As his voice faded, Obito's pupils dilated. His body grew cold. Obito was gone, chasing the dream of Rin, leaving this world behind for the Pure Land.
"HAHAHAHAHA!" Black Zetsu cackled from Kaguya's sleeve.
"He's beyond saving! He died like the trash he was. No one will remember him."
"He murdered his own clan, killed your parents, why did you help him?"
"Whatever. He betrayed us, and he betrayed Kanon. He was nothing but a fickle piece of garbage." Black Zetsu sneered. "Despised by both friend and foe, killed by his own partner, with no friends or family left to weep for him."
"A loser like that leaves nothing behind but disgrace. His most precious person died, and he couldn't even achieve his dream. Used until the very end, dying in confusion, he was a fool who accomplished nothing!"
"Shut your mouth, you bastard!" Naruto roared at Black Zetsu.
"Kanon," Black Zetsu continued, "even though we're enemies, killing him like that was satisfying!"
"That pathetic traitor is finally gone. To think, for someone so small, he had the vitality of a cockroach, didn't he? HAHAHA!"
Listening to the laughter, Kanon's expression remained indifferent. Obito would die, but he would not cease to exist. Within the Infinite Flower Realm, he would always be there, and so would his dream of Rin.
Watching Black Zetsu's grin stretch to his ears, Naruto felt only blind rage.
His expression hardened, and with firm eyes, he shouted:
"DON'T YOU LAUGH AT OBITO!!!"
Kanon looked toward Naruto in surprise. What did he mean by that? Minato and Kushina... Thinking of them, Kanon didn't say anything more. It was time to go all out.
"Naruto, if you continue to oppose us, you will meet the same miserable end as that piece of trash who turned to ash," Black Zetsu shrieked.
"To me…" Naruto flashed forward, instantly severing Kaguya's left hand, separating Black Zetsu from her. "…Obito, who aimed to be Hokage... is the coolest guy ever!"
At the next moment, Obito awoke once more. He looked like his younger self.
It was a pink space, and Rin was kneeling beside him.
"Rin..."
"I've been waiting for you for so long," Rin smiled.
"Is that so? I'm sorry to have kept you waiting."
"You took quite a long detour, didn't you..." Rin reached out and touched Obito's face, her expression gentle.
"Yeah. A lot happened before I got here."
Rin lowered her hand, then extended it toward him. Obito's heart trembled.
"Rin... the promise I made to you..."
Rin shook her head. "Don't say that. You've already done your best, Obito."
Obito froze, his eyes trembling, but Rin caught his hand. "I saw it all!"
Tears streamed down Obito's cheeks. Rin held his hand firmly. "Let's go."
Rin smiled gently at his tear-stained face.
"What a mess. You see me making a fool of myself as soon as I arrive."
"You're calmer now, aren't you?" Rin laughed and pulled him up. "Let's go, Obito."
"Rin... can you wait for me a little longer?"
"Obito?"
"Before I go to that world, wait for me. I have to go somewhere."
Rin looked at him with a helpless smile. "Honestly, who are you trying to help this time?"
"Kakashi..."
I can finally be alone with Rin. If he came now, he'd just ruin everything! Besides, that guy can't help with anything; he's just standing there like a scarecrow in a field. Seeing him is infuriating.
Rin giggled. "A lot has happened, but you two are still very close."
"We are not! That guy and I are like oil and water!"
"Can you go right now?"
"Yes. Chakra is the energy that connects the two worlds. I'm going to find Kakashi."
Obito's pupils shifted into the Mangekyō, and he departed.
"I'll be waiting here," Rin said.
"Sorry, Rin. I'll be back soon."
...
In the real world, Black Zetsu was pinned to the ground by Naruto's black rods. Kakashi stood where he was, staring at Obito's corpse, muttering:
"Even though I don't have much power, I was the one left behind again..."
Just as Kakashi sank into despair, a blue chakra erupted from Obito's remains, enveloping him. It was an inner world; Kakashi saw himself as a child, and Obito stood before him.
"Obito?!"
"Before I head to that world, I've come to give you a warning: stay away from there."
"I gave you that eye as a celebration for becoming a Jonin. If you give it back now, I won't be able to rest easy."
"Obito... you..." Kakashi was speechless.
"Besides, I won't be waking up in this world again. Never mind that. Take care of the Sharingan in my body. And, I just told Naruto he'd be the Seventh Hokage... but you! You're going to be the Sixth!"
"Of course, you must make sure Kanon sees reason. She is, after all, a fine subordinate of yours."
"Even though you haven't taken the seat yet, let me give you your gift. It has an expiration date, but it should come in handy." As Obito spoke, Kakashi felt the surge of power.
"You understand, right? In the end, you haven't forgotten the reputation you've earned abroad, have you?"
"The fame of the Copy Ninja, Kakashi of the Sharingan!"
At that moment, as Kakashi opened his eyes, they transformed into Obito's Mangekyō Sharingan.
On the other side, the combined assault from Sasuke and Kanon struck Kaguya.
Naruto followed close behind. "Let's go! Everyone!"
Behind Naruto, eight shadow clones appeared, each cloaked in the chakra of a different Tailed Beast.
"Sage Art: Super Tailed Beast Rasenshuriken!"
A terrifying explosion rocked the sky, raising a mountain of dust. But it wasn't over. Behind Naruto, in Kanon's hands, a Rasengan Fire Dance larger than Konoha itself manifested. It looked like a miniature sun, wreathed in crimson star-rings.
"Flower Release: Rasengan Fire Dance!"
Instantly, the catastrophic attack engulfed Kaguya. The intense heat, like the fusion of a star, made Kaguya feel as if her very body were melting.
Sakura nodded at the sight, the technique was devastating, far stronger than Naruto's previous attack.
Struck by the blast, Kaguya's body began to swell, morphing into a gargantuan, monstrous form. It was no longer human; it was the unstable manifestation of the Ten-Tails' will.
Kanon waited for the moment of sealing, ready to drag Kaguya into the Flower Realm. But Kaguya's white, fleshy limbs began lashing out indiscriminately. Any hand that neared Kanon was instantly disintegrated.
"Sasuke, Kanon! Don't let those white hands grab you!" Naruto shouted. "They absorb chakra instantly, it's incredibly fast!"
"I know!" Sasuke nodded. Kanon remained silent.
On the ground, Sakura was isolated and had nowhere to dodge.
"Kanon! Sasuke! Use your Dōjutsu to get Sakura out of there!"
"Understood," Kanon nodded, preparing to use Amenotejikara to pull Sakura to safety, after all, this was her last battle alongside her former teammates.
But a second later, Kanon stopped. A faint smirk touched her lips.
"What's wrong?! Kanon, move! That's Sakura!"
"No... there's no need for me to intervene."
"What?!" Before Naruto could reply, a giant blue hand reached out, grabbed Sakura, and carried her into the air. It was a Susanoo!
"Success! Kanon, that's your Susanoo?!"
"No," Sasuke said, stunned. "Kanon's is red. That isn't mine or hers."
"It's not yours?!" Naruto gasped.
"It's Kakashi's," Kanon said softly.
Indeed, Kakashi stood inside the crystal core of the Complete Body Susanoo.
"Obito, thank you!" Kakashi nodded. In this final battle, he had finally found his purpose.
"No, that's impossible!" Sasuke argued.
"There's nothing strange about it," Naruto grinned. "Our teacher is the world-renowned Copy Ninja."
"Kakashi of the Sharingan!"
"He doesn't have the Sharingan anymore!" Sasuke retorted.
"Chakra is the energy that connects worlds," Kanon murmured. "Obito, whom I killed... he gave Kakashi one last hand."
"I don't get what's happening, but we're saved!" Sakura nodded.
"Obito, Kanon!" Kakashi shouted. "Watch closely! This time, I'm going to protect them. I'm going to protect this world!"
