This was how Sheeta was rescued.
Nagini first ran over and gave the little girl's hand a simple splint; then, she let her and Baru tightly embrace—under the teasing looks of Mori Tsukisa's group, Baru ruffled the girl's hair and secretly glanced at his older sister, who was winking at him.
'You like her.'
'No, I don't!'
Mori Tsukisa smiled: 'Your personality is very suitable for being a god of Ancient Egypt, Little Baru.'
Bastet:...The reunited Boy and girl had countless things to say, but right now, they didn't have much time for the two of them to talk romance.
Sheeta pushed Baru away and looked anxiously at the crowd: "Muska is a descendant of the Children of the Wind, and I am the Queen. He wants to activate Laputa's firepower system to rule the World—"
The girl tried to briefly explain the conversation she had with Muska on the ship, preparing explanations in case Mori Tsukisa and the others didn't understand.
For example: why she was the Queen, how Laputa could rule the World, and so on.
But the people in front of her seemed to have no... questions. Instead, they all wore an 'I knew it' expression, their eyes focused entirely on the muscular bald man.
"We know, Sheeta." Mori Tsukisa pulled a small cloth bag from her waist. "But there's something important to do now."
The dusty cloth bag was tied with a golden bow, clearly Nagini's handiwork. Baru felt the soft bag; something rustled inside.
"Don't crush it." Mori Tsukisa untied the opening and let Baru take a look.
It was a bag of seeds.
"Rose Seeds?!" Baru slapped his head in annoyance. "I forgot! Older sister, you remembered! Father and that Little Prince promised!"
...Of course, Mori Tsukisa had been thinking about this. Ruling the World was nowhere near as interesting as planting roses.
On the plaza's lawn, which was right next to the outer ring of the Main Fortress Core, standing on the edge, they could see the huge airship in the distance and lines of Soldiers. They were laboriously hauling large and small boxes of gold and silver onto the airship.
"It doesn't matter, Your Majesty the Queen," Arrietty whispered, perched on Mori Tsukisa's shoulder. "The airship will be ours."
Bastet knew it. Since the beginning, this greedy Bandit Sprite had ignored the Soldiers 'moving house like ants.' Sure enough, she was waiting for this moment.
Imhotep found a Small Shovel for Baru. After loosening the soil, Baru scattered the bag of seeds, which had been soaked in warm Water, sparsely in a circle. Finally, he covered them with a thin layer of soil.
Arrietty shook her head. "Hardly any plants will survive this way."
"That was his father's wish." Nagini looked at the Boy, who was sweating profusely but still highly enthusiastic, and understood his actions. "Whether they live or not... is not the most important thing."
"Oh, you know everything again." The Little Sprite snorted in dissatisfaction. "Do you think I didn't know it was his father's wish?"
"Then why did you ask?"
"I didn't ask you at all! You eagerly jumped in to answer me!"
"If you hadn't brought up this 'Consequentialism' stuff first, I wouldn't have acknowledged you, my dear Arrietty." Nagini turned her head and smiled. "The Sprite Race is indeed a 'pragmatic' race. You must find it hard to understand practices like 'Offering Respects,' right? After all, the person is dead, so why clean up their so-called 'Tomb'? The remains aren't even there."
"Even after following the Master for so long, it hasn't taught you empathy and understanding."
Arrietty choked up, unable to think of a retort, and looked to Mori Tsukisa for help.
Mori Tsukisa shook her head. "I don't understand it either, Nagini."
"Precisely because the Master doesn't," the Little Maid continued righteously, "the Attendants should possess what the Master lacks. Otherwise, why continuously consume Spell Power to maintain our existence—"
"If it's just slaughter and War, the Master does it much better than us herself."
Imhotep and Anck-Su-Namun, these two future Attendants, pricked up their ears. They had planned to eavesdrop and figure out how to accurately find their place under Mori Tsukisa in the future—but found that the whole conversation was just sniping.
This Miss Maid of Mori Tsukisa was clearly picking a fight, yet she made it impossible for anyone to argue: after all, she was standing on the side of 'correctness.'
Arrietty puffed out her cheeks angrily, while Mori Tsukisa stood nearby, laughing heartily without any decorum.
"Bootlicker!"
That was about as harsh as the Little Sprite's insults got... After the seeds were scattered, Baru visibly sighed in relief. He had completed almost all of his father's instructions, and while the stone in his heart was lifted, he felt lost.
Now, I am finished.
What next?
What should I do?
"You can make pursuing Sheeta your new goal." Mori Tsukisa sidled over slyly, tugging Baru's sleeve. "I heard from my Attendant that the girl is very brave. Don't you like her?"
"We are friends!"
"Oh... no wonder she just told me she likes someone. That wouldn't be you, would it?" The girl feigned confusion, pulled a Lollipop from her small handbag, and after tearing open the wrapper... the Grape Flavor candy was shaped like a Ship, with the word 'titanic' delicately carved onto the exquisite hull.
"Who does she like?!" Baru's eyebrows nearly stood up. He grabbed Mori Tsukisa's arm, wanting to shout, but secretly looked at Sheeta, who looked serious ahead, and lowered his voice: "Older sister! Who did she say she likes?!"
Mori Tsukisa licked the titanic's Smokestack, her small teeth biting off the Mast, chewing carelessly.
"I heard..." She rolled her eyes, "...it's an Apprentice at a Ready-made Clothing Store."
"Inheriting his father's Clothing Store, good prospects; located on a busy street, no worries about food or clothing; a gentle person who cares for others, comfortable and harmonious after marriage; and most importantly—Sheeta likes him, so that's fine, right? Little Baru, Sheeta's 'friend'?"
"No way!" Baru blurted out.
"No way... I... she'll be deceived!"
"Don't worry, you have me." Mori Tsukisa patted herself, taking full responsibility. "You've seen how powerful Nagini is, right? If he treats Sheeta badly, I'll have Nagini eat him."
"Relax, Baru, Sheeta will definitely invite you to the Wedding."
"After all, you two are 'good friends'."
Baru deflated completely. The crestfallen Boy didn't see the people silently laughing behind him—yes, almost everyone was grinning, looking at each other and smiling.
The romance of young Children is beautiful. Imhotep looked at him and felt as if he saw his past self and Anck-Su-Namun.
"It's still unacceptable!" Baru suddenly looked up, glaring at Mori Tsukisa. "What's his name! I need to know clearly! Older sister is crazy; she can't judge people accurately. I've met many men in the mine. I'm going to go see that clothing... Tailor!"
Mori Tsukisa subtly curled her lip. For Sheeta, he was even willing to call his own older sister a 'crazy person.'
Bastet: What's the problem? Only this sentence is on point.
"Him?" The girl tapped the corner of her mouth, making a thinking gesture. "Sheeta seemed to say he's a man called—'Honekawa Suneo'? I think so, anyway. You should ask her yourself."
Before she could finish, Baru ran forward with a thud-thud-thud, heading straight for Sheeta at the front.
