Chapter 327 - Chapter 317: Repair the Great Rift and Obtain the Heart of the Universe

When Datch came out of the TARDIS telephone box, he immediately saw the Sigillite Malcador sitting at the desk.

Above the other party's head, a golden question mark was displayed, indicating that NPC has a main quest.

The laboratory had simple decoration, completely unlike Malcador's status and position.

However, Malcador did not permit others to apply excessive decoration and hated the luxury nobles prefer.

The study was illuminated by lighting fixtures embedded in the ceiling, creating a very comfortable space.

"Welcome back, Nameless One."

Malcador stood, greeted humbly, quickly came out from behind the desk, and bowed his head to Datch.

Toward a great existence possessing the power to rewrite the past, it is wise in the end to show respect.

According to the Emperor, the fetter of the Horus Heresy has been removed.

The four Chaos Gods have received unprecedented damage and are in an extremely weakened state.

With a little more effort, we may accomplish what many races of the past could not: completely defeat them and enable humanity to achieve ultimate sublimation.

"Skip the talk, skip the talk."

"Malcador, is there something you want me to help with?"

Datch, as usual, could not endure it.

After seizing the Horus Heresy stronghold, the game's story advances into the latter half.

As is well known in open-world games, in the latter half, it basically becomes important to advance the story and proceed along the plot.

After all, levelling up, accumulating points, and raising affinity with important NPCs can be done from early to mid-game.

Datch is generally considered—

Outrageous people play open-world games and reach max level before even entering the starting point.

When a novice boss sees the player at max level wearing complete god-equipment, he secretly suspects he has broken some heavenly law, and that is why such powerful warriors come to challenge him.

At the point the match has advanced this far, Datch felt it was time to pick up the pace and finish the match.

After clearing the game, he would once stop the game, return to the real world and rest for a while, then start a second playthrough.

On the second playthrough, he planned to choose the route "the ancestors did not eat beef" and make the Warhammer world experience the terror of the Player.

At Datch's words, Malcador was surprised. He had many ideas he wanted to convey.

After receiving the Emperor's instructions, he had secretly prepared several different versions of his own story and thought of a way to persuade the Nameless One to resolve the Great Rift and the four gods' problem.

Before the other party's "stop! stop!", all his careful plans became meaningless.

The Nameless One is not difficult at all.

Because they have neither the opportunity nor the qualification to object.

Even if you want to take on some work, they will not leave it to you and will force it on you.

If someone does not want to accept a request, even if they kneel and plead, the strangers will simply think that person's legs gave out from overindulgence.

He who understands the times is wise.

After sighing for an instant, Malcador floated a flattering smile.

"Yes, yes, honoured Nameless One, there is something I wish to ask of you."

"Speak quickly, speak quickly, don't waste time," Datch urged, unable to wait to start the next mission.

"You destroyed the keystone of the Horus Heresy, completely erased the past, and created an entirely new future."

"However, the crisis of the Great Rift still affects the Imperium of Man. I pray that you will repair this Great Rift, return the real universe's physical laws to the form they ought to have, and restore the peace of the past."

The instant Malcador finished speaking, a mission panel appeared in Datch's eyes.

[Mission: You used numerous magical means to suppress the Horus Heresy, reflected the dramatic change of the past onto the present, and inflicted severe damage on the four Chaos Gods.]

Now Malcador has given you another difficult mission: close the Great Rift and return the laws of the universe to a normal state.

Quest reward: 15,000 experience, 15,000 points, reputation points +1,500, item: Heart of the Universe ×1

Datch's gaze immediately fell on the special item obtained as mission reward — the Heart of the Universe.

When he thought, the item's description floated before his eyes.

[Item: Heart of the Universe]

It is the highest-rank artefact in the Marvel universe, next after the Supreme Being, and can sense everything in the universe and alter it at will.

Commentary: "Want to become the Creator God? Want to become an existence that transcends everything and dominates everything? Then obtain it. Then you will become the Supreme Being."

"Ohh..."

Datch, in surprise, almost shouted, "Amazing!"

Are the game designers insane, using such an item as a mission reward?

This is next in importance after opening the console.

Once you grasp the knack, the rest is easy.

However, thinking it over, it makes sense.

In previous missions, he had already obtained powerful items such as the Infinity Gauntlet, Rick's portal gun, and the TARDIS telephone box.

To make the player work more eagerly, it is certainly necessary to make rewards for subsequent tasks more attractive.

Datch now understood why the Warhammer universe is such a popular game.

This manufacturer treats the player like their own child and thinks first only of pure enjoyment.

There is no pressure on combat power, no prescribed death scenes; the player can enjoy as they like.

It does not look like a Soulslike game made only to torment the player.

From now on, I will only play this company's games.

"Understood. I'll take that mission." Datch nodded and accepted the mission.

Then he raised his right hand, wearing the Infinity Gauntlet, and chose to use the Space Stone's power.

Rays erupted, intertwined, and eventually formed a spatial passage.

On the opposite side of the passage was a gigantic void platform orbiting Vigil Star.

When Datch entered, the spatial passage immediately closed behind him.

Seeing off the Nameless One's receding figure, Malcador floated an expression of relief and slowly walked to the study's French window, looking at the lively port outside.

This work is easier than expected.

Almost no explanation was needed; the Nameless One was given the mission to repair the gigantic rift.

The possibility that the Imperium of Man will defeat the Chaos Gods has risen slightly.

...

Datch passed through the spatial passage and arrived directly at Vigil Star's void platform.

This gigantic metal structure floating in the Vigil system was built by the Imperium of Man to guard the Nachmund Gauntlet and preserve Vigil Star.

It is equipped with various large-calibre guns, surrounded by warships and patrol craft, like a fortress.

At its edge, high towers housing devices such as oracle arrays, remote spectral-analysis towers, and psychic-wave detectors soar.

The instant Datch used the Space Stone to reach the void platform, an alarm rang.

However, when officers arrived and it was determined that the person's identity was unknown, they immediately chose to leave.

Immediately afterward, a group of trained agents placed gold coins carved with the aquila emblem and various precious artefacts in a room near the Nameless One so that he could plunder them.

The others who triggered the alarm will also need to be questioned about that action.

Even if a Primarch and Malcador arrived, they would have to ask several questions to confirm everything is correct before lifting the alarm. The only existence in the entire Imperium of Man that need not go through this procedure was the Nameless Ones.

The other party possesses the privilege of ignoring every law and regulation of the Imperium.

For the anonymous person, illegal entry for the purpose of stealing property and free passage in and out of highly confidential places are not regarded as crimes.

Though these provisions were never explicitly written in the code, the instructions the Terran Senate and Macragge Executive Council gave to each system were the same.

Ignore the Nameless One and give him whatever he wants.

Datch ignored the NPCs secretly slipping gold coins and collectibles into a corner.

He stood at the edge of the void platform and, through a gigantic observation window of reinforced glass, gazed at the gigantic rift spreading across the entire galaxy.

That gigantic crack lay there quietly like an unhealing wound opened in the Milky Way itself.

From deep in the wound, eerie dark-purple light constantly leaked.

Each gust produces a visible wave of chaotic energy that spreads, pulsing along the crack's walls and causes constant contamination of the real universe.

"It is time to end this."

Datch muttered to himself while taking out a magic staff.

"Tiga."

After a great shout, Datch transformed in the light into a perfect figure. Ultraman Tiga wrapped in light.

He used props to borrow Gaia's Sapphire Cone and Dyna's Miracle Sign and thereby borrowed the power of the two great giants of light.

Three rays intertwined inside Datch and fused, forming a unique pattern.

Datch's transformation was not in order to close the Great Rift by borrowing Ultraman's power, but in order to offset the Infinity Gauntlet's price.

The Infinity Gauntlet is unbelievably powerful, yet snapping the fingers to grant a wish comes with a price.

The broader the scope of desire, the greater the price that must be paid.

Datch's plan to close the gigantic rift spreading across the entire galaxy will come with a great price.

Before taking action, we first need to strengthen our own power. Otherwise we will only be consumed and perish.

Having finished the transformation, Datch was ready to snap his fingers.

With an instant of thought, the Infinity Gauntlet activated; all six Infinity Stones released light simultaneously.

The Space Stone's deep blue, the Time Stone's emerald green, the Reality Stone's golden red, the Power Stone's deep purple, the Soul Stone's warm orange, and the Mind Stone's vivid yellow…

The six colours joined and mixed at the finger-joint portion, forming a rainbow that constantly flows and changes.

"Close, Great Rift."

Datch snapped his fingers while making the wish.

The next instant, the Infinity Gauntlet released unimaginable energy.

A ring-shaped shockwave composed of six intertwined colours centred on the gauntlet spread outward.

Its speed was unimaginable; in an instant, it raced across the entire galaxy and affected the entire universe.

The Infinity Gauntlet's energy affected the oracle arrays across the Vigil galaxy.

Every pointer reached the limit value simultaneously and trembled violently; the detection arrays' signal peaks broke through every preset threshold within the same microsecond.

Shrill alarm sounds rang at every monitoring station and drowned out the duty officers' shouts and the sound of technicians rapidly tapping control panels.

"What's going on?"

What's going on?

That alarm warned every high-ranking human authority stationed in the Vigil system.

Commanders with medals on their shoulder-straps rushed from offices to the central control centre.

Their boots struck the metal deck with a fast, hurried sound.

Generals shouted toward the communications net and demanded that every operating observation post immediately report current readings.

Technicians desperately operated terminals, trying to decipher a data-stream that ignored every known physical model.

When they learned all of this was the Nameless One's doing, they stared at one another with confused expressions and secretly wondered what on earth the Nameless One was plotting.

When an eerie silence visited the control centre, a young communications lieutenant suddenly shouted.

"Look! That great crack — that great crack is closing!"

Hearing this, everyone immediately rushed to various screens and observation windows to confirm the great crack's condition.

The deep-purple wound crossing the Milky Way was closing slowly, yet with irresistible force from its edges.

Some force older and more fundamental than chaotic energy seems to be reconstructing the spatial structure from the very root of the universe's laws and healing that wound.

"According to the data, the Great Rift is indeed closing," a tech-sage said in a low voice filled with awe.

The repair of the Great Rift was not due only to the vibration of Vigil Star.

Across the entire galaxy, every force that can observe the Great Rift immediately witnessed this dramatic change.

"No, this isn't reality. Tell me this isn't reality."

"That accursed Nameless One — how dare he do such a thing!?"

"I intend to kill him. I absolutely must kill him."

Dark Warmaster Abaddon stood before the observation window on the bridge of the Vengeful Spirit and raised a roar of despair.

The gigantic crack he had spent ten thousand years opening was slowly and mercilessly closing before his eyes.

Vashtorr, the demi-god of the forge, also sensed the Great Rift's change; his face was filled with despair.

He had never imagined events would unfold like this.

The plan to become a god has stalled. Originally, he intended to activate a backup plan and obtain another chance to become a god, yet now even the Great Rift is closed and the road to godhood has been completely cut off.

The Silent King, leader of the Necrons, was one of the first to receive news of the dramatic change occurring at the Great Rift.

The first name that came to his mind was "Nameless One."

Among the numerous powerful existences in the real universe, only that man has the power to change everything.

"Who on earth is this man, and why does he possess such ability?"

"Humanity's rise cannot be stopped. And our race's age will soon completely meet its end."

A little earlier, part of his clan had been returned to a biological state by the Nameless Ones, so his authority had declined markedly.

Previously, the people of the tribe recognised his position and expected him to restore the metal bodies and recover the glory of the terrible death-tribe.

But now hope has been smashed.

The fact that hope of biological reversal is entrusted not to his tribe's leader's hands but to humanity's hands is extremely terrible.

The Stormlord and several other rulers have raised the banner of revolt against him and claim he no longer has the qualification to lead the people.

Due to inter-tribal strife, the Imperium of Man has removed the last obstacle to its rise.

The Necrons have no future.

The Primarchs who had gone on expedition fighting Chaos and xenos also received the news.

Everyone was unbelievably excited and immediately issued orders to energetically publicise the Nameless One's great deed, wishing to turn every planet into a holy land that worships him.

(Lorgar: That time when you burned Perfect City, you kept saying there are no gods in this universe. So in the end, everyone was hostile to me?!)

Meanwhile, on Vigil Star's void platform,

even after transforming into a giant of light, when Datch snapped his fingers with the Infinity Gauntlet, he collapsed from the knees in pain; his whole body lost vitality and went limp.

Fortunately, the power of light protected him from actual harm.

When he snapped his fingers, the great crack vanished at a speed visible to the naked eye.

In a mere instant, everything returned to original as if nothing had happened.

Datch received a game notification informing him the mission was complete.

[Congratulations on completing the mission! You succeeded in closing the Great Rift and prevented in advance a catastrophe that could have destroyed the entire material world.]

[Quest reward: 15,000 experience, 15,000 points, reputation points +1,500, item: Heart of the Universe ×1]

The instant the notification sound rang, the Heart of the Universe releasing holy light appeared in Datch's hand.

Feeling energy surging through his body, Datch grinned. "This feels really good!"

With this, defeating the Four will be a piece of cake.

First destroy the Eye of Terror, launch a fierce assault on Warp space, scatter the four Chaos Gods, and trample the daemons of the Warp. Who else can stand against us?
