[Rayquaza: Oh, yeah... right there. Harder.]
[Rayquaza: This current is actually pretty stimulating. That spot right there is exactly where I got bruised bumping into Kyogre during our last scrap.]
[Rayquaza: I've had a dull ache there for ages, but after this "electrotherapy," it feels much better.]
[Rayquaza: Life here isn't half bad, actually.]
[Rayquaza: No Shiori nagging in my ear, and the food they provide is delicious.]
[Rayquaza: Aside from the lack of freedom, everything is quite cozy.]
Rayquaza lay coiled in the cage, eyes lazily closed. Golden arcs of electricity danced continuously across its emerald-green scales.
[Rayquaza: Except for that creepy old man who likes to come by and stare at me every day. That burning gaze of his... I'm honestly reaching my limit.]
"..."
Hearing Rayquaza's inner thoughts, Feng Che's expression turned bizarre. His lips twitched uncontrollably. It turned out this Rayquaza wasn't suffering at all—it was here on a spa retreat.
[Rayquaza: I suppose it's about time to leave. My Mikado Organ has stored up a massive amount of energy.]
[Rayquaza: After a few days of electrotherapy, my injuries are mostly healed.]
Listening to the Sky God's internal monologue, Feng Che realized that the Rayquaza before him was a crafty, cunning entity.
So, in the original lore, the reason Rayquaza escaped the Sky Tower so easily wasn't necessarily because Zinnia attacked the League...
It was simply because Rayquaza got bored of staying here.
Feng Che reached a sudden realization, his face a mask of speechlessness.
Coming here to "rescue" Rayquaza wasn't exactly providing help in an hour of need. At most, it was just adding a bit of flair to its exit.
Are you kidding me? This is a Tier-1 God. Since when did it need me to save it?
I miscalculated. Looks like I won't be getting a "life-saving" favor from Rayquaza this time, Feng Che thought with a twinge of regret.
Inside the Sky Tower
Countless Solosis were being transported into the tower. By amplifying each other's presence, they bolstered their collective psychic power. The more Solosis gathered, the stronger the psychic pressure they could exert.
Suddenly, a Salamence charged toward the Sky Tower with ferocious intent. Instantly, a swarm of Solosis surged out of the tower, surrounding the dragon.
The Salamence opened its massive maw and let out a Hyper Voice. Numerous Solosis were knocked unconscious by the sonic boom, plummeting from the sky like hailstones.
Following up, the Salamence spat out several Shadow Balls. The orbs of darkness detonated in the midst of the Solosis swarm, causing them to drop to the ground like falling dumplings.
"What is happening?!"
"Where did this Salamence come from?!"
Lady Alice watched in shock as half the Solosis barrier was wiped out in an instant.
"They're here, Alice!"
"Strengthen the guard! Do not let that Salamence break through!" Goodshow commanded excitedly.
"To think they'd move so quickly."
"But Rayquaza is mine. No one can take it. Whoever tries is my enemy!" Goodshow snarled.
The Laboratory
Rayquaza suddenly snapped its head up.
[Rayquaza: I sense that reckless brat Zinnia's Salamence approaching.]
[Rayquaza: What is that kid thinking? I was going to head back in a few days anyway.]
[Rayquaza: Life is so difficult.]
[Rayquaza: Though, I suppose it is time to go find Shiori.]
Rayquaza looked up and let out a draconic roar. Instantly, the laboratory's alarms flared red. A piercing siren echoed throughout the Sky Tower.
"Oh no, President Goodshow! Rayquaza is rioting!" Dr. Denbo shouted as he frantically connected a video call to Goodshow.
"Blaze, go suppress Rayquaza!"
"Dr. Denbo, use the Ten Million Volts!" Goodshow commanded.
"Understood! Chiki, increase the current from one million to ten million volts!" Denbo screamed at Feng Che.
If we hit it with ten million volts, even Rayquaza's Mikado Organ might not be able to take the strain, Feng Che thought. He input a series of codes into the console, ostensibly raising the current, but actually destabilizing the grid.
Sharp electrical crackling filled the air. Massive surges of electricity began to fry the laboratory's delicate equipment.
"Damn it! Retreat! Everyone out! An Elite is about to arrive!" Dr. Denbo screamed.
Feng Che mimicked the signs of an electric shock and collapsed to the floor.
"Chiki!" One researcher reached out to help Feng Che, but Dr. Denbo slapped his hand away.
"Idiot! He's already gone! You want to die too?" Denbo glared at the other researchers. Then, as if his feet were greased, he vanished in a blur of speed. The other researchers followed in a panic, fleeing the lab.
Just as they left, Blaze arrived on the scene. A sky-shaking roar erupted from within the room. Rayquaza felt another Pokémon nearby helping it disperse the ten-million-volt surge. The massive current didn't actually cause it much discomfort.
A moment later, the experimental equipment exploded. The current lashing Rayquaza vanished.
"Curse it... without the ten-million-volt support, I'm no match for Rayquaza," Blaze muttered. "But at least it's still locked in that heavy cage. With its current strength, it shouldn't be able to move that much weight."
Just then, Blaze heard a crisp clack from the cage. The door swung open on its own. It was the result of the code Feng Che had entered moments before.
Rayquaza surged out of the ultra-pure alloy cage instantly. It unleashed a Dragon Pulse, blasting a massive hole through the Sky Tower's reinforced wall.
[Rayquaza: Farewell, humans. I have a gift for you.]
Rayquaza soared into the sky and let out a roar that shook the heavens. The Solosis hovering in the air were terrified out of their wits and fell to the earth. The sky turned a brilliant golden-yellow. Massive draconic meteors began to rain from the firmament—Rayquaza had used Draco Meteor.
[Rayquaza: I'll destroy this tower and humble these arrogant humans once and for all.]
"My God! Look at the sky! Those meteors are huge!"
"Run! Everyone run!"
The crowds outside the Sky Tower scattered in a panicked frenzy. Goodshow watched Rayquaza's escape, his face turning the color of ash. His complexion was grim; his grand ambitions had plummeted into the abyss in a single moment.
The Laboratory
Feng Che climbed up from the floor. A Zeraora appeared by his side.
"Zeraora, use your claws to sever the joints of this cage."
With a single strike, Zeraora broke the connections. It hoisted the massive cage onto its shoulders and walked toward Feng Che.
"Perfect. All this ultra-pure alloy."
Goodshow was certainly generous, making a cage out of this stuff, Feng Che thought. I'll take that as a gift. Along with all these important experimental materials.
Feng Che looked toward the League's storage vault. Since you've all run away, I won't be polite. He smirked. He also moved to Dr. Denbo's computer, copying a massive amount of data.
The giant meteors collided with the Sky Tower, piercing straight through the structure. Billowing thick smoke erupted from the building, followed by a raging inferno. Rayquaza looked at the ruins of the Sky Tower with satisfaction, flicked its tail, and soared away.
In the moment the meteors struck, Feng Che used Teleport to leave the tower.
An Alley in Goldenrod City
Feng Che materialized in the deepest part of an alley with the real Chiki. He casually tossed the unconscious researcher into a dumpster.
Just as he was about to step out of the alley, a thunderous draconic roar shook the air. A Salamence plummeted from the sky. The dragon was clearly in a state of Confusion. It opened its massive maw and lunged toward a young child playing on the sidewalk.
