I stepped out of my bedroom and reported to Vegeta. I wouldn't dare call that man father.
"King Vegeta," I said.
"You called me?" he asked.
"Yes, son. It is time for you to become a real Saiyan. Your first mission is to terminate all life on Planet Rokust—and then destroy it."
"May I ask for a proper evaluation?"
"Tch." He grunted and turned his head. "What's the report, Clara?"
"All creatures appear to have a power level of at least 2,000," she replied. "If I'm not mistaken, the ruler of the planet spiked to at least 7,000 when the last squad was sent."
King Vegeta faced me again. "You heard her. You'll be going alone. Take whatever armor you need."
"Yes, King Vegeta."
I left the chamber and headed straight for my room, grabbing my scouter on the way out.
Beep. Beep.
6,801.
I made my way to Station 001, a pod designed just for me. I could already imagine the surveillance systems bugged to hell—just to make sure I didn't run off. Typical.
Why did it feel like I was forgetting something?
I tried to remember. Earth? Planet Vegeta? Nothing came. All I could feel were the days ahead of me.
I climbed into the pod, locked in the coordinates for Planet Rokust, and launched.
This will be fun, I thought. I haven't had a proper challenge in years.
Traveling through the galaxy was just as I remembered—beautiful at first, then slowly dull and suffocating. The pod was too small to even stand in.
Maybe I'll meditate, I thought. Like those fools in the old books.
I imagined myself floating in a vast green body of water—calm, endless, giving me whatever I needed.
Flow. Be water.
Either crash… or adapt.
Become water, Vegeta.
Three days later
I opened my eyes.
Wow. That actually worked.
Not only did I feel renewed, but I realized I hadn't slept this well in years. Maybe this mission was more of a blessing than a curse.
Then a memory surfaced.
Before Dodoria dragged me from my room, I had seen a green-haired child walk past me—terrified.
Don't tell me… Broly.
I hoped I wasn't too late when I returned.
If I helped them, it would be only for Broly. I couldn't care less about his father. I dont remember the timelines clearly, but Broly's power should be around 10,000 by now.
If I approached them directly, they'd think I was a spy. Paragus would simply command Broly to kill me.
Heh.
I'd send help first. Allies. Then I'd appear as the "good guy."
The crowned prince just happening to pass by as a father and son are rescued. Perfect.
The Super Legendary Saiyan would be mine as an ally.
Paragus was too strong for me to deal with right now—so that agenda could wait. All I needed was to keep them from being purged.
As I worked through the plan, an orange planet filled my view.
That must be it.
Suddenly—
"—DODGE!"
I grabbed the controls as thousands of ki blasts rained down. BOOM! One clipped the right side of the pod.
I couldn't let those hit again.
Wait… is that possible?
I wrapped my ki around the pod—and that's when I felt it.
He's here.
The ruler of the planet.
I slowed the pod as much as I could, maintaining the ki shield until I landed.
The moment my feet touched the ground—
Vanish.
BOOM!
Swarms of orange-skinned beings with horns—demonic, savage—rushed me from every direction.
I fired ki blasts nonstop.
Dodge. Boom. Fire. Dodge again.
More kept coming.
There's only one way.
Shirt off.
Stance set.
Instinct took over.
Punch. Dodge. Hit. Dodge. Strike.
"MWAHAHAHA—YES!"
Time slowed. Memories flooded back—every instructor who had ever pushed me forward, every blow that forged me into this.
Dodorias laugh still ringing in my ears
WEAK KAWAMAHA!
Years of weakness and pain forcing myself to try to get up atleat one more time—
If I die here… all of that was for nothing.
THIS WILL NOT BE MY END!
"RAAAAGHH!"
My ki erupted.
"This is the end."
I tore the last one in half.
Then I felt it.
His presence.
again.
Power surged through me. Every instinct screamed to fight him.
I want to fight.
No—this is adrenaline talking.
If I fought him now, I would die.
I kicked the last demon corpse aside and waited.
Finally.
It's time.
Now… or never.
Unknown..!?
Lord frieza i could tell that he just finished clearing my whole army. do you still want me to wait?
Mawaha that monkey actually did it
No kill him! make sure his father knows who did it
MWAHAAH
