Seraphina stiffened slightly atop the bed.
Lucian's crimson eyes glowed even more intensely beneath the dim orange lighting of the room. His breathing immediately grew heavier.
He suddenly felt a strange pull from deep within him, as if something invisible was calling him toward that voice.

"Lia…" he muttered under his breath, his voice hoarse and slightly trembling.
Kanna instantly noticed the change around him, the bloodlust intensifying around him sharply the moment Lia's voice echoed through the castle.
Then he immediately turned toward Seraphina, seeing her still frozen atop the bed, her watery eyes slightly unfocused with confusion.
"Mom."
Lucian's rough voice snapped her attention toward him instantly, her misty, icy-blue eyes widening faintly.
"You stay here, I'll come in a bit."
