Chapter 101 - Chapter 101

The amphitheater was fully packed in no time and there were people of all sorts. Students seemed to occupy a whole half of the amphitheater and the other half was left for the visitors and half of this space was filled by the new arrivals.

Obviously not everyone could come. Even the students only barely a quarter of them were here but it appeared the number was slightly higher than usual. It was easier to guess that it was because there was a Lady Sera getting promoted to being a core disciple.

Well, there was tension though because if it was true that the kid was dead, it was impossible to tell whether she was still going to get promoted.

But since it was announced in public, there was a high chance that she was going to get promoted. That would be the fourth core disciple in ten years. This went further to show how difficult it was to become a core disciple.

The partakers of the entrance exam kept glancing at the section where the students were. Admiration and hope were written all over their faces as they all had one dream.

To become students of the academy and the audience was made up by students as a majority. If they could be able to show their talent, it was easier for them to easily get picked by good factions.

Rumor had it that you had to join a faction for you to survive. This was why there were many who were rubbing their hands together and a majority were all fidgety.

The more many more students made their appearances, the more the tension in the new arrivals rose. There were leaders of various factions who were easier to tell by the headband on their forehead.

These students took the front rows and there was a missing spot somewhere in the middle of the front row of the student's section.

It was easier to guess who that seat was for and next to that seat were several girls who also had an almost translucent headbands on their foreheads.

There were other students with headbands of different colors including red, green and yellow.

They all wore the same white uniform and it was obvious to tell by the color of their belts that they were all inner disciples as they were all wearing black belts and the rest had white ones.

The majority of those in the first rows were the ones wearing black and those at the middle were a mixture and further back were white belts only.

Though, there were several with black belts who found it better to seat at the back seats rather than the attention seeking front seats.

This was exactly where you would expect to see some monsters and it was proven as one could see Kaelen and his gang seated at the last seat high up the amphitheater.

The spearman was obviously a black belt and the other sixth stages were both white belts.

One thing they all had in common was that they had red headbands and they stretched as far as the last row was concerned which was a mixture or white and black belts.

Rumor had it that Kaelen was going into seclusion but here he was. Maybe this was going to be an interesting day.

The second last row was also interesting because the likes of James were on this row. It appeared he had already broken through and that he had to come out today.

After all, he was now in the ninth stage and what was remaining was for the rankings so that he could beat Kaelen and take the number two spot.

He was wearing a yellow head band and the next around ten students from him on each side were wearing yellow headbands. There was an air of aloofness permeating from them as they now were the unofficial number two.

They were not the only ones standing out as there were other headbands around these back seats and they appeared to be even more formidable.

They were all led by students in the ninth stage and just because they were not ranked did not mean they were weak. They might have actually been the most powerful.

They had a no-nonsense look on their faces and not even the number two and number three could dare to offend them easily.

There were obviously students of this caliber in both James and Kaelen's gang and this was what probably gave them some footing against these monsters apart from ranking.

Ranking alone was not enough after all.

Soon, carriages made their entrance into the academy and the first two to make an appearance were drawn by black horses.

The academy did not serve anyone and they had to bring their own servants to open the doors for them and also to guide them.

This though did not ruin their entrance and they walked through the middle of the amphitheater under the scrutiny of all the students.

This was what everyone dreamed of and the two that stepped out were getting it as their guardians followed behind them.

They were old and aged. Ehite hair and from how they were recognised by the students, it was possible to tell they were academy elders.

They were two twelve years old a boy and a girl. The girl was wearing a purple dress and the guy was wearing a green robe.

"That is Maya. It seems that the rumors are true that she is a beauty…"

"She is truly going to be a beauty in the future…"

"Joe. Cool, he doesn't falter…"

The new arrivals were quick to get impressed and they couldn't hold back. Things were different on the student's sections as they grunted.

"Tryna act cold. Kinda cringe…"

The two took their seats on the first row and in no time, two more carriages drove in and they were a guy and a girl.

The girl in a white dress and the guy in blue robes. They seemed to be related to academy elders too as they were followed by an old lady and a man.

"Terry is actually a beauty too? I have only heard of her."

"She barely comes out you know."

"Wow! Len is actually cooler than Joe…"

The reaction from the students was the same and they did not even bother to comment anymore.

Suddenly, their gazes turned towards the entrance once more as someone had just stepped out of a new carriage. It was more magnificent than the others and the white horses drawing it were even proud.

"The mayor's son is finally here."

"What was his name again?"

"They call him Alvin."

"He really is well suited for this setting."

The mayor's son had a sort of imperial aura as he walked that demanded everyone to look at him. Dressed in red robes and a sparkling face that early in the morning.

He did not seem to act or anything and it was natural for him. He would have had the perfect entrance had he not got beaten up during the market day.

This was a huge blow to his pride and being robbed actually took a chunk off his pride but his father had actually eliminated the threat which was now enough to return his prestige.

He took the central seat at the center of the first row of the new arrivals. He looked around and when he felt all gazes on him, he closed his eyes and took in a deep breath.

He opened his eyes slowly looked around as he had arrived last as he should and all attention had been on him but his eyes instinctively landed on an empty seat in the first row in the students section.
