"I hate to admit it but I feel very insecure about my daughter, my own daughter" Ling Rui said "Thud" the shopping bags fell on the floor making a small noise which attracted their attention to Mu Xiu who was standing with tears rolling down from her eyes. "Xiu" Ling Rui called out startled, Mu Xiu gave her a smile before hurriedly walking out of the house. The Mu brothers chased after her but she was already gone, Ling Rui slumped on the floor and bawled it her eyes while Mu Linfeng helplessly comforted her.
Mu Xiu didn't know when and how she got back to the presidential Villa, she stood close to the window in deep thought reflecting on herself. It has been more than six years now since she returned to the Mu family and during this time she knew that she had not always been around but she didn't except that her mom would feel this way towards her. She was so deep in her thoughts that she didn't realize that Pei Qianhao was standing behind her and watching her every move. He walked up to her with his hands in his trouser pocket
"I remember giving you a day off" he said looking outside the window too
"All this while I've been hurting Mom and I didn't even know about it, I'm really a bad daughter" she said crying softly, Pei Qianhao just listened without interrupting her
"I didn't know that my mom was this insecure and as her daughter it's my fault for making her feel this way" she said turning to him with watery eyes. He brought her into his arms and hugged her then he patted her head
"Don't worry everything will be fine" he said as the only thing he could think of to say. They stayed like that for a while before Mu Xiu freed herself from his embrace, she felt embarrassed because he was always there anytime she's in a pathetic state
"Thank you" she said "for everything" she added with a tiny smile
"If you're thankful why don't you accompany me to a banquet" he replied
"And besides you could use some fresh air since you aren't in a good mood" he added seeing her hesitating
"You don't need to ask, as your bodyguard it's my duty to accompany you every where" she said acting like she didn't understand the kind of company he wanted
" No I want you to accompany me to the banquet as a female partner and not a bodyguard" he said
"But I don't have suitable clothing for such occasion" she said again trying to make him give up, but how could Pei Qianhao miss such an opportunity
"I can easily arrange that, Miss Mu you don't have to make up any more excuses just take it has you're repaying me for giving you a day off" Pei Qianhao said blocking her next line of excuses
"Okay I understand" she replied finally conceding
"Come with me" he said, Mu Xiu was clueless about his actions but she still followed him. She was brought to a room "Why am I here?" She asked a little bit confused
"Just wait for a while, there will be people here that will come and get you ready" he replied
"Ohh I understand" she said nodding her head slowly
"I have some matters to attend to when I'm done I will come and get you" he said glancing at his watch then he turned back to her, he patted her head gently then he left. Mu Xiu smiled foolishly, after some minutes she heard a knock on the door
"Come in" she answered, a lady walked in dressing extravagantly
"Hello you must be Miss Mu" the lady asked after sizing her up
"Yes I am" Mu Xiu replied
"The president sent me to get you ready for the banquet" the lady said with a polite smile
"Alright, then I will have to trouble you" Mu Xiu replied
"It's no trouble Miss Mu" the Lady replied
In a few minutes the room became filled up with different styles of gown, finally a long red gown with a fish tail hem was chosen with a diamond necklace and bracelet to match. Then they proceeded with her makeup, she just sat like a doll allowing them to do whatever they liked.
"Miss Mu, we are done you can now take a look in the mirror now" the lady announced smiling in satisfaction as she looked at Mu Xiu, Mu Xiu who was tired looked at the mirror then she froze, she almost couldn't recognize herself.
