"What? A Favored One of the Gods?"
Seeing that Flora clearly didn't understand the title, Aiden Flint took out three Poké Balls.
The next moment, three flashes of white light burst into the sky.
The God of Fire, the God of Ice, and the God of Lightning appeared high above Shamouti Island.
Flora froze on the spot, crying out in shock.
"T-Those are the three guardian deities that dwell on the Three Sacred Islands—Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno! How are they with you?"
She stared at Aiden in utter disbelief.
For a moment, she couldn't help wondering if this man had resorted to some underhanded scheme to capture the Legendary Birds.
Years ago, that despicable collector had relied on dirty tricks to capture them.
But after taking a closer look, it didn't seem that way at all.
The three Legendary Birds showed nothing but warmth toward Aiden. They weren't displaying the lofty, untouchable demeanor one would expect from divine beings.
"They chose to follow me of their own free will. If you don't believe me, you can ask them yourself."
After hearing his answer, Flora turned toward the three birds.
To her astonishment, they all nodded.
Only then did she finally believe him.
Her resistance to his search for Lugia immediately weakened.
After all, if this man had earned the willing loyalty of Zapdos, Moltres, and Articuno, then there was only one obvious reason he had come here.
He intended to find—and capture—the Guardian of the Seas.
Yet, with the three Legendary Birds standing behind him, the title of Favored One of the Gods suddenly seemed entirely believable.
That left Flora deeply conflicted.
Deep down, she didn't want anyone to capture Lugia, the sacred guardian worshipped by the people of Shamouti Island.
At the same time, however, she longed for a trainer capable of achieving miracles beyond the reach of ordinary people.
After all...
Even the three Legendary Birds had willingly chosen to follow Aiden.
If that was possible...
Could the Guardian of the Seas choose him as well?
Shamouti Island had always worshipped Lugia alongside the Gods of Fire, Ice, and Lightning.
Now, three of those divine beings had already become Aiden's Pokémon, yet nature itself remained perfectly stable.
That alone proved he had been telling the truth from the very beginning.
Just then—
The surrounding space suddenly rippled.
A moment later, a Slowking standing roughly one and a half meters tall appeared before the shrine, fixing Aiden with an unwavering gaze.
"As expected... the Child of Destiny of this world has appeared."
"My prophecy was correct."
"The three Legendary Birds have already chosen to follow you."
"In time, the Guardian of the Seas will become your Pokémon as well."
"Flora, do not stop him."
"Tell him everything you know about Lugia."
The instant Slowking spoke, everyone's attention shifted toward him.
Aiden naturally knew who this Slowking was.
An ancient being whose true age was unknown, he had once foretold future events long ago.
His gift of prophecy bordered on omniscience.
As for Flora, she knew him just as well.
When the first settlers arrived on Shamouti Island, they had encountered this mysterious Slowking, revered ever since as the Prophet.
Thanks to his countless prophecies, the islanders had survived disaster after disaster, allowing their descendants to thrive until the present day.
To the people of Shamouti Island, Slowking was one of their irreplaceable guardian deities.
His image was even enshrined within the shrine itself.
"Lord Prophet... are you saying Aiden is the Child of Destiny?"
Slowking simply nodded.
At the same time, Aiden activated the system to inspect Slowking's status.
Ding! Slowking's current attributes are as follows:

Profile: A Slowking that has lived for an unknown number of years. Always carrying an air of wisdom, it has refined its gift of prophecy to an astonishing level. Through centuries of experience, it has mastered countless techniques normally impossible for its species to learn, including Future Sight. Having attained Divine Authority, it now wields extraordinary and unimaginable power.
Likes: Foretelling the future.
Looking at the word Special beside Slowking's name, along with the God of Prophecy listed under Divine Authority, Aiden stood frozen for several moments.
This was the first ordinary Pokémon he had ever encountered that possessed Divine Authority.
So it really was possible...
An ordinary Pokémon could ascend to godhood.
Otherwise, a Pokémon like Slowking could never have existed.
Compared to that revelation, the fact that it possessed Red Potential hardly seemed worth mentioning.
After living for countless years and mastering abilities its species should never have learned, such things no longer seemed surprising.
"A Pokémon with Divine Authority... that's truly rare."
The moment Aiden identified his Divine Authority with a single glance, Slowking's interest in him deepened considerably.
"Child of Destiny..."
"The rise and fall of this world... its very future... rests in your hands."
"That is why I came to meet you personally."
Aiden smiled with interest.
"Those are some fascinating words."
"But what makes you so certain that I'm the Child of Destiny?"
"And what exactly is the Child of Destiny supposed to do?"
Slowking chuckled.
"I am the God of Prophecy."
"From the moment I was born, I possessed the power to foresee the future."
"When you arrived on this island, I looked into your destiny."
"Your future... is more magnificent and glorious than anything I have ever witnessed."
"So I have decided to help you."
"I will help you fulfill your wish."
"I will lead you to Lugia."
"As for what the Child of Destiny must do..."
"It is very simple."
"Simply follow your own heart."
True to his Own Tempo Ability, Slowking's words were mysterious and difficult to grasp.
But Aiden understood one thing.
Slowking had come to help him.
Perhaps, like Dialga, he had glimpsed Aiden's future and chosen to stand at his side, hoping to share in the greater destiny that awaited.
"In that case," Aiden said, "I have a question for you as well, Slowking."
"Please ask."
"No matter what it is, I will answer."
Flora remained rooted to the spot, utterly stunned.
Everything that had happened today had overturned her entire worldview.
First, the three Legendary Birds had willingly become Aiden's Pokémon.
Now even the island's revered Prophet had declared him to be the Child of Destiny.
Aiden looked directly into Slowking's eyes.
"I want to know..."
"How can an ordinary Pokémon become a god?"
