The people of the ninja world were enveloped by the golden rain. In an instant, every ninja was pulled into a space resembling the Tsukuyomi; vast, warm, and serene. It was a world of blue sky and water, stretching into an endless horizon. Naruto stood at the front, with everyone else, including Minato and Kushina, standing behind him.
Across from them lay a sea of flowers, marking the end of all things. In the center of the garden stood the girl in the white dress. Her dress fluttered, her hair swayed in the breeze, and she carried an ethereal, divine air, she looked less like a person and more like a deity. Everyone in the ninja world was moved; she had fulfilled her vow to restore everyone, and within the Infinite Flower Realm, people could finally truly understand one another.
The Sage of Six Paths founded Ninshū, but Kanon was even greater. She had become a Creator God, returning everyone to the world.
Naruto saw Kanon smiling at him and began to sprint forward, but an invisible wall of law blocked his path. Kanon walked up to the wall, looking at his face. Behind her, the mountains and waters of her personal Flower Realm began to vanish, dissolving into petals.
On Naruto's side, the world remained pure, silent, and peaceful. Nobody spoke. Even the Uchiha remained quiet, leaving this final moment to Naruto and Kanon.
"Kanon! Come out!" Naruto yelled.
"It's no use, Naruto. I'm heading out, too. Your mom and dad are back now." Kanon smiled, hands on her hips. "Be happy! From now on, there's always someone to welcome you home!"
"I am happy..." Naruto said, though tears streamed down his face. Kanon reached out to wipe his tears away, but her hand pressed against the invisible wall.
Naruto stared at her beautiful face, but horror took hold as he watched the mountains of her world crumble into drifting petals. He hammered the wall with his fists, unleashed Rasengan and Rasenshuriken. Even his Six Paths mode could not break the barrier. Sasuke did the same, Chidori, Amaterasu, Indra's Arrow, nothing could move it.
Kanon watched her world fade, smiling at Naruto. She wanted to leave, to embrace him, but she knew this was the wall of causality. It was unbreakable.
Naruto sat on the ground, leaning against the wall, weeping helplessly. On the other side, Kanon did the same. Back-to-back, yet worlds apart. She lowered her head, weeping too, mourning the separation. In her hand was a kunai identical to the one she had given Naruto. She looked at it, thinking of Konin. This was the path she had chosen; she had to walk it with a smile, not tears.
Wiping her eyes, she turned. Naruto and Kanon both stood up. Kanon reached out to touch his face, but the wall stood firm. Seeing Naruto and Sasuke about to lash out again, she shook her head and held up the flower-etched kunai. She kissed it gently and smiled at them.
They pressed their own kunais against the wall. Though separated, the blades touched in spirit.
Kanon tilted her head, a radiant smile on her face. She looked behind her, the world was dissolving, reaching her feet. The others panicked, pounding on the wall.
"Hey! Kanon, get out of there!!!"
Kanon shook her head. She wrote on the wall with her kunai: You will always be my best friend.
She finished and laughed. In this moment of parting, to see everyone one last time was her greatest wish. Seeing the ground behind her vanishing, Naruto scrambled to write in response: You will always be my best friend, too.
Ten minutes later, her world was gone. Only Kanon remained, floating in the void, her consciousness fading. She drifted like a girl in water, her surroundings turning to nothingness.
Naruto clutched his kunai, sobbing. Behind him, every ninja bowed their heads in silent mourning. This girl, greater than the Hokage or the Sage of Six Paths, deserved their reverence for breaking the chains of causality.
Suddenly, a voice echoed through the Infinite Flower Realm. It was Konin's.
"Kanon, this is the final remnant of my power in the Flower Realm... I hope this helps you one last time before you walk your path of invincibility..."
A golden light enveloped Kanon. It was Konin's power, breaking the laws of the realm, piercing the wall, and carrying Kanon through it. She slammed into Naruto, knocking him flat. Naruto, in shock, used every ounce of his strength to hold her tight. Sasuke tried to help them up, but the force of the collision left them all on the ground.
Kanon awakened, looking at Naruto and Sasuke beneath her. Tears flowed from her eyes. Naruto reached up, gently stroking her tear-streaked cheek. The entire ninja world went silent. Even their peers in the Leaf watched in awe. Hinata wore a genuine, heartfelt smile. It hadn't been easy for them; if they could have this final goodbye, who could ask for more?
On the horizon of blue water, the surface acted like a mirror, reflecting the scene: Kanon lying against Naruto, weeping as she watched him. Then, she lowered her head to touch his face.
Just as her hand brushed his skin, Kanon's body dissolved into countless cherry blossom petals, carried away by the wind as if she had never existed in this world at all.
All that remained was a trembling, weeping Naruto, and Kanon's final words:
"Naruto, happy birthday."
The Tsukuyomi space collapsed, and everyone returned to the ninja world.
The crowd watched Naruto with regret and sorrow. Kushina wiped her eyes, patting her son's back. Mikoto had already dissolved into tears; she had just lost her daughter again. Everyone who had known Kanon, the Akatsuki, Jiraiya, Shisui, Izumi, all wept.
Even the summons of Ryūchi Cave and Mount Myōboku were there. Kabuto, who cared for the White Snake Sage, wept too. Kanon was the most unique existence Ryūchi Cave had ever known; she had broken causality to bring back the impossible. The commoners, the victims, the lost, everyone Kanon had returned represented her eternal contribution to the ninja world.
Sasuke walked up and patted Naruto's shoulder.
"Kanon is gone. She wouldn't want us to be so depressed."
"I... I understand."
"Let's go back. Too many unexpected things have happened. Many have returned, and though it's a happy trouble, we need to discuss what comes next."
"The Infinite Flower Realm has enveloped the world; we are effectively immortal now. We must consider a new order, if only as an answer to Kanon," Madara said, stepping forward with Izuna and Hashirama behind him. Tobirama followed close behind. In the Infinite Flower Realm, they were all immortal, and having sat down to talk, they were much more peaceful now.
In reality, Kanon stood upon the golden light outside the blue planet. She wore her Uchiha trench coat, restored to her former self. Her eyes were filled with lingering nostalgia and reluctance, but she could no longer cry.
She had become a god, yet she could no longer weep.
