An hour later, Hitomi entered the lounge, sat in the adjacent armchair, and said:
"Nothing serious. I mended the bones and closed the wound. But some spots where the bones were shattered into tiny pieces mean rehab will take at least a month. He's sleeping now, so wait till morning," she reported to Kenshin, who finally sighed in relief.
"Hitomi, you're pure gold! What would I do without you?" he said with a smile, lifting her into the air with telekinesis and smoothly pulling her onto his lap.
"What would I do without you?" Hitomi whispered with a smile, leaning in to kiss his lips.
Kasumi, sitting nearby, just rolled her eyes and said: "Enough mushy stuff. We need to make a plan."
Kenshin spent the next few hours with his loving wives. Aya and Natsumi joined later for the discussion, but even so, Kenshin learned nothing new. The plan he'd formed in his head in minutes was just refined a bit, and implementation was set to start tomorrow.
For the next few days, Kenshin only built the primary perimeter around the future hideout, accompanied by several sons. Though Kasumi took on some formation work, there was still an overwhelming amount.
Unfortunately, Natsumi couldn't help due to her late pregnancy. Any day now, she and Aya would give birth, bringing Kenshin the desired twentieth level. He was eagerly awaiting it, hoping not just to upgrade "Shelter Creation" but to unlock another incredible ability.
For three days, most sons cleared the designated area of forest, uprooting stumps and huge boulders. Kenshin had already designed the base's outline in his head, ensuring clear sightlines for kilometers.
Over the past four months, Kenshin had upgraded his exo-suit, which could withstand hundreds of full-power Chunin strikes without issue. Combined with psionics, he could fight Ichiro evenly in close combat. Sadly, he still lacked ranged attacks, so lethal fights with peak Chunin were out. In contrast, he'd mastered levitation, flying at 120 km/h effortlessly, making him incredibly dangerous against equals in the long term.
"Kenshin, darling, let's fly to that mountain lake, please..." Kasumi purred at the end of the third day of the massive work.
"Liked flying, huh?" he asked with a smile, then lifted her with a thought and rose into the air himself.
"Ah! God, I still can't get used to how fast your ability develops... When we met, you could barely lift a chair, and now you can carry both of us to a mountain lake no problem..." Kasumi whispered, hugging his neck and pressing her whole body against him.
Kenshin mentally warned the Twenty Fourth, Twenty Eighth, and Thirtieth he was heading to the mountain lake, and they rushed that way to stay nearby and help if needed.
He soared upward effortlessly, vanishing behind clouds with Kasumi to complicate ground detection. Flying with her was harder than solo, but he could still hit 80 km/h for about two hours.
"Ha-ha-ha! Kenshin, look how beautiful!" Kasumi squealed, enjoying the pristine nature in the sunset rays. She couldn't get used to the all-encompassing joy of free flight.
"None of it's more beautiful than you..." he said, "standing" in the air and hugging her from behind.
"You such a flatterer, Nakayama Kenshin!" Kasumi said with a cheerful smile, turning and pressing her body fully against him.
"You such a beauty, Nakayama Kasumi!" he replied with a smile, diving with her into a cloud.
He loved spending time with her. After marriage, Kasumi had awakened her long-suppressed playful little-girl side and fearlessly showed it to Kenshin, knowing no one would reproach her for her feelings now.
Ten minutes later, they landed by the mountain lake, and Kasumi, with a joyful squeal, jumped from a three-meter cliff, surfacing without her bra and beckoning Kenshin to join.
Hours later, in the workshop, Kenshin listened to Ichiro's report, trying to catch subtle details.
"So Zabuza wasn't at the spot, and only half an hour later you detected a skinny figure with the formations who quickly grabbed the money and vanished into the forest? That was definitely Haku. Zabuza's very cunning and probably feared an ambush..." Kenshin muttered thoughtfully.
"Father, your bombs weren't needed, so take them back before the brothers hurt themselves..." Ichiro said, pulling several metal containers from his bag, shaped like tin cans.
"You're right. These 'babies' could punch holes in a Jonin's body, so better keep them with me," he said with a smile, taking all ten "bombs." They were homemade explosives based on a simple "nail bomb" scheme.
The explosive impulse came from one of Kenshin's newest formations. The principle was simple: accumulated world energy gathered at one point and turned into a powerful blast. It ruptured the metal container, hurling nails outward with unimaginable force. These weren't standard nails but customized by Kenshin. First, he altered their shape and center of gravity for better aerodynamics and trajectory; second, each was reinforced a hundredfold with a fortification formation, tough enough to punch through ten-meter boulders if the impulse sufficed.
After Ichiro left, Kenshin fully deactivated the bombs, dissipating all energy to avoid unlikely but dangerous detonation. Then he formed a detailed work plan for tomorrow and was about to go to sleep when Natsumi's call came.
"Ah, Kenshin, it's starting!" she said mentally, and Kenshin rushed to the "delivery room."
