Chapter 404 - Chapter 404: Spatial Vortex

"This power..."

Feeling the pressure emanating from the spatial domain, Locke was slightly startled.

After the blood throughout his body had completely returned to its original state and turned crimson, he had successfully completed the evolution of his divine beast bloodline.

At this moment, if Locke called himself a spatial supreme divine beast, then even in Hongmeng Universe's primary universe, no one would dispute it.

As the first-generation spatial supreme divine beast, Emperor Jiang, Locke could now rival a Godking who had completely comprehended the Spatial Laws through the power of his bloodline alone.

Furthermore, as a supreme divine beast, the strength of Locke's body had already reached a level comparable to an Overgod artifact. Among Godkings, anyone who had not comprehended the Laws of Time would simply be no match for him.

However, once one had comprehended the Laws of Time—even if it was merely double Time Acceleration—then even with Locke's status as a spatial supreme divine beast and a Godking who had fully comprehended the Spatial Laws, he still would not be the opponent of such a person.

Only the Laws of Time could contend against the Laws of Time.

"It seems I'll have to remain in seclusion for a while longer to get used to this. Otherwise, if I accidentally leak even a trace of my power while I'm with Lilia, An'an, or the others..."

The Death Chief Sovereign, Lilia, possessed the Heart of the Netherworld. Within the Netherworld itself, Locke wasn't particularly worried.

Outside the Netherworld, however, although the Heart of the Netherworld could still amplify Lilia's strength a hundredfold, powerful as that was, under just a trace of Locke's aura she would still be gravely injured even if she survived.

Just as Sovereigns and those beneath them existed on entirely different levels, Overgods and Sovereigns were likewise lifeforms from two completely different dimensions.

As for Loran and Levlenxia, they probably wouldn't even leave behind ashes.

Shaking his head and dismissing such thoughts, Locke resumed his seclusion.

This time, however, he wasn't comprehending another set of Laws.

Instead, his primary focus was mastering the power of his own body to avoid causing unnecessary accidents.

Compared to comprehending Laws, mastering one's own body was far easier.

Especially now that, after completely comprehending the Spatial Laws, Locke's soul had undergone a tremendous improvement. His soul had grown from the form of an infant into that of a youth.

Thinking about it, that made perfect sense.

Only a soul of such strength could completely control the Spatial Laws.

With Locke's immensely powerful soul, it took him less than a year to achieve perfect control over his own power.

With a casual wave of his hand, the Water Manor that had been destroyed by a mere trace of his aura was instantly recreated, identical to the original.

Large amounts of Water elemental essence filled the enormous crater that had been left around Mount Nether, causing the lake beneath Locke's Water Manor to expand several times over.

After emerging from seclusion, Locke was somewhat surprised.

He couldn't sense the Death Chief Sovereign's aura anywhere within the Netherworld.

With a thought, Locke acted.

The Overgods of the Coiling Dragon Universe were manifestations of the Four Overgod Edicts.

So long as the Overgod Edicts existed, the Four Overgods existed everywhere.

Although Locke had completely comprehended the Spatial Laws and become a Godking, placing his life level on the same tier as the Overgods,

the only thing he had comprehended was the Spatial Laws. He had not fused with the Coiling Dragon Universe's source of the Spatial Laws.

Thus, he still could not exist everywhere as the Overgods did.

If Locke chose to fuse with the magical universe's source of the Spatial Laws, then his strength would undoubtedly rise to rival—or perhaps even surpass—the Four Overgods.

However, Locke also knew that once he fused with the magical universe's spatial source, he would forever be bound to the magical universe just like the Four Overgods, never again having any possibility of transcending the Coiling Dragon Universe.

Therefore, unless he someday concluded that transcending was utterly impossible, he would never make such a choice.

Of course, while Locke did not possess the omnipresence of the other Overgods, anywhere his soul power extended, he was effectively omnipresent.

His soul power spread outward.

This was the first time Locke had released his soul power since advancing to the Godking realm.

In but an instant, his vast soul power had already spread across the Seven Divine Planes and the Four Higher Planes.

Even Locke himself was momentarily stunned by such speed.

At the same time, because of the tremendous enhancement to his soul, everything throughout the Seven Divine Planes and Four Higher Planes appeared within his spiritual perception in perfect synchronization with reality.

Under such circumstances, Locke scarcely needed any effort before he had already located the Death Chief Sovereign, Lilia.

After finding her, Locke did not stop, but continued extending his soul power outward.

Only after more than a dozen breaths did his soul finally reach its limit.

The number of material planes encompassed within his soul power numbered no fewer than hundreds of millions of billions.

Even so, it still had not reached the boundary of the magical universe.

Although the magical universe was merely an auxiliary universe of Hongmeng Universe's primary universe, possessing only one percent of the primary universe's size,

that did not mean the auxiliary universe was small.

Rather, it simply meant the primary universe was unimaginably vast.

Even the entire Hongmeng Space could only support four universes the size of a Hongmeng primary universe.

It should be remembered that the primary universes created by Second-Level Hongmeng Controllers were only comparable in size to auxiliary universes.

From this alone, one could see just how immense an auxiliary universe truly was.

For Locke, who had only just advanced to the Godking realm, it was perfectly normal that his soul power could not yet encompass the entirety of the magical universe.

Retracting his soul power, Locke had no intention of continuing to explore the limits of the magical universe.

After all, one should always leave a few unknowns for oneself.

If the universe held no secrets whatsoever in his eyes, then life within it would become far too dull.

Comprehending only the Spatial Laws had already taken Locke more than sixty quadrillion years.

The difficulty of comprehending the Laws of Time was hundreds or even thousands of times greater than that of the Spatial Laws.

By that estimate, even if his progress with the Laws of Time went smoothly, it would still require more than a hundred Cycles.

As for fusing the Laws of Time with the Spatial Laws into the Laws of Space-Time, that would likely require over a thousand Cycles.

Over such an unimaginably long span of time, Locke hoped this world would still be capable of bringing him a few surprises.

With a thought, Locke stepped forward.

His figure vanished from the Netherworld and instantly appeared within the Life Realm.

"Lady Wawaya, I apologize for my unannounced visit."

Although Locke's strength had long since surpassed the level of the Four Chief Sovereigns of the Edicts,

the highest rank among the Sovereigns had only ever been defined as that of a Chief Sovereign of the Edicts.

Devoted entirely to cultivation, Locke had never had any interest in establishing an even higher rank simply to distinguish himself.

Since Locke himself had never mentioned such a thing, the other three Chief Sovereigns of the Edicts were naturally more than happy to leave matters as they were.

None of them wished to have another rank placed above their own—one they could never hope to attain in this lifetime.

Thus, in terms of status, Locke remained on the same level as the Four Chief Sovereigns of the Edicts.

For that reason, after entering the Life Realm, the very first thing he did was offer his apologies to the Life Chief Sovereign, Wawaya.

"It's of no consequence."

The Life Chief Sovereign smiled gently.

"Chief Sovereign Locke, the Death Chief Sovereign is my elder sister, while Loran and Levlenxia are my adopted son and adopted daughter. We can be considered one family. There is no need to speak of disturbing anyone."

Although she wore a smile, Wawaya was inwardly terrified by Locke's arrival.

Who was she?

The strongest being in the Life Realm.

A Paragon of the Edicts of Life.

Her physical body had also reached the level of a Sovereign artifact.

It could be said that, like the Destruction Chief Sovereign, she had already reached the very limit of what a Chief Sovereign of the Edicts could achieve.

Only after the Fate Chief Sovereign, Orloff, had created the Samsara Golden Body technique, raising his body's toughness to the level of a Sovereign artifact, had he truly stood on equal footing with the other Chief Sovereigns of the Edicts.

Of course, because he possessed Augustus as a second Sovereign body, Orloff's strength exceeded that of Wawaya and the Destruction Chief Sovereign, Utrede, by a factor of ten.

Even when the Death Chief Sovereign, Lilia, tore through space to enter the Life Realm, Wawaya would immediately detect her arrival.

Yet Wawaya could swear that before Locke had spoken, she hadn't noticed in the slightest when or where he had entered the Life Realm.

More than that, even now she could not sense the slightest trace of Locke's aura.

It was as though the figure standing before her wasn't Locke's true body at all, but merely an illusion.

Locke simply nodded to Wawaya before walking toward Lilia and the others.

He had absolutely no idea how shocked Wawaya was internally.

However, Wawaya's perception wasn't wrong.

To prevent his aura from harming anyone, Locke had completely concealed every trace of his presence.

There was no helping it.

The gap between an Overgod-level existence and a Sovereign-level existence was simply too enormous.

When an Overgod descended, even the sound of its ordinary speech was enough to nearly enthrall the Sovereigns.

"Lilia."

Locke's voice sounded from behind the Death Chief Sovereign.

Startled, she instinctively struck backward with one palm.

The power that erupted from the Death Chief Sovereign startled both Levlenxia and Loran.

Looking up, they saw that their mother had shattered space itself with a palm strike as she attacked their father behind her.

"Mother!"

Both Loran and Levlenxia's expressions changed drastically as they hurried to their feet.

From the Life Chief Sovereign, Wawaya, they had learned that their father and mother were the mightiest among all Sovereigns.

Yet even Father, faced with what was essentially a surprise attack from Mother, would probably be unable to react in time and suffer injuries.

Even Locke himself hadn't expected that merely calling Lilia's name would earn him an attack.

Seeing that the power of this strike seemed likely to inflict considerable damage upon the Tree of Life and the surrounding area, Locke slowly raised a hand.

Within his palm, space began to rotate like a flowing vortex.

The instant the Death Chief Sovereign's attack touched that whirlpool-like rotating space, all of its power was instantly dispersed into nothingness.
