The ground trembled violently. Cracks spiderwebbed across the stone floor, and from those cracks, dark mist poured upward. Along the walls, sections of stone began to slide aside—hidden doors grinding open, revealing pitch-black passages beyond.
Andrey's blood ran cold. "Get ready!"
From the newly opened passages, shapes emerged. Twisted, horned creatures with glowing red eyes—lesser demons, their bodies wreathed in dark mana. They moved with jerky, unnatural grace, claws scraping the stone as they advanced.
Sein raised her gauntlets, crimson flames roaring to life. "I'll hold the left flank!"
Sarah's wand blazed pink. "Right flank is mine!"
Andrey planted himself in front of Lisa, who still had her hand pressed against the dark mirror, her face pale with concentration. "I'll cover the center. No one gets near her."
