Chapter 13 - Chapter 13

Two days after the release of Roseblood,

ROSIES stood inside the practice room at 7:12 a.m., already sweating.

Again.

The music restarted.

"From the second verse!"

Their choreographer didn't go easy on them just because the song was doing well online.

If anything—

he became stricter.

"Your energy drops before the dance break."

"Control your breathing."

"Again."

The mirrors fogged slightly from the heat of constant movement.

Bella pushed damp pink hair away from her face.

"I'm actually fighting for my life."

"You say that every practice," Joanne replied, breathless but steady.

"One day it'll be true."

Susu sat briefly near the wall drinking water while quietly repeating vocal lines under her breath.

Even during breaks—

she practiced.

Mili stretched beside her, exhausted.

"I didn't know debuting involved this much pain."

Susu laughed softly.

"…I think this is the easy part."

Mili looked horrified.

"The easy part?"

Across the room, Leah replayed the choreography video again on the monitor.

Watching angles.

Spacing.

Timing.

Bella pointed dramatically.

"She's studying again."

Leah didn't even look away from the screen.

"The third formation still shifts unevenly."

Silence.

Joanne walked closer.

A pause.

"…she's right."

Bella threw her hands into the air.

"How are you both real people?"

Vocal Training

After dance practice came vocal training.

Then stage rehearsal.

Then camera rehearsal.

Then dance practice again.

The company wasn't taking risks with their first music show stage.

Especially not after the response Roseblood had gotten online.

"Support the note properly," the vocal trainer corrected.

"Don't rely on backing track confidence."

Joanne adjusted immediately.

Stable.

Controlled.

Susu repeated her line again—

and filled the room effortlessly.

Even the trainer paused for a second.

"…good."

Which, coming from him, sounded almost emotional.

Bella's vocals improved the moment she stopped overthinking.

Mili's voice sounded softer live—

but emotional in a way recordings couldn't fully capture.

Then Leah sang her part.

The trainer looked up from his notes.

Not surprised anymore.

Just observant.

"Again," he said quietly.

Leah repeated it.

Cleaner this time.

Bella whispered loudly:

"He's obsessed with you."

Leah blinked slowly.

"…what?"

Mili burst into laughter.

Even Joanne smiled.

Families Arrive

By afternoon, the waiting room at KBS Music Bank felt crowded with staff and nerves.

Stylists moved around quickly.

Assistants carried makeup kits and clothing racks.

Managers checked schedules every thirty seconds.

Then the door opened again.

Mili looked up first.

Then froze.

"…Mom?"

Her mother smiled immediately.

Behind her—

other family members entered too.

Bella nearly screamed when she saw hers.

Susu covered her mouth in surprise.

Even Joanne looked visibly caught off guard.

"Our families are here?" Bella looked seconds away from crying.

The manager nodded once.

"They wanted to support your first stage."

The room changed instantly.

Warmer.

Softer.

More emotional.

Mili hugged her mother almost immediately.

Bella talked so fast no one could understand her.

Susu looked calmer after seeing her family.

Even Joanne's shoulders relaxed slightly.

Leah stood near the back for a moment—

still.

Then she heard a familiar voice.

"You look thinner."

Leah turned immediately.

Her grandmother stood near the doorway in a dark coat, looking at her carefully.

And for the first time that day—

Leah's composure broke slightly.

"Halmeoni."

Her grandmother stepped closer and adjusted Leah's sleeve instinctively.

"You're practicing too much."

Bella whispered dramatically from across the room:

"She's getting scolded on debut day."

Leah ignored her completely.

Then her grandmother looked at her properly.

Quietly.

Proudly.

"You worked hard."

Simple words.

But enough to make Leah's chest tighten unexpectedly.

Backstage Hallways

The closer performance time got—

the louder the backstage became.

Groups moved past constantly.

Managers bowing.

Staff rushing.

Idols greeting each other politely.

Then suddenly—

Bella froze.

"…oh my god."

Coming down the hallway were senior idols they had grown up watching.

Popular sunbaes.

Established names.

People who felt untouchable on television.

ROSIES immediately bowed.

"Hello, sunbaenim!"

The older idols greeted them warmly.

"We watched your MV."

"Your synchronization is impressive."

"Good luck today."

Mili looked like she might faint afterward.

Bella grabbed Susu's arm aggressively.

"They KNOW us."

"Bella, breathe."

"They SPOKE to us."

Even Joanne laughed quietly this time.

Before The Stage

Their final camera rehearsal finished twenty minutes before live recording.

The producers discussed their formations while replaying footage.

One staff member paused during the dance break.

"…their synchronization is crazy."

Another nodded.

"It's hard to focus on just one dancer."

And it was true.

ROSIES moved like they understood each other's timing naturally.

Fluid.

Sharp.

Connected.

No official dance position had been announced.

No main dancer.

No lead dancer.

And honestly—

after watching them together—

it became difficult to decide who deserved it most.

Still—

Leah stood out.

Not because she overdanced.

Not because she demanded attention.

But because every movement looked expensive.

Elegant.

Controlled.

Like her body understood music differently.

Even standing still—

she looked composed.

Standby

"ROSIES standby!"

The lights beyond the stage glowed brightly.

The audience noise echoed faintly now.

Real fans.

Real stage.

Bella flexed her fingers nervously.

Mili inhaled deeply.

Susu quietly repeated opening lyrics under her breath.

Joanne adjusted everyone's in-ear monitors one final time.

Then Leah looked toward them.

"No matter what happens," she said softly, "stay together."

Bella looked at her dramatically.

"You always say things that sound cinematic."

Leah rolled her eyes slightly.

"…focus."

Music Bank — Debut Stage

The intro music started.

And ROSIES stepped onto the Music Bank stage for the first time.

The lights were brighter than rehearsal.

The cheers louder.

The cameras closer.

But the moment the choreography began—

something settled inside them.

Training took over.

Instinct.

Trust.

Susu's live vocals stayed beautifully stable despite the intense choreography.

Joanne anchored the group naturally.

Bella's expressions lit up every camera angle.

Mili looked softer on screen—

but magnetic.

And Leah—

Leah danced like she belonged there.

Not flashy.

Not excessive.

Just impossibly clean.

Every line complete.

Every movement fluid enough to blur into the others while still somehow standing apart.

During the dance break—

the synchronization became almost unreal.

Fans later replayed the stage repeatedly because they genuinely couldn't decide:

Who was the best dancer?

Every member moved sharply.

Every transition connected smoothly.

No weak links.

No awkward energy.

ROSIES looked less like five separate performers—

and more like one moving body.

Ending Fairy

The song ended.

Final pose.

Heavy breathing hidden behind trained expressions.

Then—

the camera zoomed in.

Mili first.

Silver hair framing flushed cheeks and soft eyes.

Beautiful without trying.

Then Leah.

Slightly messy black hair.

Sharp gaze softened by exhaustion.

One eye subtly lighter beneath the stage lights.

The clip spread online almost immediately.

"WHO IS THE GIRL WITH THE EYES?"

"The silver-haired member is insane."

"ROSIES ending fairies are dangerous."

After

The moment they stepped backstage—

the adrenaline hit all at once.

Bella screamed first.

"We DIDN'T DIE."

Joanne laughed breathlessly.

"Barely."

Susu covered her face, overwhelmed.

Mili looked seconds away from crying from relief.

Leah stood still for a moment.

Listening to the fading crowd noise beyond the stage.

Then—

slowly—

she smiled.

Because for the first time since debut preparations began—

they finally looked like a real group on stage.

And everyone else could see it too.
