Chapter 68 - Chapter 68

Kenshin decided not to pressure the confused girl and, turning, strode toward the gym, pulling the black-haired beauty along.

Upon arriving at the gym, Kenshin mentally ordered his sons not to call him father and to act as if he were their employer. He also reminded them not to show their Sharingan and to keep quiet in general, since Kasumi could easily piece it all together from scraps of information.

It wasn't that Kenshin was terribly afraid of an information leak or worried that the "Patriarch's Charm" ability combined with his seduction skills wouldn't work, but it was worth being cautious.

He was 99% sure he'd convince the young beauty within a week and make her his. In half a day, he'd already reached her sweet lips and groped her firm ass—something that, among guys who knew Kasumi, was considered impossible even in a month. Even as a teenage girl, she'd earned the reputation of an ice queen and scared off all boys with just a look.

The guys from the Nara Clan were lazy and cunning. And though the girl had stunning looks, the difficulty of seducing her repelled anyone with even a shred of intellect. Plus, the clan was convinced she'd marry the future clan head, so in the end, the guys stopped even glancing at her gorgeous figure, not wanting extra trouble.

Looks from guys outside the clan weren't even discussed. Anyone without proper status didn't dare ogle women from noble clans under threat of having their eyes gouged out. There weren't many precedents, but one loud one happened six years ago, when a commoner accepted into the elite shinobi academy on a social program under the Third Hokage's "Will of Fire" policy dared hit on a Hyuga Clan girl he liked and forcibly hugged her.

Half a day later, several Hyuga Clan members visited his home but met fierce resistance from his father, who also happened to be a Tokubetsu Jonin. He drove off the two arriving Chunin and quickly sent his eldest son for help to the Konoha police.

By the time more serious forces arrived, the whole neighborhood was in an uproar, and the news reached the Hokage himself. But unfortunately, when Hiruzen arrived, the father's offender was on his last breath. Half his internal organs had been playfully ruptured by a Hyuga Clan Jonin's gentle fist, and the man died minutes later.

A huge scandal erupted, and Hiruzen, digging in his heels, demanded compensation from the Hyuga Clan and took the boy under his personal protection. The Hyuga Clan offered no apologies, merely disavowing the rogue Jonin's actions and promising to punish him per clan rules.

After that incident, all commoners were afraid to even look at the proud daughters of great clans, so the growing Kasumi never experienced the joys of courtship from many guys—but she didn't need it, or so she thought.

Kenshin, of course, didn't know all the nuances of commoner-clan shinobi relations, but he imagined something like that. However, he was sure enough strength erased any status barriers. He vividly remembered the orphan who later became Hokage. True, he didn't know how that talented guy's path went and was almost certain it wasn't as rosy and simple as shown on screen.

Breaking his reverie, Kenshin introduced Kasumi and Ichiro, who greeted each other quite neutrally and didn't continue the conversation. Kasumi wasn't in the best mood, and besides, she paid no attention to any of these eternal Genin. She was polite to Ichiro only because he was the most promising and possibly already Chunin rank, though she wasn't sure. The rest were just basic infantry in her eyes.

Kasumi herself was predicted to reach Jonin by twenty-five, and she did everything in her power to justify those expectations. At just nineteen, she was solidly Chunin rank, so Shikaku couldn't be happier with the great match he'd raised for his only son.

While Kasumi sat on a comfortable chair, half-watching the Genin training, Kenshin decided to warm up with his two youngest sons in the next room on the ring.

Eleventh and Twelfth were thrilled that father had decided to teach them personally, so each listened to his words with full devotion. Though Fifth had explained hand-to-hand basics well enough, Kenshin's skills were far superior, so he had to correct his sons' stances and strikes to lay the proper foundation.

Correcting stances and proper swings took literally ten minutes, and Kenshin moved to light sparring, knowing well that knowledge stuck faster in practice. Especially with pain as a stimulus. He didn't use full strength, wore gloves, and hit helmet or body, but even so it wasn't pleasant. He noticed he'd gotten a bit stronger than in his past life, and probably not least thanks to that, he could easily overpower a trained girl, even without chakra.

In the midst of sparring with Twelfth, Kasumi entered the room and was a bit surprised by the fighters' gear and unusual combat style. Sitting in the trainer's chair, she began watching the unusual sparring intently.

After Twelfth took several body shots and one to the face, then fell to the ground, Kenshin ended the spar and, panting, started drinking. The fight first with Eleventh, then Twelfth, turned out surprisingly tough and exhausting. The two youngest sons under 30% base boost from 6 skill points in "Talented Offspring" were incredibly strong, fast, and tough. Kenshin won only because all their movements seemed incredibly slow to him, and he barely managed to dodge.
