Chapter 161 - Chapter 162 The Capable Vice-Captain

"Let him try. If I don't beat the stuffing out of him, it'll only be because he's already empty."

"Ahem, watch your words. The Captain has a lot of fans. Be careful they don't dox you."

"It's fine. Everyone here is one of us, it doesn't matter."

"The Marvel world's inclusivity is so strong," the Wizard Makiya said with an envious look. "Over on my side, I can only follow the path of magic. Other powers can't be used at all."

"Magic is enough for you. Magic in a conceptual world is the most terrifying thing. As long as you have enough magical power, you can even make your heart's desires reality. I can't even use it here if I wanted to." NPC Makiya looked on with a hint of disdain. From a pure power perspective, the magic of the Harry Potter world might not seem like much, but that world had its own unique strengths and a very high theoretical ceiling.

"'Oblivion' is so cool," Soul Reaper Makiya said longingly. "The system on my side is also very exclusive. Other powers simply won't work."

"No worries, the Sword God you ordered has arrived!" Suddenly, a voice rang out from behind Soul Reaper Makiya.

Before he could turn around to see who was speaking, a hand patted Soul Reaper Makiya's shoulder. Immediately, a massive amount of swordsmanship skills flooded into his mind.

It was the Ghost Knight's class advancement from DNF: the Blade Master. The Magic Emperor boss had worked tirelessly to grind the Blade Master all the way to its second awakening: Sword God!

"Boss, you're the real MVP!" Having received the memories, Soul Reaper Makiya turned and grasped Magic Emperor Makiya's hands, his eyes brimming with tears.

If one were to rank all the Makiyas by their level of effort, the Magic Emperor boss would undoubtedly be number one. Every time he logged off from the mysterious space, he would pick a class that could help everyone and grind through the progression.

Does everyone who plays DNF have eight livers?

"Keep it low-key, low-key!" Magic Emperor Makiya said with a smile as he looked at everyone, clearly enjoying being surrounded by their admiring gazes.

Furthermore, grinding levels wasn't difficult for him. After all, he was retracing familiar paths and fighting monsters he had beaten repeatedly. He had long since memorized every weakness and mechanic.

"I'm only strong in the early stages. For the late game, I'll have to rely on you guys," Magic Emperor Makiya said seriously. "I feel like with my own talent, grinding various classes to their second awakening is my limit. Moving any further will be difficult. I'll have to rely on the collective strength shared by everyone to push through."

Magic Emperor Makiya found his chair and sat down. "So, I'm trying to train as many classes as possible. My current goal is to get every class to its second awakening to enrich everyone's abilities and skill systems. If you guys get stronger faster, I benefit too, don't I?"

"Boss, you really understand the concept of the first to get strong leading the rest to follow!" Marvel Makiya nodded deeply in agreement. It was precisely because of the rich skill library contributed by the Magic Emperor boss that he could manage his 'cash cows' and spread his influence so effectively.

Of course, the contribution of the Erotica boss couldn't be ignored either. Without the contract of the God of Demons, everything would be for naught.

Everyone knew in their hearts that relying on themselves was the ultimate way out. While they were different individuals derived from the same person, their fates were closely linked; they rose and fell together.

"Your Zanpakuto has great potential. Whether I can achieve a third awakening in the future and crush the various end-game bosses depends on you," Magic Emperor Makiya said, patting Soul Reaper Makiya's shoulder.

"What about me? What about me? My side isn't bad either!" Marvel Makiya leaned in.

"You should focus on how to deal with Thanos first," Hacker Makiya interjected. "I've sorted through your memories, and the timeline doesn't match the movies we saw in our past lives. In short, your world definitely isn't just the Cinematic Universe. Be careful it's not Comic Thanos or Comic Ultron."

"True." Marvel Makiya nodded. "I still need to be cautious and set up a few more personas to scout the situation."

"Just a purple raisin, that's all." Tabby Cat Makiya pulled an electronic cigarette from behind his haunches, took a puff, and then exhaled slowly with a look of bliss. "If Thanos comes to my world, see if I don't knead him into a purple potato ball."

"Boss, your world is different. Let's not talk about those outside the norms."

The group chatted enthusiastically, eating food and drinking beverages provided by Tabby Cat Makiya, feeling quite comfortable.

Soul Reaper Makiya sat on a stool, his mind constantly replaying the various skills shared by Magic Emperor Makiya.

Although the power system of the DNF world couldn't be fully manifested in the Soul Society, many skills were compatible. The Magic Emperor boss hadn't actually had it as easy as he let on; the DNF world wasn't a real game where you just clicked a mouse to learn skills once you reached a certain level.

The Magic Emperor boss had truly internalised the way of the sword. Every move and stance originated from countless swings in the dead of night. Even if he didn't have much natural talent for swordsmanship, he had still successfully pushed the Blade Master class to the level of second awakening.

Tears! Thank you, Boss Magic Emperor!

As his strength increased step by step, the sword techniques provided by Wuxia World Makiya were no longer enough. To Makiya, the so-called 'Way of the Sword' was simply using skills through a blade, and the energy in low-power martial arts worlds was limited. It was normal for those techniques to gradually fall behind.

The Soul Society also had its own swordsmanship, but the slashes there were more like simple swings, at most incorporating Spiritual Pressure release techniques. As long as your Spiritual Pressure was strong, your speed and power would be faster than the opponent's, leading to a crushing victory.

But the waters in the Soul Society were very deep. The Quincies and Arrancars wouldn't just compare Spiritual Pressure; they utilized two other distinct systems. Simple sword swings were somewhat insufficient for high-end combat.

Soul Reaper Makiya was training himself, but Magic Emperor Makiya had allowed him to take a massive shortcut!

Soul Reaper Makiya sighed inwardly. The Magic Emperor boss had previously trained as a female Slayer as well. Compared to the other four classes of the male Slayer, the female Slayer's swordsmanship was more focused on the Way of the Sword. Aside from the Asura and the Blade Master, the other three male Slayer classes focused more on utilizing the Ghost Arm and Ghost Gods, so those systems could only serve as references.

However, the Magic Emperor's female Slayer levels weren't high. After the first awakening, progress had stalled. The reason for this was that the Magic Emperor boss was too dignified—or rather, too straight-laced.

A female Slayer, as the name implied, naturally used a woman's body.

From the Magic Emperor's memories, it was clear that he had been constantly restraining himself during training, trying not to develop strange desires to explore his own body, which seriously hindered his progress.

Shame was one thing, but being watched by his other selves made it even more humiliating, so he resolutely refused to do certain things.

"Everyone, I'm heading out first." After saying goodbye to the group, Soul Reaper Makiya stood up and walked back through the portal.

The Soul Society!

Seireitei, Second Division Barracks!

The current Second Division was completely revitalized. With the continuous recruitment from the Shin'o Academy over the years, Makiya had gradually filled up the entire division. The barracks, which had been empty after Yoruichi's departure, had regained their liveliness.

Above the main gate of the Second Division, the Pulsatilla flower insignia of the division glowed brilliantly, serving as a constant reminder that the Second Division had a new master.

But as the Captain of the Second Division, Makiya expressed that he wanted to learn from the highly respected seniors, specifically Shunsui Kyoraku of the Eighth Division and Jushiro Ukitake of the Thirteenth Division.

The seniors were very satisfied with the newcomer's humble attitude. As long as Makiya didn't ask them for a spar, everything was negotiable.

Especially in recent years, Makiya's strength had grown rapidly. Every spar left Shunsui Kyoraku complaining that he couldn't take it anymore, claiming his heart and strength had suffered a severe blow. He would insist that he could no longer handle his duties as a Captain and needed six months of affection from the ladies at the entertainment district to recover.

Makiya had finally witnessed just how much of a slacker Shunsui Kyoraku could be. This guy dared to slack off openly right in front of the Head Captain, seemingly unafraid of being cut down by Ryujin Jakka.

As for Jushiro Ukitake, after Makiya had persistently worn him down for one spar, their matches had ended there. Ukitake was already plagued by chronic illness; he worried that if they sparred a few more times, he would eventually drop dead in front of Makiya.

Makiya didn't dare to ask Ukitake for any more spars either. The man would cough up blood just from walking; it was truly frightening to watch. The one spar had only been a pretense to secretly siphon some of his Spiritual Pressure and the Spiritual Pressure of the Soul King's arm.

Faced with Makiya's humble inquiries, the two workplace seniors shared everything they knew, talking in long, rambling discourses.

Makiya listened until his head was spinning, but combined with his own shallow experience in slacking off, he finally summarized it into one sentence: Find a 'capable' Vice-Captain!

"Soi Fon is certainly capable, but I wonder if she's... *capable*," Makiya followed up quickly. "Captain Kyoraku, how exactly do you trick—I mean, convince a Vice-Captain to take on more work without getting beaten up by her?"

"Wait a second." Shunsui Kyoraku went silent for a moment, a subtle expression appearing on his face. "What exactly did you mean by that first 'capable'?"

"Ah? Did I say that?"

"You did."

"I didn't, did I? You must have misheard!"

"Shunsui didn't hear wrong." Jushiro Ukitake poked his head over. "I heard it too. Heard it with both ears."

"Captain Ukitake, how do you think the weather is today?" Makiya asked, pointing at the cloudless, deep blue sky.

"It's great. Very nice weather, very comfortable." Ukitake was a bit confused, not understanding why Makiya had suddenly pivoted to the weather.

"The weather really is nice." Makiya drew out his words, a meaningful smile on his face. "This kind of weather is perfect for a spar. Based on my long experience entering 'Mugen', the atmosphere inside would be very comfortable in this weather. Captain Ukitake, you haven't experienced it yet, have you? Come, let's go..."

As he spoke, Makiya started pulling the dazed Ukitake away.

"Hey, wait, what's going on?" Ukitake was dragged for a distance before he suddenly snapped out of it and shouted, "I didn't hear it! I didn't hear anything!"

"What a leisurely life."

Shunsui Kyoraku watched this scene with a peaceful smile. He knew Makiya was joking, and Ukitake was playing along. The three of them had become fast friends through their shared love of slacking off.

However, according to the Law of Conservation of Labor, whenever someone is enjoying themselves, there must be one or more unlucky souls bearing the heavy burden and pressure on their behalf.

While the three Captains were drinking and chatting, three Vice-Captains were currently sitting in their respective Captains' offices, processing mountains of documents and work, their resentment reaching the heavens.

The drinking and chatting lasted until late at night. When Makiya had dispelled his buzz and was casually returning to the Captain's quarters, he sensed from a distance a certain short 'A-cup' concealing her presence behind the door, waiting for an opportunity to ambush him.

A smile played at the corners of his lips. Makiya pretended not to notice and pushed the door open to enter the quarters as usual.

At that moment, Soi Fon, dressed in her Onmitsukido uniform, suddenly leaped out from a corner, dense Shunko power swirling around her legs.

"Take this!"
