The apocalypse set in faster that expected. The world started to change slowly.The sky was always grey. The plants and animal slowly started to behave strangely. The snow hadn't stopped since it started. Along with the piling snow the flu kept spreading. The hospitals got flooded with patients. Nature was warning humans in it's own way.
After the last scare Kyle became too frightened. He started to believe Alicia's words. He watched the news channels. Few channels showed facts on weather, few to protect oneself from flu and the other few about the patients flooding the hospital. The government hadn't yet issued a warning notice but the situation was worse. People were still ignorant of what was about to come.
At the start of November nature unleashed it's full fury. A strange phenomenon caught the eye of the people. The sky had turned bright red at one point. The people noticed it but didn't give any mind.
The asteroid that was supposed to come on December 24th had arrived early.The news channels explained the cause of it's early arrival. Alicia and everyone were sitting on the table. Alicia and Alister ate while three other pair of eyes we're on the TV. Kyle suddenly turned to look at Alicia.
"Will it be fine? " he paused and then continued "Will we be all right Alicia? "
Alicia looked at him and sighed. "I can lie to you and say we'll be fine but it's better to know reality rather than facing the unknown. "
Kyle gulped and put his hand on his tummy worriedly. Alicia looked at him and said "I don't know if we will be able to live like this in the future for sure but at least we are prepared for what's to come"
Allister put a hand on Kyle's shoulder and said "We're at least better than those who are ignorant. "
"But is this right? We should at least inform the government." Kyle said.
"Do you think we can save everyone? " Luke asked "Sometimes it's better to protect oneself first. You should worry about youself and the baby first."
Kyle stopped and looked at his portruded belly. He worridly caressed it and asked the baby "We will be fine right baby.... "
Alicia added without looking "We have to be. "
What's meant to happen will happen. The world had changed without anyone knowing. At night the shooting star arrived. Light flashed. The world lit up and dimmed again. Only a few witnessed it. People slept peacefully for the last time.
Alicia stood on the balcony and watched the sight unfold. She let everyone sleep in peace for the last time.
Morning arrived just as usual but this morning was bloody. As people who had died sat up. Those who were sleeping started to shake. Blood driped from their mouth. Suddenly they attacked the person nearest to them. Banging was heard on the doors of the morgues. After a while under pressure the doors bursts out. The dead attacked the living. Few unlucky ones beacame the first victims. Everywhere chaos erupted. The windows were covered by blood. People bit people on streets. Everyone ran to save their lives. Often screams were heard.
