[3rd POV]
The song had continued to blow up over the next couple of days, since it was Christmas, and the song she had made was the perfect Christmas anthem. It was blowing up fast enough that it had hundreds of millions of views within less than a week of it being released, much to Billie's happiness.
At the same time though, Billie did not really pay attention to the song and the how it was doing in terms of popularity, as she had far more important things to do, which was preparing for her girlfriends 18th birthday.
The birthday was happening tomorrow, and she had to prepare for it. Since it was not only her birthday, but it was the day before they would get a flight to Paris where she would be spending her actual birthday, as this little celebration with the Dunphy's was actually happening a day before her true birthday.
That was something that Haley was constantly bringing up whenever she had the chance to talk about her birthday, when her mother was bringing it up. Haley wanted to celebrate her birthday on her actual birthday, like most people naturally would.
But Claire had made it very clear that she had to celebrate it a day before this year, due to some "Family things" that were important, at least, according to what Claire had told her.
That was of course a lie, and was just a cover up in order to hide what Billie was planning. This way she can make sure all of her stuff was ready to go and prepared for when she and her girlfriend would head down to Paris the day after.
It was also early in the morning, like very early when they would be going. Around 2 in the morning is when she plans on leaving, so that they would arrive in Paris by 3 or so in the afternoon, as the flight itself would be at least twelve hours.
In reality it'd likely be a bit longer than that, due to a number of factors that would tribute to it. But Billie had everything planned and ready, and she personally had bought and prepared the last of her girlfriends gifts for the week out.
It had cost her...a lot of money, but that really didn't matter that much to her, as she would just make the money back within a week or two anyways, thanks to all the investing she had been doing over the past few months.
Like buying out dozens of small businesses and chain restaurants like Subways, Jack in the Boxes, and a number of others that would contribute further to her growing wealth. On top of that she owned a lot of real estate that she was renting out to others, therefore making even more money that flooded her account in the millions.
Billie had prepared everything to a tea, and was now just waiting for the next day to arrive so that she could surprise her girlfriend and show her just what Paris could truly look like to an outsider. She hoped that Paris would not completely ruin her expectations, but she had a feeling that it would.
As Paris was not exactly the nicest place in the world, not anymore. And it was well known that the place was completely overrun with sewage and excess. Mass amounts of trash and disgusting scents coated most of the streets, in a way that was unlike even what was happening in Los Angeles. But, there was a city that was pretty similar in the "Beauty" aspect, and that was of course, New York.
If Haley had decided that she did not like Paris as much as she had thought that she would (Like Billie was fully expecting, and wouldn't be even remotely surprised by), she had prepared a number of backup plans that would hopefully improve the way that Paris looks, and by a meaningful amount at that.
Or at least the parts of Paris that they would be going to, which was a lot of it thanks to the rather...lacking and ugly. But that was kind of just Paris in general in the modern time period.
The other back up plans that she had made was going to Italy instead, which would take a much shorter flight, and would be a good second option for them to go to. Italy was another beautiful country that had a long history with Italy, and an even longer one with France.
France and Italy were both beautiful in their own ways, which is what made her like Italy more from what little she had seen. Its beauty and natural aesthetic appealed to her a lot more than France's, even if they both looked exactly the same, in a number of areas due to their influences from a long long time ago.
And if somehow she did not like Italy either, she had yet another backup in the form of Spain, which was yet another country that was somewhat similar to them in appeal and history. With Singapore being a close second to Spain in terms of where she wanted to go.
That was just another case of it being her decision, as Spain was not a country she had enough knowledge about to say anything to. The same thing could be applied to Portugal, as she had information for either of them, which just made things even more difficult and confusing.
Haley would just need to decide herself, but personally, Billie was hoping to go to Spain as she was more interested in that country than Portugal. It was just a personal preference thing, and had absolutely nothing to do with what was happening in the country itself.
At the moment Billie was in her living room, wrapping some of the presents she had bought for Christmas, most of them were for the Dunphy family and those that were related to it. While another portion was going to get sent to the children's hospital that her and Haley had visited during their time in Seattle.
Billie preferred to do her own wrapping herself, as it added more of a charm to it, and would make it far more personal for Haley, who would realize quickly that a professional had not done it, hence why she had to do it herself for a bit longer, which would have been amazingly easy, normally at least, but in this case, there was a LOT of presents to wrap.
She was pretty confident that her work was getting to her, and all of the personal stuff that she was going through. Not having a real break in quite some time, which was another reason as to why she was so excited to go to a new country, having something to preoccupy herself with instead of working on whatever she had planned.
Billie hummed as she finished wrapping another present, placing it at the side. It was one for the Make a Wish hospital, and was a gaming console for one of the younger kids that had just joined the hospital and had seen that all the others had a console, and therefore asked for one himself. But this time it had been in a large box with the necessary security to keep it secured and safe before it got handed off to a literal child.
Looking over the presents that she had wrapped, Billie felt a small smile form on her face, before she glanced at the clock as it ticked down, and had one thought on her mind.
'Time to prepare for a birthday party!'
