Alan met it and redirected the force to the side, then stepped in again.

Each attack landed on the same cracked area.
The guardian tried to push him back with a downward strike.

Alan blocked and slid half a step, then adjusted his footing and moved in again.

A red beam shot out from the blade—

It tore through the air, aimed directly at the guardian's exposed core.
The guardian raised its greatsword to block—

Alan lowered his sword slowly.
The red glow around Iyargut faded.

Alan looked at them carefully.
