With the meeting over.
Storm and Aurora left the Arcanium before things blew up and the arguments became even more heated.
Especially when he heard the investigators call in the Golems to disperse the angry crowd and restore order.
"Do you think they discovered our theft last night?" Asked Aurora.
"I doubt it, seems like they're just investigating Hargreave's disappearance for now.
It's only a matter of time though. Especially if they decide to check the vault.
We need to be done with our business here and long gone by the time that happens. " Explained Storm.
Storm went searching with his mind until he stumbled across Leyocan's thoughts.
"Leyocan!! It seems your absence has been noticed!!" Said Storm.
"I heard! Apparently Lucius is already working in the problem! Don't worry about it!"
Storm cut his connection but something must have tipped Aurora off about what he was doing.
"What did he say?" Asked Aurora.
"He said the Nogitsune are already working on the problem, and that we don't have to worry. "
"Soooo.... What now? Do we return to the Nogitsune safehouse until this blows over or..."
"We... probably should... but.." Storm replied.
The truth was that Storm didn't really want to return to those restricted tunnels again to wait.
He would be bored out of his mind there, and with his stay in Arcadia coming to a close, he would have liked to see more of the city before circumstances forced him to leave again.
"Why don't we go explore the city together? Just the two of us?" Suggested Storm.
"I'd like that. Where shall we go?" She asked.
Storm stopped one of the passersby.
"Excuse me, sir? We're new to the city, can you recommend any new attractions in the city that would be of interest to us?"
"I believe the mage's arena is running a tournament?
You can go check there? Also, I believe the Floating Carnival is in town too."
Storm asked directions to these two places and after taking note of the instructions, he turned to Aurora.
"Which one would you like to see first?"
"I think let's go to the arena first? I'm eager to learn more magic. We might learn a thing or two from watching the combatants?" Suggested Aurora.
With their mind made up, they walked through the city towards the large arena where the games took place.
Unlike most Arena battles, the ones located in Arcadia were purely focused on magic and no physical combat matches were hosted inside it's walls.
Two combatants would meet in the center of the ring and would begin hurling spells at each other.
The battlegrounds were surrounded by runes that weakened the potency of the spells being thrown around in order to protect the combatants from death.
But it didn't completely dull the danger either and it was uncommon for the healing officials to be called in after an especially damaging strike from a combatant.
The match was won with a three strike system.
Every time a combatant managed to bypass his opponent's defenses and score a hit.
A mark would be placed on that wizard.
If they received a third mark, they were automatically disqualified and the match would end.
It was a game that tested magical knowledge, especially in multiple fields of magic, as well as reflexes.
Storm and Aurora bought two tickets and joined the crowd as the next 2 combatants stepped onto the field.
One was a young mage with shoulder length black hair and a small goatee beard.
He had a pure white robe with flamelike patterns embroidered over the robe with gold thread.
In his hand he held a simple wand with a tip that resembled a star.
A simple red sash was hanged over his shoulder to mark which team he was fighting for.
His opponent was a light-skinned and with a long black beard that had begun to turn grey with age.
He had no hair at on top of his head, just a glowing golden rune that covered the entirety of his head.
He wore a deep blue robe, and in his hand was a wooden staff with a light blue crystal at the tip.
Like his opponent, he had a sash around his shoulder.
But his was an azure blue color that was similar in color to Storm's scales.
The two combatants walked towards the center of the ring.
They shook hands before turning around and making their way to the positions marked for them to stand in.
"Welcome all!! To another splendid match!! Today we have a special treat for you all today!!
All the way from the mystical Haradin Desert, a member of the mysterious Magi's tower please welcome, Tempus!!"
The man in blue robes bowed as the crowd cheered.
"And his opponent today!!
The third son of Magister Caliban, Top student at the Helios school of Pyromancy!! It's Kestor!!
The young man gave a wave to the crowd as they all cheered loudly.
The names of the two combatants appeared on two boards on either side of the announcer.
3 greyed out X's appeared below each combatants.
"Rules are the same of always.
Whomever manages to bypass his opponent's defenses 3 times will be declared the winner!!
This combatant will move up the ladder and will be one step closer to the grand prize!!"
A pedestal opened and revealed a glowing golden orb that continued to release arcs of electricity.
"A pure lightning core from an ancient Storm Elemental.
Worth thousands of gold pieces!!"
Storm eyed the core with envy.
He remembered the last lightning core he had retrieved from the Elemental that was guarding the secret laboratory in Dust'an's old cave.
It gave him a significant boost in power at the time and this one in front of him seemed even stronger than the one he had retrieved there.
"Storm!! Don't even think about it!!" Came Mimereus's warning.
"What?!" Asked Storm innocently.
"Even if you could retrieve that core safely, there's no telling what a core that size would do to you when absorbed!!" Answered Mimereus.
"Imagine the powerboost I would get from consuming it!!" Exclaimed Storm.
"It could also cause your heart to give out!!
You're much to young to consider absorbing such a large prize!!
Don't be a glutton!!" Replied Mimereus.
"Fine!!" Grumbled Storm.
He then settled down to watch as the match began.
