Evelyn placed her slender fingers on my face and raised my gaze to meet hers then asked in a warm, motherly tone that was in sharp contrast to the cold look in her eyes.
"Are you alright?"
I shook my head slowly.
This was the first time I had killed someone and my body had not finished catching up to it.
Hearing my words Evelyn's gaze sharpened.
She glanced at her surrounding and a wave of anger surged violently in her heart.
Someone had sent killers after her son.
On a public street.
In her city.
"They dared," Evelyn's cold tone resounded as she glanced at her surroundings.
"I will raze this city to the ground if that is what it takes to find who is responsible. Every house. Every name. I will not leave a single one of them breathing when I am finished."
Her hand settled on my shoulder and as soon as she was done speaking the street folded.
The next instant we appeared before our house.
