Aurelian looked over the growing map of the Crownward March.
"That solves a problem before it becomes serious."
"Yes," Eirenne said.
She paused for a moment before adding, "It also means I would not have to choose as often between detailed analysis and immediate coordination."
That mattered more than she made it sound.
Eirenne had never complained about how much work she handled, but that did not mean the work was small.
The March was growing quickly, and every new station, route, settlement, fleet group, and supply line gave her more information to process.
Aurelian looked at the station data again.
"What do you need before connecting safely?"
"The long-range relay should be repaired first," Eirenne said. "After that, I want Meridian to inspect the cognition matrix in person before we make any permanent connection."
"Good."
Rhoswen looked between them.
"You two agree too often."
Astra answered without looking at her.
"That is because caution is useful."
"Sometimes."
