Chapter 46 - Chapter 46: Stormterror: I'm coming in! I'm really coming in!

Watching the gigantic dragon figure confronting the cyan barrier amidst the lightning and thunder in the sky, the residents of Mondstadt all stopped in their tracks.

On that day, the Mondstadters finally recalled the terror of the dragon's attack more than ten days ago, and the fear of the Dragon Crisis that had plagued Mondstadt for five hundred years.

"It's Stormterror... Stormterror is here! Run!"

"Stormterror! Quick! To the emergency shelter!"

"Don't push! Don't push! Listen to the Knights of Favonius!"

Most residents in Mondstadt had underground wine cellars that could provide shelter, and most of the larger stone buildings had been designated as temporary shelters after the last Dragon Crisis, except for Goth Grand Hotel, which was occupied by the Fatui, and whose doors couldn't even be opened at this moment.

Different people lead different soldiers; the quality of the people under the 'Lady' was clearly inferior to those led by the 'Captain'.

At this time, the Mondstadt residents, guided by the Knights of Favonius, were running with a slight panic towards the nearest shelter.

It must be said that Orion's spur-of-the-moment sect-protecting array really bought a lot of time for the residents of Mondstadt, but these Mondstadters might really have been accustomed to their freedom and laxity, actually believing that hiding in stone buildings would keep them safe, with some even having the nerve to climb to windows and gaze towards the cathedral.

And the already limited manpower of the Knights of Favonius, even when forming ranks, had no chance of forcing back Stormterror given the huge disparity in individual combat strength. Now, they could only ready their ranged weapons or climb the city walls to set up heavy crossbows, just in case the dragon broke through the barrier, to try and drive it towards less populated areas.

On the city wall, Kaiya patted a soldier's shoulder: "Don't be so nervous, you're shaking too much to aim."

"Captain Kaiya!" The young Knight called out with a slightly elevated emotion upon seeing Kaiya approach, but immediately lowered his voice again: "But, Captain, that dragon's size is far greater than before, and its aura seems even more ominous. I only felt it when I gripped this giant crossbow; I feel... I feel like I can't even pierce its scales."

Kaiya heard this, his face still bearing that composed smile: "Don't be afraid, look at these huge crossbow bolts; just being fired, they could stun the dragon's head.

Moreover, you must remember, intercepting a giant dragon is never your sole responsibility. Look around, so many people are here, we will stop him!"

Upon hearing this, the surrounding soldiers also showed determined expressions, gradually casting aside distracting thoughts and focusing intently on every move of the demon dragon.

However, when Kaiya turned around after saying these words, the smile on his face completely vanished.

"And aren't we standing at the front?"

He didn't let others hear his whisper, simply because he himself lacked confidence.

This demon dragon is far more powerful than before.

In the cathedral square, Barbara clasped her hands together, kneeling beneath the sky harp and praying devoutly.

She found that the more earnestly she prayed, the brighter the light of the sky harp became.

This is easy to understand: even if it's just a fragment the size of a leaf, the clearance of a god is still the clearance of a god. Only those who possess power and can bear the responsibilities that come with it can be called gods.

After prayer, comes the response.

Within the sky harp, the two clearance fragments left by Barbatos and Orion intertwined, spinning like coils with tens of thousands of horsepower, resisting every attack Stormterror launched.

The dragon's immense physical strength, augmented by the incomplete Ancient Dragon's Great Authority and Abyssal Power, still only left electric blue sparks on the shield with each strike, with no further effect.

The clueless people of Mondstadt peeking at the live broadcast, the Knights of Favonius, and the clergy in the cathedral directly beneath the dragon, all marveled at the great power of the gods.

As long as this power of Preservation exists, Mondstadt will never fall, right?

But unfortunately, the current Teyvat is an era of humans, and the children of man cannot always hide under the wings of the gods.

And Stormterror just so happens to carry a power capable of corrupting gods.

Claws wrapped in withered wind pressed heavily on the Wind Shield, and countless black lines began to spread. The originally incredibly solid shield gradually showed signs of corrosion.

One could say that if Stormterror still had the sanity of his Dvalin period, he should have done this long ago. Abyssal Power, as a higher-level force, being able to corrode and assimilate lower-level forces is practically written into the universe's fundamental code.

Seeing this, Barbara quickly prayed even more earnestly, and countless clergy members also clasped their hands together. Countless human wishes transformed into specks of cyan light, converging into the sky harp, making the aerial shield solidify a few more points.

But the next moment, Stormterror in the sky suddenly opened its giant mouth towards the shield, and countless mournful winds gathered within its maw. In an instant, a huge purple beam of light was held in the dragon's mouth.

Roar of the Withered Wind!

The dragon's breath, imbued with Abyssal Power, struck the shield at extremely close range. At this moment, it felt as if the entire city of Mondstadt was trembling with it.

If this were an ordinary dragon's breath, at most a few "immune" notifications would pop up, and it would be over.

But the Abyssal Power within the dragon's breath didn't think so. The Anemo power contained within the shield was continuously corroded and transformed. Finally, after just ten seconds, the shield enveloping Mondstadt shattered like glass, and Stormterror's massive red body successfully breached Mondstadt.

At the same time, countless crossbow bolts and long-range elemental skills shot towards Stormterror from all directions. This sudden attack successfully made the demon dragon deviate from its initial trajectory, causing it to fall towards the ground of a nearby plaza instead.

As the shield shattered, the sky harp fell directly into Barbara's arms. Although it still glowed faintly, it was clearly insufficient to contend with such immense Abyssal Power.

And when Barbara raised her eyes, the three-hundred-and-fifty-meter giant dragon was sprawled on the ground, its crimson eyes with pupils contracted to pinpricks, staring directly back at her.

Its head alone was thirty meters huge, equivalent to one-third the size of the Statue of Liberty, or the height of a ten-story standard residential building. Those two irrational crimson eyes were like two massive moons, glowing with an ominous light.

Stormterror's body arched, its neck lowered, its bird-beak-like snout almost touching the ground. Each breath sent dust swirling across the plaza like a sandstorm.

Calamity.

Only when a colossal creature, biologically at the apex of the planet's food chain and mystically at the apex of the planet's elemental power, stares at you, can you truly comprehend what a moving natural disaster is.

It was a feeling of the soul being oppressed.

The giant dragon pushed with its forelegs, its head moving slowly forward with surprising ease. Who knows which nun, in this situation, managed to muster her courage; her legs trembled, yet she ran to Barbara's side, grabbed her petite body, and tried to pull her away to escape.

But the size difference was so vast; the giant dragon merely shifted slightly, closing the distance to mere inches.

Barbara bit her lower lip hard, turned around and pushed the nun, sending her towards two other nuns, shouting: "You all run!"

Then, she turned back, clutching the sky harp tightly with her left hand, and forcefully fanned her right hand towards Stormterror. A water ring instantly appeared around her, adorned with colorful, dancing musical notes.

This was Barbara's elemental skill; its effect was merely to heal.

The ripples of water splashed against the dragon's nose, causing no DMG other than making it a bit wet.

The dragon's eyes narrowed, as if mocking the scene, but the next moment a red object suddenly jumped onto its nose. It was a bouncy, two-headed rabbit doll.

No, the rabbit doll was also holding something: a round little doll, with a red package at the bottom and a small white animal with two long ears at the top.

What is this? A trace of confusion actually flashed in the dragon's irrational eyes.

However, at this moment, Mondstadt's Flying Champion, Scout Knight Amber, swooped down from the sky, performing a maneuver that definitely violated flight regulations, carrying Barbara away to the distance, and then shouted into the distance: "Little! Klee!"

"Klee received! Watch my and big brother's specially improved jumpy dumpty bombs!"

On the dragon's nose, the small white doll suddenly glowed red, and then, along with baron bunny, emitted a thousand-degree high temperature, and exploded simultaneously in an instant!

The instantaneous rise in temperature reacted with the Hydro element left by Barbara, and a huge impact and steam enveloped the dragon's head.

A small Mushroom cloud rose, its power far exceeding previous jumpy dumpty bombs.

In Stormterrors Lair, Jean, the Acting Grand Master, watching Skirk breaking through the barrier, suddenly felt a jolt in her heart.

She frowned and looked into the distance. What's going on? Why does it feel like someone just blew up Mondstadt?
