Lavenia's POV
What am I doing here? I've been standing here for nearly thirty minutes, waiting for the homeowner to open the door and let me in, but no one has come out even after I rang the bell repeatedly.
I saw his car parked outside. It would be funny if he—or anyone else—were to say he wasn't home.
But that's exactly what happened.
A woman in a maid's uniform came out, gave me a scornful look, and asked, "What brings you here? Mr. Ramiere isn't home," she said.
"Mr. Ramiere?" I muttered, puzzled. "You've got the wrong person. I'm here to see Dr. Lane. Alexander Lane. I need to consult him about my health. We had an appointment, but he didn't show up."
"There's no Dr. Lane here. You should have checked first before coming. That's a waste of people's time, you know?"
I was taken aback by the woman's response and double-checked. Right, this is the address Alex gave me on the business card he once handed me. Then, who is this Mr. Ramiere the woman mentioned?
