"It is going well," Tiber said with a bow.
It was night, and the lights in the room were low, the same as the moon that shone weakly through the clouds that hid it. It made the room appear dark, but not too much.
Vale's eyes shone like burning coal as he looked at Tiber. His face showed weariness even though his eyes remained sharp. "You all have been working hard."
Even Vale, they all had been working hard. There was simply a lot to do, and they had to keep an eye on all the invited guests.
"Have the guests from Tachibana arrived?" Vale asked in a low voice as he reached into the drawer of his table and brought out snacks. They were what he ate sometimes when he pored through documents. He offered some to Tiber as he sat opposite him.
Tiber took them with thanks, his eyes lighting up. "They haven't. When our Master of Diplomacy reached out to their elders and engaged them, they promised to attend the Lord's Council so as to talk it out."
