The two adversaries began to circle each other as they studied each other looking for openings.
Blood Tusk was the one to make the opening move, closing the distance between them with 3 long steps, before chopping at Leyocan.
He dodged each strike directly at him, before sommersault backwards through the air in order put some distance between them.
He spun his sword by his side, before taking a two handed grip on his sword.
Leyocan moved so fast, that it appeared as just an blur to his opponent. He appeared in front of him and stabbed the orc right through his chest.
The orc barely showed any reaction however as he cocked his head back and gave Leyocan a headbutt that sent him flying backwards.
He hit the ground backfirst, before rolling backwards onto his feet and stopping his backwards momentum by stabbing his sword into the ground.
Once his movement stopped, he ripped the sword out of the ground.
Leyocan spat a glob of blood from his mouth, then took a crouched stance.
Much to the orc's suprise, Leyocan sheathed his sword, while keeping his right hand close to the hilt.
Blood Tusk raised his axe overhead for a strike, but Leyocan moved in a blur again as the orc closed the distance.
A ringing sound echoed down the tunnels as Leyocan pulled his sword from his scabbard and slashed at the incoming axe.
He struck the handle, just below the axe head, and it fell to the ground as Leyocan cut clean through the weapon.
He sidesteped to the left and struck the orc in his now exposed side.
The orc Bellowed in rage and tried to strike back with his last remaining axe, but a quick upwards slash for Leyocan severed his arm and caused him to drop his remaining weapon.
He howled in pain before Leyocan stepped behind him with some fancy footwork. He moved in a blur and his sword ringed through the tunnels as he struck.
Bloodtusk was on his knees with a dumbfounded on his face.
Leyocan flicked the blood from his sword with a quick swipe, before returning it to his scabbard.
As he sheathed his sword, half of Blood Tusk's head seperated from the other and fell to the ground.
The rest of his body fell a moment later.
Now that his opponent had been slain, Leyocan was able to get a better look at the dwarf's face.
He was actually suprising tall for a dwarf at just under 5 feet, he was completely bald, but had a tattoo of a serpentine dragon on both of his cheeks.
The heads of these serpentine dragons met up at the center of his forehead and were staring longingly at each other as if they were going to kiss one another.
His braided black beard traveled all the way down to his waist. He'd lost an eye in a battle and in it's place was an black eyepatch
He walked over to the wounded dwarf, that was just beginning to stir. And held out an hand to help him up.
The dwarf slapped the hand away, before rising up to his feet by himself.
Leyocan rolled his eyes.
"I had things under control!" Exclaimed the dwarf.
"My apologies then! I probably jumped in too quickly, didn't I?" Leyocan said sarcastically.
"Don't get snippy with me!!"
Leyocan rolled his eyes again.
"Look!! I don't have time to stroke your.... ego...! Are you Gavin or not?!"
"That's 'captain' Gavin! And it depends on who's asking!"
"Leyocan"
"Never heard of em." Replied Gavin.
"I'm a family friend of Onyx."
"Now, why didn't you just say that in the first place! I am indeed 'CAPTAIN' Gavin!
I'll admit though, I'm suprised he went to all this trouble to rescue me."
"He didn't... I came of my own volition despite his protests."
"And why would you do this!? We've never met!" Asked Gavin.
"I have need of your services, captain! And your expertise. "
The dwarf smiled from ear to ear, revealing golden teeth.
"Lookin to do a spot of piratin, lad?" Asked Gavin.
"No, I just need you to take us somewhere. "
Gavin frowned.
"You could have asked any old bootlicker for that?!
So why go through all this trouble?!" Asked Gavin.
"They ask too many questions. " answered Leyocan.
Gavin nodded his head.
"Ahh!! I see how it is!! Very well!!
We have an accord!!
Get me out of here and I will do what I can. Provided that whatever you ask doesn't go against my principles. " said Gaven.
The dwarf stepped past Leyocan and bent down to take the axe that was still being held by the orc's severed hand.
He walked towards the entrance of the cell and was about to turn in the direction of the stairs that led to the surface, Leyocan called out to him.
"Not that way!! The other way!!"
"Are you daft, lad!? That leads deeper into this Abyss!!"
"Escape has already been planned, just trust me!!" Said Leyocan.
He walked past the dwarf and deeper into the prison.
The dwarf grumbled something under his breath, before running after him.
Leyocan encountered no further enemies and the prison had grown unnaturally quiet.
When Leyocan found the stairs leading to the final floor of the prison, Gavin called out.
"That leads to a dead end, lad."
"Does it?"
Leyocan ignored him further and made his descent.
He walked down a long corridor, past rooms filled with machinery that Leyocan hoped he'd never discover their purpose for.
After a few minutes, he walked into a room that was completely bare except for a large chute that emptied out who knows where.
The floor and walls were covered in dried blood and the whole room reeked of death.
" I told you this leads nowhere!! What now, genius!?"
The dwarf went to sit on the edge of the chute and crossed his arms in annoyance.
"You can swim, right?" Asked Leyocan.
The dwarf seemed deeply offended by the question.
"What kind of mariner do you take me for!!? Of course I can swim you blasted...."
Before he could finish, Leyocan shoved him backwards and after flailing his arms for a moment, he fell screaming into the chute.
Leyocan grinned, then jumped feet first into the chute after him.
He kept his arms close to his body as he slided down the chute.
After a few minutes, he was dropped outside the cliffs.
He took a deep breath, before he hit the deep dark waters feet first.
He looked around, trying to spot Gavin in the gloom, but was unable to see anything in the dark waters.
A blur flashed through the waters in front of him and Leyocan flinched in response.
He saw two golden eyes glowing up ahead, before kicking away from his position.
A set of open jaws passed through the space he was in an moment ago.
Although the creature passed quickly, Leyocan was able to identify it as a Sea Leviathan.
A creature that closely resembled dragons with the same long serpentine neck, fang filled snout and scaly bodies, though they were less intelligent than their sky bound kin, lacked wings, and had 4 flippers, instead of legs.
The creature twisted through the water, before turning back and glaring at Leyocan.
At that moment, Leyocan saw a kicking bulge halfway down the creature's neck.
He shook his head, then drew his sword.
"You shouldn't have done that!! Now I'll have to kill you!!" Thought Leyocan.
