"She was going to kill the both of you! Destroy you! How was I supposed to let that happen!?" Iazel asked furiously," How could I let you go again?"
"As easily as you did the first time. But enough of this, you made a vow, you will keep it, or she will get herself and me destroyed tommorow." Bans told him everything.
"How am I to do that? I have read her thoughts throughout the day, all filled with terror, confusion and rage. She would rather die, as I've seen, than have anything to do with me."
"That, is a problem you have to solve or watch me end, permanently this time."
"You bargain with your existence like it is dirt," Iazel appeared right infront of her," You, are my Companion. Why are you doing this? I am sorry. For it all."
His eyes were soft and so remorseful but Bans remained stone cold to his plea.
That did not mean she'd not offer a way.
"You seek forgiveness? If Sarah forgives you, I do." She said softly.
"You cannot expect me to entertain a mortal, vow or otherwise. Nobody matters to me. None but you. I vowed it but I hate it. I did it to save you, not her. She is not you!" He shouted and cracks of darkness appeared all over the space.
Bans sighed heavily and reached for her headress, pulling it back and looking him in the eyes. A stillness settled around the space around them, as if something was holding its breath. The tension was cold and serious, filled with words and thoughts centuries could not cover.
The form she wore, in its hastly and mortifying beauty, was her willed choice. Yet now, as she looked into his eyes seeing the arrogant coldness that had replaced the naivety and mirth from so long ago, she knew he needed to know the truth, no matter how hard.
As if touched by water from the fountain of youth, her skin and face grow fresher, tighter and more alive. Vibrancy and life crept along her flesh and her visage of terror faded away. Class became fingers, hollow sockets gained orbs of vision and her figure gained a shape that wasn't like a cadaver.
"Do you not see Iazel?" She said to him with a sad smile on pink lips.
Her hair was a fertile brown.
Her eyes a vibrant bronze.
She had a face they both remembered well.
Sarah's face.
"We are one and the same."
The world shattered and he faded away as everything returned to still darkness and silence.
