you got everything—"

"But..." Suzuki stopped the fat guildmaster's words as he stared at him. "Under what assumption that I am weaker than all of you?"

"..." Everyone.

"Hahahahaha"

Everyone laughed at Suzuki's words.

"Do you think you can win against all of us?"

"You are so funny!"

"Let me cut you first."

Only in that moment, suddenly, they felt tremendous pressure, and everything within them drained instantly.

"W-What's happening?!"

"What did you do?!"

"ARGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!"

Suzuki ignored their reactions as he absorbed everything and drew their attention. Their stats, jobs, and skills. They were all taken, and at the same time, on his Absolute Storage, many land deeds, contracts, gold, and various other wealth that came from everyone entered his pocket as if a vacuum cleaner sucked them in.

"Stop! Stop! Stop!"

Everyone begged desperately, hoping for Suzuki to stop.

"Don't worry."

Yet, Suzuki only smiled softly at their pleas. "I will make everything painless, and I will take care of your wealth. You don't have to worry and just be my good dogs, okay?"

Unlike when he was with the minister, he didn't show mercy to anyone.

"I wonder why you are so greedy..."

Wasn't it good to make a normal business transaction with him?

If they had good faith, would he do this?

Then again, as he took away their everything, he simply made the combatants into babies, yet for those non-combatants, the four groups, who led this guild, he approached them, causing them to feel an intense terror as if an abyss was about to approach them.

"Go and woof for me, dogs."

"....." 4x

"W-Woof..." 4x

"Now, fetch all of your subordinates, and tell them that from now on, everything is mine."

Still, with this, all of his plans were set, but before that, there was something that he had to do, and that was to go to the dungeons and teach his girlfriend how to fight.
