Chapter 151 - Trap

At nightfall Storm followed the Nogitsune to the tunnels with Augustus that led into the district where the warehouse was located.

Much to Storm's suprise, they ended up in what appeared to be a long abandoned church.

"What is this place?" Asked Storm.

"It was originally a church dedicated Venudrian.

A god of love and peace.

Their clergy preached for peace and equal rights for humans and none humans alike.

One of the few good churches among humans. " Explained Leyocan.

"Did the Kitsune or Nogitsune have a hand in the formation of the doctrine?" Asked Storm.

Leyocan shook his head.

"No, they formed it on their own. They offered shelter to the poor, humans and none humans alike.

The tunnels were constructed to ferry freed slaves to safety. Unfortunately their message wasn't well received in the city and they were eventually driven out with false charges of corruption and treason.

Without their main base of operation they were eventually forced into the criminal underground, freeing slaves through illegal means.

The group was eventually caught and executed in front of a crowd of applauding humans. " said Leyocan sadly.

"I'm surprised they didn't burn it down." Said Storm.

"Luckily humans are somewhat superstition. They don't dare harm a religion structure because they fear that god's wrath. Even one who's doctrine they despise. " said Leyocan.

They climbed the old stairs to a large bell tower and climbed over to the rooftops and made their way to the warehouse.

They watched the building from above a short distance away. A small wall encircled the grounds and a few guards could be seen walking around the premises , but there were fewer than Storm had anticipated.

"Id have thought that they would have posted more guards if it's as important as you claimed?" Said Storm.

"More guards would have drawn more attention. " Stated Leyocan.

He made a gesture and several of his men split off to deal with the guards. They watched as the men snuck up and killed each guard quietly before hiding the bodies.

Leyocan assigned a small group to stay on the roof and keep an eye out for trouble. Augustus was also assigned to this group.

Afterwards the remaining Nogitsune and Storm met up with the others in the courtyard.

They gathered together at the doors of the warehouse, then quickly rushed in. several crates locked away in the building, with some stacks almost reaching the ceiling.

Leyocan instructed a few men to pry open the crates. As they open the first few however, they called out.

"Sensei!! You'd better take a look at this!!"

Leyocan and Storm walked over to the crate and inspected it's contents. Old papers and books, or broken tools and weapons were located inside the crates.

"Why would The Order want this?" Asked Storm puzzled.

"They won't... which can only mean one thing..." started Leyocan.

Light suddenly filled the warehouse and numerous black armored warriors stepped out of hiding and surrounded their group.

"It's a trap..." said Leyocan.

The sound of slow clapping came from an balcony above. Everyone looked up and saw a man walk up to the edge with a large group of archers.

He had short blond hair, but a shaved clean chin with no beard or mustache. He was wearing the typical brown tunic and pants with leather boots worn by hunters.

But he had a wide rimmed brown hat that would protect his face from sun exposure. In his hand was a one handed warhammer and strapped to his belt was a sword that seemed to have been forged from silver.

"Very good, Shadow Prince!! Unfortunately you figured it out a little too late!! You went through a lot of trouble to find me!! Well.... here I am!" Said the man.

"Inquisitor Travis I presume?" Said Leyocan.

"Right again, Monster! I don't suppose you'd like to make it easier on both of us and surrender now?" Said Travis.

"Never!" Growled Leyocan.

"I must admit! I'm a little disappointed at how easy your resistance movement was to track down. All I had to do was place a little bait, and you all came running. "

"So you were the one to leak this information?!" Said Leyocan.

The inquisitor nodded.

"Well even if you kill us here, the resistance lives on! And they'll claim the blood debt owed to us." Stated Leyocan.

The inquisitor smiled.

"Did you really think a seasoned hunter like me would make such a mistake? We've been tracking all your little dens for weeks! Even as we speak, more of my men are busy destroying all your little hideouts.

You are alone now, prince!" Gloated the inquisitor.

"There's one little error in your plans that you didn't account for. " said Storm.

"And what is that, little fox?" Asked the inquisitor.

Storm smiled and released the lightning he had been building up since the conversation began. Electrocuting several of The Order's men that were standing close to him. At the same time he turned into his humanoid dragon form.

"I'm not a Nogitsune." answered Storm.

He charged the nearest man that was still standing and punched him with enough force to send him through a large stack of crates.

The entire pile collapsed and buried several of the men.

"Kill them!!" Yelled the inquisitor.

Arrows flew through the air and cut down several of the Nogitsune.

"Travis is mine!!" Yelled Leyocan.

The inquisitor leaped over the balcony ledge and landed heavily on his hands and knees below.

Leyocan rushed forward and tried to stab him while he was down, but his opponent deflected the blow with his warhammer before countering with a hit of his own.

Ignoring the fight with the inquisitor for now, Storm beat down his wings and flew up to the now unprotected archers above.

They stepped back from the edge to make room and tried to draw their swords before Storm could reach them, but he managed to kill 2 before they could even draw their weapons.

They tried to rush him but he fired his lightning again and electrocuted several men before they could even reach him.

One of the men who miraculously was missed by the lightning charged at Storm's back and was just about to drive a sword through him, before an arrow struck the man down.

Storm looked down and saw Augustus standing by the entrance.

He was covered in blood and he had a nasty slash on his side that was hastily bandaged up with torn cloth, but was mostly unharmed.

Two Nogitsune from the lookout team was with him and they hastily rushed in to join the fighting.

Storm's repeated lightning attacks had set fire to the warehouse and was rapidly spreading across the room.

Without warning, a pile of crates collapsed and fell towards Leyocan and Travis, who were still dueling.

"LEYOCAN!! WATCH OUT!!!" Warned Storm.
