The hallway swallowed the noise the second the door shut behind them. Carpet instead of marble underfoot. A hush built to muffle rather than impress.
Gilbert exhaled like he'd been holding it since the panel started. "Twenty minutes. I counted."
"Twenty minutes of Desmond Kade is closer to an hour." Arianne set her tablet against her hip and let her shoulders drop half an inch, the only concession she planned to make.
"That Kade fellow doesn't know how to end a conversation. I watched him corner three people last year at the Ashford summit the same way." Gilbert loosened his collar with two fingers. "Franz'll get him talking about Halcyon and never get free."
"Franz can handle Desmond Kade."
