The emblem for the Artifact Healers was emblazoned above the tall, double doors into a large sign of thick mahogany: A variation of the God of Nature's sigil; a cuidas bird with wings made of flowing ivy clutching a cylindrical vial in its talons.
And when they stepped inside, pushing the heavy doors apart, the mahogany didn't end there.
Even beneath the sharp scent of disinfectant and various medicinal herbs, the smell of rich wood was everywhere; from the beams that ran across the high ceilings to the wide stairs that led up to the floors above them.
Kai knew where the zehn came from to pay for such decadence. The healers, despite their aptitude and the speed at which they could cure almost any ailment, severely overcharged for their services. Times of turmoil, such as the aftermath of a minor earthquake, coupled with several corruption outbreaks inside of the city walls, would only add to their wealth.
