Storm's uncle was slowly lowered into the pit.
He was in his true dragon form, but he was barely recognizable.
A single large plate covered the top of his head, with his eyes and lower jaw left open.
Storm saw no emotion and no recognition in his eyes at all and he barely seemed to register their presence.
His entire chest and neck was covered in thick plate armor that appeared to have been wielded to his body.
Smaller plates reinforced the joints along his legs and wings, but the rest of it was still bare.
"You arrived earlier than I had hoped!
His conversion process is not yet completed, but this will be a good way to test his capabilities. " said Kaiden.
He pulled out a metal staff with a large glowing crystal at the top and pointed the crystal towards them.
"Take them alive!!" Yelled Kaiden.
The moment the order was given, Pyros began to move towards them.
Storm took his true form and stood between Pyros and the others.
"Get that Staff!! I'll keep him busy!!" Exclaimed Storm.
He rushed forward and pushed Pyros back to the wall below the balcony.
As they collided with the wall, the entire balcony shuddered and groaned from the impact.
Causing the Lich and his grandson to both stagger and lose their balance.
As they started getting back to their feet, Aurora's roar drew their attention.
She too had changed into her dragon form, beating down her wings, she dived down at one of the supports holding the balcony up.
As the entire balcony began to fall, Storm looked up and grabbed his uncle, before diving clear of the debris with him.
As Kaiden got his feet, Leyocan rushed him and grabbed hold of the staff, they then began to wrestle for possession of the staff.
A sudden hard impact drew their attention as Storm was kicked across the room by Pyros.
Storm jumped to his feet and rushed Pyros again, trying his best to keep him from coming to the Calderons aid.
The fight was not going well for Storm however.
Not only was his uncle bigger than him, but the Golem parts that covered him also greatly increased his strength and protection.
That combined with the fact that he couldn't use his full strength against Pyros meant that Storm found himself on the defensive alot more than he would like.
His only hope was that one of his companions managed to regain control of the staff that seems to be compelling his uncle.
The Lich tried to come to his Grandson's aid but a fireball from Aurora stopped him in his tracks.
"Remember me!!" Shouted Aurora.
"Of course I do, my dear!!
I also remember this!!
Sopor!!!" Shouted the Lich as he tried to cast the same sleeping spell he used last time.
He was surprised however when the spell had no effect on them.
"Won't work this time!!
I got better at magic!
Let me show you!!
She chanelled high magic, and combined it with her fire breath, before bathing the Lich in fire.
It screamed in pain as the magic turned him to ash.
She turned just in time to see the Lich's Grandson draw a ritual dagger to stab Leyocan with.
"Expelum!!" Shouted Aurora and a wall of force knocked him away.
"Thanks for the save!!" Said Leyocan.
"You're...."
A sudden impact interrupted her.
Pyros had slammed Storm into the ground and currently held him pinned to the floor.
He raised one of his forelimbs and intended to knock Storm out with it.
Leyocan pointed the staff at him.
"Stop!!"
Pyros gave no answer, but he released Storm and stepped aside.
"Destroy them!!!" Yelled Kaiden.
Pyros gave no reaction.
Leyocan grinned, then pointed the staff at him.
"Blast him!!"
Pyros turned towards Kaiden and the two plates in his chest armor opened up and revealed a cannon similar to the one they saw on the Sentry Golem.
Kaiden started to slowly back away.
A spark of electricity left one of the plates and traveled to the tube where a large blue light was growing brighter.
Kaiden began to mutter some kind of spell that Storm wasn't familiar with, which took effect at the exact time that a massive beam fired from the cannon.
It struck the wall and managed to punch a hole right through it and into the maze on the other side.
Once the blast cleared, nothing could be found of Kaiden.
"Did we kill him?" Asked Aurora.
Leyocan shook his head.
"Coward teleported away just before it hit! No doubt we'll see him again.
He's probably rallying reinforcements and returning here right now, so we'd better finish up quickly. " said Leyocan.
Aurora looked at Pyros with concern as he stood completely silent, waiting for his next command.
"How are we going to get him out of here?!"
"With this!" Answered Leyocan.
He held up the staff he had taken from Kaiden.
Aurora shifted into her human form and caught the staff as Leyocan threw it to her.
"You two should get out of here with your uncle!
I'll make sure everyone else gets out of here safely and then make sure this place can never be used again!" Said Leyocan.
"How do you intend to do that?!" Asked Storm.
Leyocan gave no answer, but he grinned and turned his gaze to the large crystal in the room.
"Let me search the office for useful information first!!" Said Storm.
"Make it quick!! We don't know how long before reinforcements get here!!"
Storm changed into his humanoid dragon form and flew back to the office.
He scratched through the papers and took anything that seemed valuable.
He was just about to leave when his eyes fell on an oval object that was located behind a glass panel on top of a display case.
Tiny green and gold scales covered the surface of the object.
It was roughly the size of a vase.
Storm realized what it was immediately.
"A dragon egg!!" Thought Storm.
He rushed towards it and smashed the glass, before carefully placing both hands on it.
"Storm!! Hurry up!! I can't delay activating the crystal any longer!!" Yelled Leyocan.
Storm left the office and ran back to the pit. Aurora was already waiting outside with Pyros.
She was currently riding on top of him in her human form and was seated in a small hollow near Pyros's shoulders.
"Are you sure you're going to be fine?" Asked Storm.
"Don't worry about me!! I'll make sure to send these people to you once it's safe to do so!
They're going to need healing and a new purpose once they've been freed.
I hope you can provide it!!" Said Leyocan.
"Thank you for all the help!! Best of luck to you!!" Said Storm.
Leyocan nodded his head and Storm flew up to the hole in the roof.
Storm looked around and saw they were standing at the top of one of the mountains that surrounded the city.
He placed the egg on the ground and quickly turned into his true form.
He grasped the egg with both his forelimbs, then took flight.
20 minutes later as they were flying over the ocean, Storm heard a distant bang like the sound of thunder.
He looked back and saw a large explosive cloud of dust had risen into the sky.
