The car screeched into the corner of a parking lot.
A golden light flashed inside the car, and Ding Luo of the Divine Race transformed into a phantom, flying toward the school.
Her speed was far greater than the hovercar's.
The surrounding city buildings blurred past like fleeting shadows.
A dozen or so seconds later, inside the school, Ding Luo formed a golden spear in one hand and pierced the nether-energy monster on the ground.
It exploded into countless wisps of black smoke.
The monster was dealt with easily, but her expression remained grim.
"Where is the Guardian?! Why didn't they show up!?" she raged directly through her mark.
"We... we never received any report... Sorry, Luo, the alarm system might have malfunctioned," came the reply from a nearby Guardian through the mark.
Hearing this, Ding Luo's expression turned even darker.
