The next hour Kenshin devoted to Hyuga Clan and Byakugan matters specifically. Hitomi told him everything she knew without hesitation. He was surprised by their clan structure. Though he knew of the "main" and "branch family" split, the info was distorted and unreliable. Actually, the "main" branch consisted of one ruling family, rarely exceeding 15-20 people.
Hitomi explained that moving from branch family to main was nearly impossible, though miracles happened. Specifically, the current clan head's great-grandfather was from the branch family but had incredible talent and purest bloodline, rising to Elite Jonin level and defeating a "Kage"-level shinobi in a deathmatch.
Byakugan info differed from Kenshin's superficial ideas. From Hitomi's explanation, he understood Byakugan had clear gradations by bloodline, but Hyuga Clan shinobi inevitably improved their Byakugan's quality over life, faster and easier for highly talented descendants.
Main Byakugan differences were in scanning range and quality. Hitomi herself could scan three kilometers out, while the clan head, by rumors, could scan at least fifty kilometers. She explained main branch members were true monsters, easily seeing through any fuinjutsu concealments, tracking chakra trails without issue, identifying owners and directions.
Hitomi wasn't capable of such feats, but Kenshin still considered her incredibly useful, and didn't hesitate to mention it, slapping her big ass again.
"Ah! Come on, stop it—any touch from you makes me lose concentration..." she whispered, lying in his arms.
"We'll continue tomorrow, but now it's time for dinner," he said with a smile, slapping her ass again, making the mature woman hiss with arousal, and left the room.
Hitomi pouted and rubbed her ass, then stood up, unable to hold back a smile, and followed him. And though at lunch she had been in complete shock and nearly burst into tears from offense, by evening she had remarkably come to terms with the situation. She still didn't like the idea that Kenshin had other wives, but she saw how he loved each of them and knew she would never be abandoned.
As soon as she entered the kitchen, Kenshin smiled and invited her to the table, seating her next to him. Natsumi and Aya nodded lightly to her, while Kasumi smiled. Hitomi liked this cheerful girl from the Nara Clan, and she wasn't against chatting with her.
"Unfortunately, Ichiro and the boys are already asleep, so the celebration in honor of Nakayama Hitomi is postponed until tomorrow. Tonight we'll eat in a small circle. What will you have, girls?" he asked with a smile, stroking the thighs of Aya and Hitomi sitting beside him.
"Mm, I want fried potatoes with mushrooms and meat!" Aya declared, her mouth practically watering in anticipation.
"I'll have a vegetable salad—I'll pick it myself," Natsumi said, staring intently at one spot. An interactive menu invisible to others appeared before her eyes.
"And I want those round things with meat filling, 'pelmeni'," Kasumi said with difficulty. Kenshin had long noticed that Kasumi liked Russian cuisine; she constantly ordered borscht, solyanka, pelmeni, and even ate jellied meat with pleasure, which gave the other girls goosebumps.
"Hitomi?" Kenshin asked with a smile, stroking her plump thigh again.
"Khmm... I don't even know..." she replied, blushing. Everything happening was new to her, and the authoritative woman from the operating room was incredibly embarrassed in this uncharted territory of relationships with a man.
"Let me help you choose. Here, relax and look," he said, standing behind her and placing both hands on her head.
"Ah!" Hitomi exclaimed in surprise, seeing an unfamiliar semi-transparent interface appear before her eyes.
"Shh, relax—it's just the dish selection menu. See, there's sorting by category, by calories, by name, and tons of personal preferences. Pick a category—what do you like?" he whispered tenderly, guiding her mind.
Kenshin's telepathic abilities were developing day by day, and now he could at least see through his wives' eyes and guide them a bit in such minor things. This was only because their minds were 95% loyal to him, but even the remaining 5% was more than enough when it came to studying memories or personal experiences.
"God, what an interesting 'menu'—I've never seen anything like it..." Hitomi muttered, in complete shock at what she saw. She quickly figured out the contextual menu and eagerly browsed the categories, especially enjoying the incredibly vivid images of prepared dishes. Raised in traditional Japanese culture, she loved fish, so she chose salmon fillet with rice as a side. Kenshin added some greens and sauces so his beloved could fully enjoy her dinner.
"Thanks," she whispered, stroking his hand.
Kenshin smiled and tenderly kissed the back of her neck.
"Pff, stop being all lovey-dovey—let's eat!" Kasumi declared, rolling her eyes.
"Fine, bon appétit, girls," he said, sitting in his place and starting dinner with a smile.
After dinner, Kenshin decided to let Hitomi rest and gather her thoughts, so she slept alone in her room. Natsumi was the first to appreciate the prospects, and when everyone had gone to bed, she quietly left her room and slipped under Kenshin's blanket. She wanted affection, but she'd been pregnant for a week already, so Kenshin just hugged her and stroked her head until she fell asleep.
