Right now, they were back in the living room. It had been a few minutes since Ethan told her about his demon side, and he had also confirmed he wasn't pulling her legs about it.
The silence between them had stretched on for long enough that it was starting to feel uncomfortable.
"You've said nothing in almost ten minutes," Ethan finally said, breaking the quiet.
Isabella sighed and leaned back on the couch, staring up at the ceiling for a moment. "I just think you should have let me know sooner."
"Why? Would that have changed anything?" Ethan asked, his tone genuine rather than defensive.
"No." Isabella exhaled again, this time bringing one hand up to rub her forehead like she was trying to massage away a headache. "It's just…"
Her voice trailed off into another pause.
Ethan waited for a few seconds before saying, "I'm going to need you to finish that sentence at some point."
