Chapter 380 - GAM Ch 380: Lacus's Busy Life

"Garfield, I am back."

Five years have passed.

The speed at which his student has grown is astonishing.

Genetic modification technology is truly amazing.

After her modified version of Old Ma's ideas and education, Lacus has not only learned but also begun to reflect on herself.

The pink little girl bounced up to him.

Garfield raised his eyelids slightly and then continued to lie on the robot dog.

"Do not disturb me while I am sunbathing, and do not call me teacher."

"No way. Teacher, being with those kids is so tiring. Singing and dancing are much more liberating."

The little pink girl complained beside him, already lying next to him without any regard for her image.

"This is a step you must take on your path to politics. Sufficient supporters are needed to make you the head of state of a country. Of course, you can also take another path."

Lacus knew what the other path Garfield was referring to was.

To learn from some orange cat and create a large number of combat robots as the main fighting force, while she herself would be the supreme leader and achieve imperial dictatorship.

"No, Lacus thinks humans are better than robots."

Garfield silently replied.

I support the robot team.

"Robots do not know fatigue, can fight twenty four hours a day, are cheap and can be mass produced, and can replace damaged parts on the battlefield without causing excessive pressure on the enemy in the later stages. They do not need oxygen or to consider gravity, and most of their parts can be recycled after they are destroyed, so they will not cause families to break up."

Lacus was very unhappy with the series of reasons why robots were so good. "But humans have hearts. They know what they should and should not do. They can communicate and change tactics according to the battlefield situation. Robots are dead. They do not know how to adapt."

Garfield replied. "Those are ordinary low end cannon fodder robots. The real commanders are highly intelligent command robots with thinking abilities. And to prevent robot troops from having monotonous tactics and not knowing how to adapt, I have also configured clone commanders."

"Clones are immoral."

Garfield sighed and told Lacus. "Do you know how cruel space war is. It is easy for a planet and a race to be wiped out. You can only choose between clones and extinction. And clones know that they are clones. After they are injured, they can choose to transfer to logistics, retire, and live their own lives."

Lacus fell silent again.

She had known the cruelty of war since she was a child.

After watching those war documentaries, she felt that this was true.

Otherwise, she would not have inherited the will of her father's pacifist faction.

"Can different races not communicate."

Garfield told her helplessly, "The entire universe is like an expanded ecosystem where the strong prey on the weak and the fittest survive. This is the ironclad rule of species evolution since ancient times. Moreover, some species are naturally aggressive and will kill all hostile creatures, including their own kind. Sometimes, other races are just another kind of food in their eyes."

Lacus looked curious. "Are all of these true."

Garfield described to her the war between the Zerg, humans, and Protoss, as well as the worldview of the Terran, Zerg, and Protoss factions.

Lacus was stunned after listening.

"There are creatures like this in the universe. My god, bugs that can bite through battleship armor."

Garfield said, "They do not need oxygen. They are not afraid of the extreme temperatures of space. They do not feel pain. They are not afraid of death. They obey only the highest orders of their swarm. Their numbers are always in the hundreds of millions. That is the Zerg swarm."

After Garfield's explanation, Lacus was shocked.

It took her a while to recover and she asked Garfield worriedly, "The Zerg swarm is so terrifying. Does it exist in our universe. Will we be threatened with death in the future. If we count hundreds of millions, can PLANT defeat the Zerg swarm's attack."

After thinking about the world of Gundam SEED, Garfield reassured Lacus. "Do not worry. Your universe is not currently home to such powerful Zerg swarms. Even if they do exist, they are somewhere in the universe. There are not any natural wormholes near the solar system, so they would need sufficient technology to come to Earth. As for colonizing via asteroids, the solar system and all asteroids that have passed through it are monitored. If they pose a threat to your colonies, the military will naturally deal with them in advance."

After Garfield's comforting words, Lacus felt much better.

She firmly remembered the Zerg swarm and secretly vowed that if she ever gained power, she would build a sufficiently secure firepower network for the colonies.

Later, Lacus shared some of her doubts about the modified Old Ma's ideas and some of her own thoughts with Garfield.

Garfield provided answers, and Lacus pondered them herself.

The day ended like this, and Lacus continued along her planned path.

Although she was still young, under her father Siegel Clyne's arrangement, she was already a well known campus pop star within PLANT.

Lacus's life was busy and stressful, with occasional performances arranged by Clyne to attend.

Under Garfield's offensive with his High Claw gold bricks, the High Claw Group had recruited scientists from almost every industry imaginable.

This no holds barred offensive resulted in some technologically advanced products that surpassed current market offerings, attracting the attention of PLANT and the Earth Alliance.

Through procurement and cooperation, the High Claw Group successfully became a supplier of certain high tech equipment to both factions.

While Garfield secretly prepared, the High Claw Group began infiltrating both groups.

Garfield did not use so called machine brainwashing, but rather a simple and effective approach.

Psychological suggestion, magical mind control, and contracts.

This three pronged approach ensured the stable operation of their organizations.

As Lacus's double, the butler told Garfield that Meer had entered Siegel Clyne's system as planned, and at the butler's urging, Meer had undergone semi public training.

This semi public training meant that Meer and Lacus learned and trained together in a situation known only to Meer, Lacus, Siegel, and a few others, including the butler.

Later, during a dance class, Garfield accompanied Lacus and saw Meer Campbell, who was significantly more developed than Lacus.

He then planned to speak with her alone.

Meer Campbell, a simple minded girl, developed even greater admiration and liking for Lacus after being subtly influenced.

She was thrilled to learn that she would become Lacus's political double and could substitute for Lacus in performances under certain circumstances.

Today was another opportunity to learn dance with Lacus.

After the teacher's guidance, Meer and Lacus had their usual friendly interaction before parting ways.

As Meer was changing clothes to leave, Lacus's orange cat approached her.
