It was a cool evening and the sun had just taken an orange hue above a busy city, a huge crowd made its way out of the subway and one man escaped the mob .The workweek had drained every ounce of life from him, and all he wanted was food, sleep, and maybe a quick visit to a cat cafe to fondle some cats and feel human again, he took a shortcut through an alley.
" Ahh, finally the weekend is here, man this week has been hectic I can't wait to go home and rest, or maybe I should go see Veronica, petting her cats always replenishes me, hmm I think I'll go tomorrow - huh what's that? No way way am I so tired I'm seeing things? Whatever if it's a hallucination I'll enjoy it while it lasts."

" Uhh... My head ... Where am I, huh ... Is someone talking?"
strange room greeted her it had bright walls, soft lighting odd furniture, a rectangular glowing object mounted on a wall.
"What manner of chamber is this…?"
Her voice came out as:
Yip.
The hero froze.
"…No."
She tried again.
"I demand answers!"
Yip! Yip!
Her eyes widened in horror. Then she heard a voice.
"I'm telling you Veronica! Two strays in one alley, I feel like I hit the jackpot.... What no of course I didn't steal them what do you take me for... What hey that time was different I didn't steal that puppy I was trying to help it find its owner, I'll have you know that that little girl was very happy to see me bring her dog back... What's that supposed to - oh wait Veronica I'll call you back bye."
" Huh it's that guy I saw earlier did he bring me here? Hold on where is here? Wait why is he running towards me? No stay back!"
" Hey easy there little one, calm down I'm not gonna hurt you, are you hungry boy... or girl crap I forgot to check."
" I need to escape I'll move back slowly and bolt once I - ah"
" Hey don't move too much your leg isn't doing to well it appears to be twisted "
The hero looked down at what were supposed to be her feet and to her shock she saw paws, tiny ones and one of her legs was bandaged, when she looked back she saw a mirror and this cleared all doubts she had.
" No way I'm a dog, how, why oh wait that girl from before I can't remember her name, wait that's not the issue what has she done to me?" The former hero was so preoccupied she didn't notice the human in front of her cautiously slipping his hand beneath her chin, he gently stroked her in shock she tried to jump back but her body didn't obey,the sensual feeling of being stroked was overwhelming and somewhat calming soon she was lying down with her eyes half closed
" Hold on what's going on, I'm Mina the hero of the luminous blade, the empire's chosen champion! What am I doing allowing myself to be caressed by ... Oh man that feels good... No! I must exhibit discipline for I am the .... Ahhh yeah just a bit left yeah right there wait this isn't right!"
'Growl'
The hero was so shocked and embarrassed that she hung her head and looked away and she soon heard a giggle
" Looks like someone is hungry, I doubt you're able to eat solid food so what should I give you? Let me ask Veronica"
As the man stood up the heroes Mina's eyes unconsciously trailed his hands as she longed to feel the sensual feeling once again but all he gave her was a smile that made her turn away in embarrassment the man pulled a strange rectangular object from his pocket and put it to his ear.
" Hey V yeah yeah whatever listen what food is good for puppies... Oh ok wait what about cats?... Milk ? Oh ok how about some from a conviniece store... Yes a cat and a dog ... Of course I'm sober have you seen me go out drinking?... I'm telling you I'm not seeing things or at least I don't think I am ...Exactly if you don't believe me come tomorrow... Sure ...."
Soon the man was too far for Mina to hear but suddenly she heard something that made her dog ears perk up in a different direction, she looked into a dark corner and saw two glowing orbs with thin lines in the middle ,a cat stepped into the light.
Black fur, golden eyes ,the same smug expression she had worn while destroying armies.
The Demon Lord.
"Well," said the cat smoothly, "this is humiliating."
Mina barked in outrage.
"You!"
Juri's ears twitched.
"And judging by that shrill noise," she said, "you must be the Hero."
Mina lunged.
Her injured leg gave out instantly.
She faceplanted.
Juri stared.
" My how grace has fallen, but hey it suits you after all you were basically the empire's dog, mindlessly wagging your tail and following commands"
"You overgrown rat!"
The demon lord gasped dramatically.
"Rat? I am clearly a superior species."
" Well the obnoxious and attention seeking nature of a cat suits you well too"
"Me? Attention seeking? Spare me"
" It's true, so you lost parents in a fire there was no need to go on rampage and devastate the entire empire generations later, you were like an attention seeking baby having a tantrum "
"That's not true, besides the empire was the one that started the fire that killed my parents but hey I wouldn't expect their dog to have the brains to understand loss"
" You want to talk about loss, do you know what I've had to go through because you, you need to know not everything is about you "
" You know nothing about me !"
Suddenly the black cat lunged at the puppy and soon they began to wrestle while snarling at each other once again oblivious to a third presence.
" Awww look at you two bonding already, ok enough here at least eat first, hey don't ignore me"
Soon the dog and cat were being seperated and both finally became aware of the man and their expressions turned from anger to fear. He placed bowls in front of them.
Milk.
The smell hit instantly.
The dog's stomach growled.
Cat's tail twitched.
Neither moved.
The hero lifted her chin.
"I refuse to drink from a bowl."
The demon lord sat elegantly.
"As do I."
They held eye contact
" Hey you were always like dog and now that you really are one there's no shame in drinking from a bowl like any dog would" the demon lord said.
" Aren't cats the one's that like milk why don't you partake I bet it's taking everything in you to resist no use resisting your true nature" the hero replied
"Hey don't worry about me, unlike you I was once human so I have dignity to keep"
" Are you saying I was always an animal ?"
" Hey hey I didn't say anything about you so if you think you were always an animal then it's good to know you're finally being honest with yourself"
" How dare you -"
Suddenly the two bowls began to move away and the man spoke.
"Huh looks like neither of you are fond of milk- ah would you look at that you just needed a little motivation."
Both pets were frantically licking the milk at this point neither one focused on the other and both drank till they were full.
"Ok good now that that's done it's time for introductions, I'm Mike I'm 23 and I'm - wait why am I introducing myself to pets it's not like they'll understand... Haha silly me, oh wait that means I'll have to name you two, oh man names are not my strong suit how about I just call you doggy and meow"
Suddenly both pets snapped at him
" Ok ok let me put in some effort this time hmmm let me think"
" Hey listen I have a name it's Mina, Mina! got that" the dog tried to communicate but it was futile all that left its mouth were tiny barks and the cat joined
" I'm Juri the great demon lord who brought the empire to it's knees-"
"Did not"
"Did too"
" The empire never fell to the likes of you which is why it's -"
" Shut up you mutt I'm trying to say something important, now where was I if you name me it must be something great like lioness, or tiger or even Aphrodite -"
" Did you just call me a mutt! Oh wait and why would he ever call you Aphrodite?"
" It would be a testament to my beauty "
" You ? beautiful? Those words shouldn't be found in the same sentence "
" How dare you are you saying you were so blind you couldn't see my beauty"
" No I'm saying your so called beauty was non existent in fact I'll have you know eight men have asked for my hand in marriage how many have asked you, if even one has managed I tell you right here right now I'll eat my tail"
" What that's not fair most men were too busy fearing me to be interested in that way"
" Oh sure they were -"
"Aha I got it I'll name the dog porridge and you the cat will be custard "
" Are you kidding me !" The dog and cat shouted in unison
" All that time you took thinking and yet you couldn't come up with a decent name for me the great Juri!"
" Porridge and custard are basically the same thing aren't they, ain't no way I'm sharing something common with her"
" Well I'm glad we can finally agree on something, Mina such a mediocre name"
" And juri is better?"
" Yes because it almost sounds like jewelry "
" Haha very funny " mina replied in a sarcastic tone but once again Mike had an idea
" I'll just ask the internet for pet names.... Ok puppy I'll name you pickles"
At this moment mina was sure if she was human her jaw would drop right of her face, in rage she lunged at his toe and did the most damage her tiny teeth could let her and to her dismay the man just laughed
" Hey stop that it tickles, hahaha."
" I'm going to bite your leg off just wait, how dare you name me after the worst fruit in existence "
" Ah I believe pickles are a vegetable " corrected juri.
" Whatever! All that matters is that they are the worst !"
After a while mina gave up and let his toes live to see another day. And once again the man exclaimed both pets expected the worst...
" How about Chelsea the dog and Nike the cat"
" Oh wow it's actually normal this time" mina exclaimed
" Well if memory serves me right Nike is the goddess of victory, it may not be Aphrodite but it's close enough so I guess I'll let you call me by that ,human or Mike was it !"
" Well judging by how excited you two are acting, you like the names, man I can finally go sleep it's been a long day" the man lay on his carpet thinking to himself " Chelsea and Nike, those are the names of my favourite waifus from that one game I played oh well it's not like anyone will know right"
Mike then got up prepared his own dinner prepared seperate beds for the pets and wished them goodnight before turning of the lights and going to his room.
A few minutes later.
"Psssst, hey Juri, hey I know you can hear me, Nike!"
" Oh you were talking I never noticed "
" How annoying, anyway you mind if we sleep together "
" Huh are you crazy I would move heaven and earth before the day I share a bed with you"
" Please"
" No besides what's gotten into you all of a sudden"
" It's embarrassing "
" Just tell me"
" I'm afraid of the dark ok"
" Ha ! Mina the hero of the luminous blade, the empire's chosen one is afraid of the dark? Haha please tell me you're trying to be funny"
" No I'm dead serious!"
" (Sighs) Fine as long as I can get to torment you about this for the rest of your life and plus it's cold"
" Fine whatever now move over"
" Ok ok."
"Goodnight... I guess"
" Yeah yeah you too"
That night both slept next to each other neither one imagining they'd ever find themselves in such a situation, everything was peaceful until.
" Hey Chelsea, stop fidgeting you're disturbing me."
" I can't I have a bit of a situation here"
" What is it this time?"
" I really really have to go, like really bad"
" If it's so bad do it right there you're an animal now"
" What hell no !"
" Well then we are both doomed"
" Huh we?"
" I've got to go too"
" You have got to be kidding me!"
Outside Mike's bedroom door, two tiny shadows began pacing in panic.
