Chapter 11 - Truth, Trials, and a Mother's Strength

Episode 11 — Truth, Trials, and a Mother's Strength

Anita refused to give up. She had already tried several ways to break Amreen's engagement, but nothing had worked so far. Still determined, she decided to take a more direct and dangerous step. She called Amreen's mother-in-law and filled her ears with lies. She claimed that Amreen liked another man and did not truly want this marriage.

The accusation was completely false, but it created immediate fear in the mind of Amreen's mother-in-law. She began to worry that if there was even a small chance of this being true, they might lose a good match. Amreen was educated, having completed her FSc, and she worked as a teacher in a private school. She was also beautiful and well-mannered—qualities that made her highly desirable as a bride.

On the other hand, her son Waseem was quite the opposite. He was uneducated and had been working in a factory since a very young age. His salary was low, and there was no sign of progress or ambition in his life. He neither had the passion to improve nor the ability to make independent decisions. In reality, it was pure luck that a girl like Amreen was willing to marry him.

Because of this fear, Amreen's mother-in-law immediately went to Tahir's house to fix the wedding date, wanting to secure the relationship before anything could go wrong.

A Decision Against Opposition

Amreen's extended family—both from her maternal and paternal sides—strongly opposed this marriage. They believed that Waseem was not a suitable match for her. However, Tahir made the decision to proceed. His reasoning was simple: Waseem was a known boy from the family. In a world where many unknown alliances ended in betrayal, choosing someone familiar felt safer.

After keeping the engagement for four years, the wedding date was finally set, and the marriage took place.

Reality After Marriage

Soon after the wedding, the truth began to reveal itself. Everything that Amreen's family had feared turned out to be correct.

Waseem lacked confidence, decision-making ability, and responsibility. He did not take initiative in anything. Whatever his mother or brothers said, he followed without question. He had no independent thinking or drive to improve his life.

His sisters-in-law were also uneducated, and instead of accepting Amreen warmly, they became jealous of her education and background. This jealousy slowly turned into harsh behavior.

Just one month after the wedding, Amreen became pregnant. It should have been a moment of happiness, but instead, it marked the beginning of another difficult phase in her life.

Pain Without Care

During the early days of her pregnancy, Amreen experienced severe pain. However, neither her mother-in-law nor Waseem took her condition seriously. They did not take her to a doctor or try to understand what she was going through.

Since it was her first pregnancy, Amreen herself did not realize what the pain meant. She assumed it might be kidney pain and continued to suffer in silence.

Eventually, when the pain became unbearable, she grew frightened and called her aunt, Rani. Her aunt and uncle immediately came and took her to a lady doctor.

After examining her, the doctor smiled and said,

"There is no need to worry. This is good news—you are pregnant."

Happiness at Tahir's Home

When the news reached Tahir and his daughters, their house filled with joy. After nearly sixteen to seventeen years, a child was going to be born in the family. Tahir was going to become a grandfather, and his daughters were going to become aunts.

It was a moment of celebration for them.

But while Tahir's house was filled with happiness, Amreen's life at her in-laws' home remained difficult.

A Difficult Pregnancy

Despite being pregnant, Amreen was not given rest. Her mother-in-law and sisters-in-law made her do excessive household work. She was not allowed to rest properly, nor was she given proper food or nutrition.

As her delivery date came closer, there was another complication. There were no women at Tahir's house who could take care of her during delivery. So it was decided that her delivery would take place near Waseem's home, where facilities were more convenient.

Doctors had already informed that her delivery would require a C-section operation.

Avoiding Responsibility

However, just one day before the scheduled delivery, Waseem unexpectedly brought Amreen to Tahir's house and left her there. He made excuses, saying that the hospital near his home was not good.

In reality, the truth was different. Waseem knew that a C-section operation would cost around fifty thousand, along with additional expenses for medicines, drips, and other needs. He wanted to avoid these costs.

Meanwhile, his mother began spreading a different story within the family, claiming that Tahir had taken Amreen himself because he wanted the delivery to happen near his own home.

The Truth Comes Out

When this story reached Tahir's nephew, Humayo, he found it suspicious. He knew that Tahir's house had no women, so it did not make sense for him to bring Amreen there for delivery.

Humayo decided to find out the truth himself. He went to Tahir's house and spoke directly to him.

Tahir clarified everything and said,

"Your aunt is lying. Waseem himself left Amreen here."

Hearing this, Humayo became angry. When Amreen also learned the truth, she was deeply hurt and upset.

That same night, at around 11 PM, Amreen made a firm decision. She said to her father,

"I want to go back to my in-laws' house. My father's respect is more important to me than my life."

A Night of Confrontation

Despite her condition, they traveled for two hours and reached Waseem's house at around 1 AM. Everyone there was shocked to see them.

Realizing their mistake, Waseem's family apologized for their false statements. However, the matter did not settle easily. Arguments continued throughout the night.

Finally, it was decided that Amreen would be taken to the hospital near Tahir's house for delivery.

A Moment of Truth

By 5 AM, they reached the hospital, and at 6 AM, Amreen's operation began.

Both families gathered at the hospital. Tahir, his daughters, Amreen's aunt, and members of her in-laws' family were all present.

But when the doctor asked for blood, a shocking reality came forward. All of Waseem's brothers made excuses and left, saying they were unwell.

At that critical moment, it was Amreen's uncle who stepped forward and donated blood.

Waseem, instead of standing by his wife, made an excuse and went back to Tahir's house to rest. He showed no concern for Amreen during one of the most critical moments of her life.

A New Life Begins

Through immense pain and struggle, Amreen gave birth to a beautiful baby boy by the grace of Allah.

Tahir lovingly recited the call to prayer (Azan) in the baby's ear. Amreen's eldest sister performed the traditional ghutti ritual, and her youngest sister gave the child a name—Rooshan.

Rooshan became a symbol of hope and happiness for Tahir's family. He was deeply loved by his grandfather, aunts, and uncle.

Cruelty Towards Innocence

However, life in Waseem's family remained harsh.

When Rooshan was just one and a half years old, a painful incident occurred. Waseem's younger brother, Shakeel, slapped the child simply because he touched his mobile charger.

The tiny child's face bore the marks of fingers—a heartbreaking sight.

Waseem tried to question his brother, but instead of supporting him, his mother took Shakeel's side. She even told Waseem to leave the house with his wife and child.

A New Beginning with Struggles

This deeply hurt Waseem. From the age of thirteen, he had worked and handed over his entire salary to his mother. The house they lived in had also been built with his earnings, yet he was asked to leave without consideration.

Left with no choice, Waseem took Amreen and Rooshan and left the house.

For the time being, he brought them to Tahir's home and began searching for a rented place. Tahir helped him by arranging a small house nearby.

They moved there, but financial struggles soon began to surface. Waseem's salary was extremely low, and it became difficult to manage rent, bills, and the expenses of raising a child.

Amreen's Strength

In the face of these challenges, Amreen made a strong decision. She chose to work and support her family.

She took a job as a teacher in a foundation school. With her earnings, she began contributing to household expenses and managing the financial burden.

During her working hours, she left Rooshan in the care of her sister Samreen and her father. In the afternoon, Tahir would bring Rooshan back home.

Despite all the hardships, Rooshan grew up surrounded by love from his grandfather, aunts, and uncle. He became the center of their happiness.
