Chapter 38 - Aftermath 1

The forest had fallen silent as Naoya's anguished cries slowly faded away. In their place, the beautiful chirping of birds and the singing of snakes emerged.

It's almost as if the world had suddenly become brighter and filled with more happiness, all while less evil remained in the world upon Naoya's death.

In the cratered forest, Akira slowly stood up from his crouching position, the shoes under him absorbing Naoya's blood. His mother had already come back to his shoes.

Hanging in Akira's hand was a sawed-off arm, fresh and warm blood still dripping and leaking from the cut part. The arm had turned sickly pale from the blood loss.

"Well, let's get this snack back to Rika so she can copy his cursed technique. It looked overpowered after all," Akira muttered before vanishing from the spot.

A few minutes after Akira vanished, the air shimmered as Kaori Itadori, or Kenjaku, emerged from hiding, using barrier techniques that erase her presence and block sound.

Kenjaku slowly walked next to Naoya's corpse, a casual smile on her face as she bent down and took his intact hand before dragging the body away.

"Could be a useful tool in the Culling Games, so I'll take him back," Kenjaku muttered before flying away by using her Anti-Gravity System cursed technique.

Meanwhile...

Back in Tokyo Jujutsu High, Yuka, Maki, Panda and Inumaki sat in front of Gojo, who crossed his legs while leaning back in his comfortable leather chair, his face serious.

The atmosphere in the room was tense and filled with calm anger, especially Yuka's, who looked calm, but was the angriest deep inside.

"Naoya had told me that the ones who sent those assassins and the Kukuru unit after Akira and us were the Higher-ups," Maki spoke, telling Gojo everything she knew.

Gojo is the only one who can help them out of this without being branded as Curse Users. Especially Akira and Yuka.

One of them killed a Hei member and the future head of the Zenin clan. And Yuka had killed every Kukuru member on the scene after Akira went after Naoya.

"Those geezers are really starting to get on my nerves... Looks like my warning had gone over their heads last time," Gojo leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees as he spoke with a cold tone.

He had warned wiht the Higher-ups about touching his students after the Special Grade cursed spirit incident. His warning went over their head, and it seems they don't fear him as much anymore.

That will be changing in a bit.

"Huh?"

Suddenly, Gojo looked to the gate of the Jujutsu compound, a confused look on his face, before it turned into an amused grin.

Akira stepped through the gate, the hand of Naoya still in his hand as he walked down the stone road, one hand in his pocket. He looked around, enjoying the scenery as a soft breeze blew through his hair.

"What a nice day to enjoy a vacation with some friends... Too bad the vacation was messed up. Whatever, Maki must know who was behind this. I'll ask her,"

Akira sighed as he thought back to the assassins and the perfectly timed and placed C4 bombs, as well as that truck driving into the car with bombs.

It was clearly orchestrated by someone, and it had to be either from Jujutsu High or one of those Jujutsu clans that hold power and sway over the Jujutsu world.

Akira didn't plan on letting anyone who targets him walk away alive. Even if they are Jujutsu sorcerers.

Soon, Akira reached Gojo's house in the large compound, and without knocking, opened the door and went inside. He took his shoes off at the door before walking upstairs.

Entering the room, everyone turned to him, especially Yuka, who immediately stood up and rushed into his arms, not caring about the severed arm in his palm.

"Akira, you... aghhhhh!" Yuka choked up as she started crying, causing Akira to chuckle in amusement as he rubbed her back gently.

"Rika, catch,"

Akira called out while throwing Naoya's arm in the air. The air distorted as Rika fully emerged from the shadows. She grinned, her sharp teeth flashing coldly as he caught the arm between her teeth.

Rika wasted no time in eating the hand, munching on it as if it were a delicious snack. Gojo watched with a raised eyebrow, confused about why Akira did that.

Yuka had not told anyone besides Akira about her cursed technique, so no one knew why Akira had given the hand to Rika. Of course, Gojo almost immediately figured out that it must be connected to Yuka's cursed technique.

"That's brutal..." Panda muttered with a shiver as he watched Rika eat the hand while grinning in delight. Inumaki was not better off as he watched with fish eyes.

Akira looked down at Yuka, whose face was still buried in his chest, taking deep, greedy breaths of his scent. Lifting her chin gently, Akira asked for permission to talk about her technique.

"Yeah, I don't mind since they are our friends now," Yuka shrugged as she buried her head back in Akira's chest. Maki watched with a quiet, burning jealousy while everyone else waited for the reveal.

"Yuka's cursed technique is called Copy. It allows her to copy the cursed techniques of anyone she ate a body part of. But Rika can eat it instead of Yuka,"

Akira explained, while Rika let out a groan of satisfaction as she ate Naoya's arms fully.

The next second, Yuka and Rika both shuddered as they felt an extra connection appear in their minds, Projection Sorcery stored in Yuka's cursed technique storage.

"She can copy the cursed technique of anyone, huh..." Gojo pressed a hand under his chin as he looked at Yuka. If she could copy his Limitless, it would have been crazy, but she would likely not be able to use it correctly.

For a Limitless user to be able to use Limitless to its full potential, it needs to be matched with the Six Eyes; otherwise, they would be lucky if they could use anything other than Neutral Infinity.

Some are lucky enough to even be able to use Blue, let alone red and Purple like Gojo.

"Since she can copy cursed techniques and heal others as well. How about she copies Inumaki's cursed technique as well? If he wants to, of course," Panda spoke up while pointing at Inumaki, who sweat dropped.

He isn't against the idea of Yuka copying his cursed technique, but the point he is against is the part where Rika will have to eat a body part of his.

He doesn't want to feel pain.

"Inumaki, I can press some acupuncture on your body so you don't feel pain for a few minutes, and Rika can heal your wound back to perfect in seconds. You also don't need to do it if you don't want to." Akira said, seeing through Inumaki's worry, so he spoke up. He wouldn't be angry if he didn't want to allow Yuka to copy his cursed techniques.

No one would want that either. Besides, Inumaki and Panda are his first male friends, so he would never force them to hand their cursed techniques over to Yuka.

"Salmon," Hearing Akira's words, Inumaki sighed before agreeing to having his technique copied.

"Thanks, Inumaki," Akira smiled at Inumaki, nodding his head in appreciation.
