Kalipso moved aside as Storm made his way into the office and closed the door behind him.
She flew back into the keyhole and locked it again from the inside as a precaution in case someone came to check the office.
Once she was done, she rejoined Storm again.
"So.... what are we looking for again?!" Asked Kalipso.
"A long key to open the vault door with, information on where Pyros is being held, and any information about where to find their dragon breeding base."He replied.
"Right!! I'll check the desk!! You check the shelves!!" Exclaimed Kalipso.
They seperated and began searching through their respective areas.
Storm flipped through several files until he came across one that caught his eye.
The file held a diagram of a armored suit for a humanoid that had some draconic features including wings and a tail.
"What is this thing supposed to be?" Thought Storm.
He read the file and found that it was called 'Project Draconian' and it seemed to be a project to create a some form of 'super soldier'
Before he could investigate further, Kalipso called him over.
He placed the file back in it's original place, before making his way to the desk.
"Is this what you're looking for?" Asked Kalipso.
She held up a long key that was bigger than her entire body with an jade gem carved in the shape of a skull in the handle.
"That's it!! Well done!!"
Storm took out a smaller key and placed it on the table beside the vault key.
"Can you make that key look like the vault one?
She hovered above both keys and made a series of dramatic gestures that Storm was convinced was unnecessary for the spell to work.
After a few minutes, the regular key blurred, before turning into an exact copy of the vault key.
"There we go! The illusion has a duration of 1 week before the key reverts to it's original shape.
I only hope he doesn't try and use it in that time! It obviously won't fit the lock." Explained Kalipso.
"According to Leyocan, they don't regularly check the vault. We should be fine."
Storm pocketed the vault key while Kalipso placed the fake one in it's place.
She pulled open a drawer and revealed a large tome filled with business transactions.
"Can you help me with this? It's too heavy for me!" Said Kalipso.
Storm took it out of the drawer and placed it on the table for her.
After opening it, she began to flip through the pages, while Storm scanned through the files along the wall.
A large, folded up map caught his eye.
It depicted an unnamed mountain range and the area around it.
Some of the landmarks on the map seemed familiar to Storm, but he was unable to figure out exactly where this mountain range was located.
"Maybe Razor will be able to make sense of it?!" Thought Storm.
"Kalipso!! Can you make a fake copy of this?!!"
"I'd need a blank page roughly the same size to create the illusion on!
It won't work otherwise!" She replied.
Storm looked around until he found such a page, he placed the 2 documents beside each other and Kalipso made the copy with her magic.
He put the fake map in it's place before carefully rolling up the real map and placed it in one of his pockets.
Next he found what appeared to be construction plans for a large base inside the same mountain that they also copied and pocketed to inspect later.
"Anything interesting in there?"
"Plenty. It seems your Lich has been busy with a wide variety of experiments. All focused on your race.
There's reports of several laboratories scattered all over the continent, but it fortunately seems like most of them has been destroyed or abandoned. " Explained Kalipso.
"Anything about what they're planning to do with this research?"
"Something about 'indoctrination' but I can't tell what that is.
Based on what I'm reading though.
They were very focused on finding out how to bypass draconic magical resistances?
Especially the ones that protect your mind from manipulation?" Explained Kalipso.
"What ever it is! It can't be good for my kind! We'd better...." started Storm.
The door handle suddenly started to rattle as someone began unlocking the door.
"Aurora was supposed to warn me if he left!!" Thought Storm.
He frantically looked around until his eyes fell on a medium-sized wardrobe.
"In here!" Whispered Storm.
As he and Kalipso squeezed into the Wardrobe, his eyes fell on the open tome sitting on the desk.
"The tome!!" Whispered Storm.
Kalipso quickly flew to the gap in the wardrobe and cast a spell that rendered the tome invisible at the exact time that Kaiden Calderon walked into the office.
He eyed the desk suspiciously, before shaking his head and making his way towards the files along the walls.
He took out the file marked 'Project Draconian ' and was just about to leave, when his eyes fell on the partially opened wardrobe.
Storm held his breath as Kaiden slowly walked towards the wardrobe.
He stopped right in front of the door and placed a hand on the handle when a voice called out.
"Excuse me!! Kaiden Calderon?! Your grandfather was looking for you earlier and requested that you report to the laboratory immediately!!"
"Tell my grandfather I'll be there momentarily!! I'm in the middle of something!!"
"I'm afraid he was quite insistent that you reported in immediately, sir! It seemed like the matter was quite urgent!!"
Kaiden hesitated with an irritated look on his face, before finally responded.
"Tell my grandfather..... I shall report in at once!!!"
Kaiden stepped away from the wardrobe and walked towards the office door.
After stepping out and closing it again, he locked the door and Storm could hear his footsteps fading as he walked away.
Storm breathed out a sigh of relief.
"That was too close!!"
"Indeed!! Let's grab what we can and get out of here before he decides to come back!!" Exclaimed Kalipso.
They returned the Tome to it's original place and Kalipso unlocked the door for Storm.
After checking to ensure there was no one else in the corridor, they left together and Kalipso secured the door again before taking refuge in Storm's body again.
