A short while later…
Irene was led into the cavernous throne room of the Dragon Emperor, with Yvnil following closely behind her.
At the far end of the chamber, the Dragon Emperor sat upon his throne, his head resting against one hand while his elbow was propped upon the armrest.
His ember-red eyes followed Irene as she approached, his expression dark with fury.
Standing before the throne were three Elder Dragons.
Xygias stood to one side, accompanied by two others—Irene recognized them as Braidyr and Ulie. The former possessed green hair, while the latter's was orange.
Like the other Elder Dragons, their bodies were partially covered in scales, bearing distinctive markings that matched the colors of their hair.
Irene continued forward until she reached the foot of the throne, where she came to a stop.
She raised her head and looked directly at the Emperor.
