Chapter 94 - 94: A female fit for a tyrant

When the sky blackened, another Lunatic appeared, falling on the ground like a drop of ink.

"Tami. Finally I see you again."

"Good evening, sister."

Tami had frail black clothing, a thick wolf cut and a book dripping of a black water. The book did not seem to be damaged by it.

"You're still wearing this. It's whatever. I've called you to watch them over. Don't let them run into the castle."

"For such a reason, you've disrupted my comfort?"

"What were you even doing, up there? Talking wirh Esia?"

"Yes. I have. She's the leader."

" God is. You praise femininity too much, you forget to worship God. Esia is not the leader nor the guide. She's the strongest of all of us. That's it. Considering what we are, this is by no means a brag."

"Esia took down Mars twice."

"Spare me the lore, Tami. She's vital for our growth and well-being."

"She gets her orders from God. Not from you, not from me, not from herself."

"Watch your words, Cankt. I could talk with you or to you."

"Anyway. Stay here and hold them off."

"Death?"

"Allowed."

"An easy job, then."

Cankt grabbed June by the hand, dragging her to he castle gates, at the entrance she spoke a few words.

"Tami kills people by talking to them. It's just that easy for him. You need to join the Triad, we need balance."

"But we need Anaïs, don't we?"

"Normally yes, but here we'll just do without. Anaïs isn't responsive as of now, because Ismael went so hard recently, creating another circle to keep coming back at a further checkpoint in Perseus. That drained her energy, she's down."

The girl felt frustration bigger than usual.

"Don't we just need a yes from her?"

"Wouldn't be so easy. We'll do it in the same room as Bringer and Ismael, at the same time. God loves order, not chaos. Nd equilibrium is of his many natural and inherent virtues."

"Then let's not waste any time."

"As expected, the thirst for power and the total lack of patience is insane. She's out of her mind, but no normal human can simply picture what it really means to be of the Triad."

They got in, while Tami stared into the souls of the people at the courtyard.

"Cankt, when it happens...is it a painful process."

"She can show a bit of humanity despite her hunger for control. Little June...maybe I am the monster here."

"Worry not, it's a simple process. You just have to let the Triad's power presence slither inside of you."

Cankt held June, covering her mouth and throwing them both in a room full of archives and very old paperwork. June was flailing her arms around like a sick patient gasping for air, finally managing to get Cankt's hand off her mouth.

"What is it?"

"We didn't call this one."

"Who is it? A Lunatic again?"

"Unfortunately yes. I'll admit I've called Konstantin and Tami, but as violent as they can be, I trust them. I don't trust this one, not one bit."

"She became a Lunatic so long ago that she forgot her identity. Technically she can still perform and obey God's orders, which is why he's keeping her within the ranks. But she shouldn't be here."

"Well what's her problem?"

"She's possessed. By something ncient and evil. Something we don't even know the nature of. The black circles around her dead eyes, the white robe tainted and nasty. A hundred percent it's her."

"Then what do we do?"

"We stay here. If she sees us it'll be a problem for the ages to come. Back at the High Castle she's kept in an entirely seperate complex. June. Cover your ears."

"What?"

"She's going to start screaming in a different language, and it is the creepiest thing anyone can listen to. Especially as a human."

"It can't be that bad."

Beyond the door, the girl spoke a few words under her breath, a collage of incomprehensible vernacular thrown at them.

The drought in her voice, the cold aura around her spreading into the castle like a sudden harsh winter.

She had sneakers on her feet, contrasting the old white dress and overall timed outfit.

Her voice closed in, started banging at thr door while asking something in a language even Cankt could not decipher. A dialect so lost in time that Kanna herself needed to scream it at herself to remember the words.

Cankt opens the door, letting her in.

"Kanna. Please stop scaring my friend. She's a normal human girl, you're doing too much again and you're not supposed to be here."

Kanna passed the door and instantly locked eyes with June, letting her in. In her world of madness, the eyes that could break walls and kill people.

It's one thing for a human to stare into the formless monster, the rancid beast, the crawling demon, but human eyes? A human will identify with it, creating an instant connection with the being.

Deep, shiny black eyes and a staggering, obvious domination over her.

"You think...you think I'm scared because your face is all messed up?"

Kanna stepped towards her and she realized how deeply gone the Lunatic was. A human moving but another thing talking through her.

It was already too much for her.

"I am Him. Him in flesh."

June understood the implication of that statement, the decaying nature she incarnated at all times. She softly releases herself from Cankt's protective arms and reached out to Kanna, holding her face in her hands.

"You're getting exorcised once I ascend."

"This isn't stupid bravery, she's actually being courageous right now. She's growing fast."

Kanna left and was not seen anywhere again.

"You managed to scoot her away."

"Not that hard. If she's possessed, talking to her won't do it, it'll create coginitive dissonance. Both physical, as in neurological, and spiritual. So you talk to the one inside her and suddenly he feels fear."
