Chapter 318 - Ho-Oh and Lugia

"You may send out two Pokémon to face the Unown. The power of this ruin is fading; we shall meet again." With those words, Mew's consciousness vanished, leaving Feng Che standing before two shimmering, primordial entities.

As he watched, the Unown warped the very fabric of reality. "Transforming into Ho-Oh and Lugia... is this destiny?" Feng Che whispered, his eyes narrowing as he scanned their stats.

Pokémon: Ho-Oh (Illusion)

Level: 70

Type: Fire / Flying

Ability: Regenerator

Status: A construct created by Unown D, possessing one-tenth of the real Ho-Oh's power.

Pokémon: Lugia (Illusion)

Level: 70

Type: Psychic / Flying

Ability: Multiscale

Status: A construct created by Unown H, possessing one-tenth of the real Lugia's power.

The illusory Ho-Oh beat its wings, exhaling a pillar of incandescent white flame—Sacred Fire—at Incineroar. The tiger roared, diving into a Dig to bypass the searing heat. Simultaneously, Lugia let out a deafening shriek, firing an Aeroblast toward Greninja.

"Greninja, move!"

Greninja became a blue blur, narrowly escaping as the air where it stood exploded into a massive crater.

"Incredible... even at ten percent power, they can reshape the battlefield," Feng Che marveled. "Incineroar, Greninja! It's time to show them the power of the Primals!"

Energy flared. On Incineroar's forehead, the Omega symbol glowed red as magma began to seep from its fur. On Greninja, the Alpha symbol pulsed blue, and six pillars of spiraling water erupted around it. The sky above the arena split: one half became a scorched, cloudless desert, while the other turned into a raging hurricane of rain.

Ho-Oh launched another Sacred Fire. This time, Incineroar didn't dodge. The white flames hit the Omega-inscribed hide and were absorbed. To Feng Che's shock, Incineroar's magma-coated body began to flicker with that same holy, white fire.

Is Incineroar... consuming Ho-Oh's essence? Can this form evolve further?

Incineroar didn't wait for an answer. It unleashed a barrage of Magma Orbs like falling meteors, slamming Ho-Oh into the ceiling of the ruin. Stones shattered and fell as the tremor accelerated the ruin's collapse. Incineroar then manifested two flaming longswords—a variant of Precipice Blades. It hurled them with lethal precision, skewering Ho-Oh's wings and pinning the illusion to the crumbling stone.

On the other side, Greninja fired six high-pressure Origin Pulse cannons. Lugia braced with its silver wings, but the concentrated water pierced through its Multiscale defense. Lugia slammed into the ceiling next to its counterpart. Though the Unown's power tried to knit the wounds shut, the illusions were visibly dimming.

"Keep the pressure on! Every wound drains their energy!" Feng Che shouted from the back of his Corviknight.

Lugia roared, unleashing a desperate Aeroblast. Violent winds tore through the arena, acting like a storm of blades that shredded the ground. But the more power they used, the faster they faded.

Greninja compressed Dark Pulse into rapid-fire spheres, detonating them against Lugia's chest. Incineroar, having fully processed the Sacred Fire, exhaled a massive Fire Blast in the shape of a kanji character ($大$). The white-hot symbol engulfed Ho-Oh, charring its illusory feathers and draining its remaining light.

"Final strike! Precipice Blades! Origin Pulse!"

Incineroar thrust its magma-white sword through Ho-Oh's heart. Greninja slammed its spiral pulse into Lugia's core. With the sound of shattering glass, the two Legendaries dissolved into sparkling mist.

Unown D and Unown H fell limply from the air. Feng Che caught them, but as he did, his own hand glowed with purple light. Unown A, B, and C—which had been hidden in his shadow—emerged, circling their fallen kin to replenish their energy.

"Wait, three Unown were hiding inside me this whole time?" Feng Che gaped.

"I thought you knew," Mewtwo remarked dryly. "You really should pay more attention to your own aura."

"No time for that now! The treasury!"

A flickering portal appeared. Feng Che and Mewtwo used their combined telekinesis to dive through. They worked at fever pitch, sweeping piles of Wind God Crystals and ancient artifacts into Feng Che's storage space just as the walls began to cave in.

With the treasury emptied, Feng Che teleported out of the collapsing mountain.

But there was no time to celebrate. He emerged to see Jekai's airship under siege. In the sky, three silhouettes screeched amidst a chaotic storm of elements: Zapdos, Moltres, and Articuno were on the warpath.
