Chapter 29
Slowly, Silas walked forward, his full armour gleaming under the moonlight. While others didn't notice, his physiology was subtly morphing to counter Arthur's gravity, adapting in silence.
He had been watching ever since.
His blade was pointed at Arthur, a silent order against him. Silas stopped directly in front of the cohort.
"I will take it from here."
Placing his sword on his shoulder, Silas dashed toward Arthur.
'I can't fight… but I must.'
Arthur clenched his quivering palms, forcing strength into limbs that no longer obeyed him properly. His breathing was uneven, vision slightly blurred, but he braced himself anyway.
Silas closed the distance in an instant, his blade swinging down to decapitate him—
A foot slammed into his side.
The impact was violent, unnatural.
Silas was sent flying across the courtyard, crashing into the opposite corridor. A thunderous boom followed as his body struck the wall, dust erupting outward in a thick cloud.
