Chapter 296 - Chapter 295: I Look Forward to Seeing Your Limit

In myths, it was described as the very first Pokémon, born from an egg in a place of nothingness before the universe even existed.

In the myths of the Hisui region, it was seen as the creator of all things. It was the source of light that shone down from the heavens onto the land of Hisui, using its light to guide and protect Pokémon.

The Great Lord of Sinnoh, the Creator, the Alpha Pokémon.

These were all the respectful titles given to Arceus by both humans and Pokémon.

Holy crap! Busted!!

Damian looked at this "alpaca" in total shock.

Damian had once wondered what his meeting with Arceus would be like.

Since he had already made a promise to Giratina, he assumed he would head to the Hall of Origin to challenge Arceus only after he was fully prepared.

But Damian really hadn't expected this "chance encounter" to happen so suddenly.

The deity stood there quietly on the ground. No one knew exactly when it had appeared.

Its body was white, and its shape looked like an alpaca mixed with a horse. Gray patterns ran across its torso, mane, tail, and face. Its hooves were gold. Around its waist, there was a golden ring with cross-like spokes.

Its eyes were green with red pupils, and right now, it was gazing at Damian with a faint smile.

Its body wasn't massive. Based on a quick look, it was only about three meters tall. However, the aura around it felt completely different from anything else.

Caitlin and Cynthia also turned their heads to look at this Pokémon that had appeared out of nowhere. They searched through their memories carefully.

However, they found nothing. They had never seen this Pokémon before.

"Great Lord!"

The three Lake Guardians—Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf—instantly lowered their heads and greeted Arceus with deep respect.

The Great Lord??

Cynthia and Caitlin understood instantly. This meant the white Pokémon in front of them was the legendary Arceus!

Arceus!!!

Cynthia's heart raced as she stared at the Pokémon in front of her.

Lately, she had heard the famous name of Arceus far too many times.

The Creator, the Great Lord of Sinnoh, the creator of Dialga and the others.

"It has been a long time..."

Arceus nodded slightly to Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf. A warm telepathic message rang out.

Its telepathy was very special. It felt like a kind, elderly man who had seen everything the world had to offer. Well, it was possible that Arceus simply liked that tone.

After all, under normal circumstances, Arceus's lifespan should be infinite. It shouldn't be able to grow "old."

It seems this Arceus has a pretty good temper?

Damian noticed this. It seemed he was right. Whether from legends or the things Damian knew, Arceus was actually quite kind and calm.

As for the movie version...

That was only because Arceus believed it had been betrayed by humans. A thousand years of resentment built up, causing it to become violent.

But once the misunderstanding was cleared up, Arceus was still a kind and calm existence.

After all, the Arceus in that story was even willing to lend its "Jewel of Life"—made from its own Plates—to Damos. That said a lot.

To the Arceus in that story, the Plates were its life. If all the Plates were lost, it would weaken quickly. That showed how much it trusted humans.

"Respected Arceus, I am Damian. It is an honor to meet you."

Damian had many thoughts, but he immediately showed respect to Arceus.

No matter what, Arceus was the Creator of this world. Showing respect was necessary.

"You are very impressive, Damian."

Arceus's eyes focused on Damian, and then it spoke with a smile.

It had seen many things. It had been watching.

"I thought you were still sleeping. The people in Michina Town have been waiting for your arrival so they can return your Plates to you."

Damian spoke naturally, neither submissive nor arrogant.

"Michina Town..."

Arceus's tone carried emotion. It remembered the Michina of the past. Speaking of that place, it really had been too long since it went back.

In the blink of an eye, a thousand years had passed. Damos must have turned to dust a long time ago.

That was the nature of humans.

"A thousand years ago, I fell into a long sleep. I only woke up recently."

Arceus said. And it hadn't expected to see so many things as soon as it woke up.

Recently? That means it didn't just wake up right now. Then, everything that happened at Spear Pillar just now...

Damian had a slightly bad feeling in his heart.

"Do not worry. I will wait for your challenge at the Hall of Origin."

Hearing Arceus's words, Damian looked up. He met Arceus's smiling eyes.

"The hymn of humanity is the hymn of courage. The greatness of humanity is the greatness of courage."

Arceus looked up toward the distance, its gentle telepathy sounding a bit distant.

It was worth mentioning that Kyogre, fearing its own body might block Arceus's view, immediately and obediently dropped to the ground and lay flat.

Please, Lord Alpaca, definitely don't look at me.

"That's..."

Hearing those words, Damian's heart jumped. That phrase was surprisingly familiar.

"Back then, there was also a human who came before me to prove the strength of humanity. They challenged me."

"At that time, they came as a representative of all of humanity."

"I acknowledged that humanity's future could move forward on its own, and I returned to my own dimension. However, I often wondered what gave them such firm conviction."

Arceus spoke slowly.

"But later, I understood. Under my protection, humans could live stable lives, yet they lacked the courage to carve out their own future."

"And facts have proven that this was the right path."

Arceus turned its gaze back to Damian, a faint light shimmering in its eyes.

"Giratina holds a grudge against me in its heart. I have always known this. However, I do not wish for it to do anything reckless because of that grudge."

"Now that you are here, Damian, I am much more at ease."

Hearing this, Damian nodded. That was true.

Giratina had a violent personality. To challenge Arceus, it might do extreme things, like driving Dialga and Palkia into a frenzy.

But with him around, Damian wouldn't let Giratina cause chaos.

"Just as you said, I look forward to that moment. I will see your limits."

A light appeared in front of Arceus, and a purple flute formed out of thin air.

The Azure Flute!

Damian recognized this flute immediately. It was the item that allowed one to enter the Hall of Origin.

"You will not find the Azure Flute in the outside world."

Arceus's gentle voice came again.

"A thousand years ago, I took it back and fell into a long sleep."

Damian clicked his tongue. It was a good thing the "alpaca" showed up today. Otherwise, he probably would have wasted a lot of time searching.

But that made sense. In the original games, there was never a legitimate way to get the Azure Flute. It only appeared in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and even then, it came directly from Arceus.

"Take it."

"Thank you."

Damian did not refuse. He accepted the Azure Flute.

This was given to him by Arceus personally.

"Time is also running short."

"?"

Damian was confused. What did it mean that time was running short?

"An evil force is wandering between parallel worlds. Damian, you must be prepared."

Arceus didn't speak in riddles. It warned Damian directly.

An evil force? Wandering between parallel worlds?

Damian raised an eyebrow. Was it Team Rainbow Rocket?

In the original story, only Team Rainbow Rocket fit that description.

"Can't you just wipe them all out yourself?"

Damian asked Arceus.

Team Rainbow Rocket was an organization led by Rainbow Giovanni. It was formed by crossing multiple parallel worlds.

And the leaders of Team Rainbow Rocket were versions of past villains who had already achieved their goals in their own worlds.

On top of that, many of them carried Legendary Pokémon.

Without a doubt, Team Rainbow Rocket was dangerous. Rainbow Giovanni gathered those bosses from other worlds because he wasn't satisfied with only ruling his own world.

So, he set his sights on other worlds.

And in the game plot, that organization was cleared out by Selene alone.

What kind of joke was that? Team Rainbow Rocket tried to invade Alola, where Selene was?

Of course, the Selene of this world hadn't grown up yet, but that wasn't the point. Arceus was right here.

"Damian, after that event back then, I made a decision not to interfere in the internal conflicts of humanity."

Arceus shook its head.

Damian: "..."

"Arceus, is there a possibility that this counts as an invasion from another world? It shouldn't really count as an 'internal' conflict, right?"

Damian chose his words carefully.

If it's a human conflict, it should at least be within this world, right? People crossing from other worlds to attack shouldn't count.

Arceus smiled but said nothing, simply looking at Damian.

"Alright, alright, I get it. Please feel free to leave this matter to me."

Damian understood instantly. He patted his chest and answered with confidence.

"As expected of the one Giratina chose. Damian, I was not wrong about you."

A smile appeared in Arceus's eyes, showing appreciation.

Damian's eyelids twitched. He suddenly felt that Arceus was a bit mischievous.

Still, Team Rainbow Rocket was already one of Damian's targets anyway.

If they dared to come, Damian would not let them leave.

"When you have driven those invaders away, I will give you the reward you deserve."

Arceus would give something in return. It never asked people to work for nothing.

"What reward?" Damian got excited.

"What do you want?" Arceus asked with interest.

"I want a body that can withstand a thousand trials—the strongest human body in the world!"

"?"
