Chapter 101 - Chapter 101: The Soul King Ascends to Heaven

Chapter 101: The Soul King Ascends to Heaven

The descent of the infant angels into the world bubbles served a purpose far greater than merely acting as mediums for Mo Yu's gaze. They were the physical bridge between Heaven and the mortal realm.

In other words, they were Heaven Media's true "contact information" and "venue location."

In one specific world bubble, a blurry silhouette of light—invisible to mortals—followed the link of an infant angel, soaring upward. It pierced through layer after layer of world barriers and finally arrived at the magnificent, holy mountain of light.

The blurry light shifted form, taking on a vaguely human shape. Though its features were indistinct, it possessed a natural majesty and divinity. It was the Soul King of that particular world bubble. Of course, this was not His main body, but an avatar; however, to one possessing supreme authority, the difference was negligible.

He stood upon the Holy Mountain, pausing for a moment as if adjusting to the environment. The eyes that could peer into the past and future of myriad phenomena had lost their meaning here. What He saw now was no different from a mortal's vision. This realization told Him that He had left the world that birthed Him and arrived in the domain of another Supreme Being!

The Soul King felt a slight chill in His heart. In the domain of another, He felt like a mortal, yet when that being from "beyond the world" had entered His own realm, His authority remained vast. The gap was laid bare.

But He didn't dwell on it. Being from "Beyond the World" was enough of an explanation. The Soul King had long known how terrifying the environment outside a world was—a boundless, unpredictable, and deep eternal chaos that no perception could truly grasp. Compared to that chaos, a Soul King was infinitely small. To know that a being could traverse that chaos was to know His greatness.

Driven by a sense of curiosity He hadn't felt in eons, the Soul King began to look around.

The Mountain of Heaven was a traditional theological construct. It consisted of a plain so flat it lacked even a single bump, and a conical mountain so perfect it looked sculpted. The entire paradise possessed a geometric aesthetic, which, combined with the rays of holy light weaving through the air, looked profoundly sacred.

Flowers bloomed on the plains, beautiful but few in species. There were buildings on the mountain, but only a few lonely structures, making the place feel vast and solitary. The Soul King got the impression that this Lord from beyond was a fan of minimalist, Zen-like interior design. More importantly, He sensed zero malice or "evil qi" in Heaven, which satisfied Him most.

In Heaven, the Soul King's omnipotent authorities were void. He stepped forward clumsily, walking toward the summit one step at a time. Rays of holy light converged beneath His feet, forming a staircase to the highest point—the Lord's invitation!

Soon, infant angels fluttered over, playing various instruments, singing and dancing in welcome. The Soul King watched them; here, they were only the size of a human head and looked quite adorable. But He hadn't forgotten that once they entered a world bubble, they became mountain-sized titans with hundred-meter wings.

He didn't underestimate them, but He was curious: why were their welcoming songs so... hot-blooded? Listening to their music, the Soul King felt a bizarre urge to rush out and punch someone.

The King didn't ask, and the angels wouldn't have known how to answer anyway. After all, God's music playlist was filled with high-tempo, "macho" tracks, and the angels just followed the rhythm!

At the summit, a towering and solemn hall wreathed in infinite light came into view. Inside, aside from a massive throne, the room was empty. This scenery made the Soul King feel a sense of home; His own palace for a million years had shared this same minimalist style.

"Soul King, welcome. Don't be formal. Sit anywhere you like... make yourself at home."

A deep, majestic whisper echoed through the hall!

The Soul King was startled. He looked left and right—He wanted to sit, but the problem was there was only one chair in the whole place. He addressed the empty throne:

"Supreme One from beyond the world, thank you for your hospitality. But forgive my intrusion; I currently possess no authority and cannot witness Your presence. I implore a meeting."

"Ah, sorry. Just a second..."

In the next moment, the hall vibrated. It was as if an invisible hand had lifted the roof, revealing a crystal-blue sky. Sunlight poured in, then vanished, replaced by an infinitely large "face" appearing in the heavens.

The Soul King looked up and His heart trembled. The "face," wreathed in holy light, had blurred features that shifted every second. Just gazing at it induced an unnamable sense of distortion. No matter how long one looked, it couldn't be recognized or remembered. In fact, the longer He stared, the more He felt His mind being washed away, submerged, and destroyed by the sheer volume of information that face expressed.

Only the pair of eyes looking down upon all things remained clear, condensing a supreme, divine majesty!

Sitting at his computer, Mo Yu had specifically dug out his dusty webcam to "show his face" as a sign of respect. However, perhaps due to the camera's quality or the signal transmission from the 3D world to the Silver Sea, He noticed the Soul King grew more nervous after seeing Him. He had no idea what the King was actually seeing.

Mo Yu spoke: "In World 0, I also held the status of the Soul King. You can just think of me as a parallel version of yourself. No need to be tense. That big chair in front of you is a guest chair; feel free to sit. I can't sit in it anyway."

The Soul King managed a smile, but his tension didn't fade. He had a suspicion: this being might be even greater than He imagined, for He wasn't even inside Heaven—He was looking down from a dimension higher and further away through Heaven as a medium.

"You can become the World, but the World cannot become You. Supreme One... I wish to discuss the future of our worlds."

As a being born of the world, the Soul King was direct. The "face" in the sky laughed, appreciating the style.

"Excellent. Here is my plan: First, sign a binding acquisition contract. Your world becomes an exclusive filming location for Heaven Media. Second, form a consultative body to discuss matters post-acquisition. Third, pool resources to renovate the worlds and bring them under a unified order..."

If this were a mortal business meeting, the talk would have ended there—acquisition was a non-negotiable premise. But for the Soul King, this was not an issue. Coming to Heaven already represented His intent. He spoke decisively:

"Being acquired by Heaven Media is no problem. However, my world has suffered extensive structural damage. The 'Tribulation of Emptiness' You mentioned already fills my realm."

Mo Yu asked: "Was this before or after the collision?"

The Soul King gave a bitter smile. "It existed before, but it was manageable. After the collision, it became dire."

Mo Yu wasn't surprised. A world bubble with a conscious Soul King was likely an "old" one in the Silver Sea, having weathered many storms. Damage was normal, and the multi-vehicle crash only accelerated the decay.

"As long as it hasn't disintegrated yet, it's controllable. I have a proven, mature solution. I've even filmed it into a movie."

The Soul King nodded. "The Three Worlds Wandering Ark plan? That is why I am here. Also... I am curious to see if the Ichigo Kurosaki in your second movie can truly achieve that miracle."

The Soul King's tone held a hint of expectant laughter. Though not a blood relative, in the laws of the world, Ichigo was as much a son of the World as Yhwach was. A transcendent born with all the world's power wasn't something Aizen could just brew in a lab; it required the push of the World itself.

"No rush. I don't think now is the right time to release the second movie. It might cause the viewers' potential and paths to converge too early..."

Mo Yu didn't play movies just for entertainment. They were demonstrations of his "Path" and "Order." Since the first movie had already brought the worlds to his door, he had to consider the timing of the sequel.

The second movie was the peak display of Purity: Apocalypse and Genesis in one breath, characters evolving manically to punch a New World into existence, and Ichigo reaching a realm where he could do anything.

But looking back, that movie was a bit rushed. Aside from Ichigo, were the paths of the others truly perfect? If they had more possibilities, would the New World they created have more room for refinement? Mo Yu wanted twenty-six worlds with unique "personalities" and "styles," not twenty-six identical "plastic surgery" faces that all said "Ke-ke-ke" in unison.

"Of course, for you, it's different. Once the consultative body is formed, you can have 'Early Access' to view the movie and consider your own path..."

Mo Yu decided to give the Soul King a break. The King had potential, but Mo Yu's "New World Plan" was more important. The "Soul King" role as a linchpin must be abolished. Mo Yu wanted the King to see the movie so He would know the... Fate... He had to face.

The Soul King agreed and asked about the consultative body.

Mo Yu explained: Twenty-six seats for twenty-six bubbles (with room to expand). Seat-holders would be treated as Heaven Media employees, discussing and voting on all world planning. World 0, under direct Heaven Media jurisdiction, would hold a seat with veto power and a periodic "Enforcement Vote" to pass motions regardless of the tally.

It was essentially a variation of the "Ascension System" common in web novels: the strongest ascend to the upper realm's order, while the lower realms become supplements. Or a variation of classical feudalism.

It wasn't perfect, but Mo Yu didn't care. He would start it up and adjust on the fly. If there were major problems, his fists were hard enough to rebuild everything from scratch.

The Soul King accepted the invitation. Mo Yu decided the first meeting would be in two days, held in World 0. After talking for a while longer, the Soul King watched the second movie via a private screening and then left in a daze.

In His own world bubble, the Soul King—sealed in amber for a million years—moved for the first time. He shattered His amber prison and sent out a transmission:

"Zero Division... come to Me."

The Monk and the Zero Division arrived, kneeling with fanatical devotion. In this bubble, the betrayal of the Nobles had been a deliberate indulgence by the King; the Monk had always been His personal guard.

"Greetings, Your Majesty..."

The Monk noticed the King seemed a bit "out of it" after breaking His seal, but dared not speak.

"The world is vast indeed," the Soul King said. "There are certain fates I must face. In three days, I will go to another world for a conference that will decide the fate of all worlds. I wish to summon Yamamoto, Aizen, and Ichigo Kurosaki. I will take them with Me."

The Monk was grave but nodded. Then the King paused and spoke with a complex tone:

"And Monk... when you have time, you need to train more. If you can't improve your strength, at least act more 'potent' like the people in the movie. Get a 'macho' catchphrase, add more exclamation points to your speech, and punch things when you're undecided. My 'face' often depends on the conduct of My agents... you need to be more POTENT..."

The Monk didn't understand, but he obeyed.
