As Lady Bestie kept floating on the ocean surface, scanning the water for any sign of a clue, I couldn't help but ask, "Lady Bestie, do you know how much time has passed back at the Empire? Since we, you know... ran in the opposite direction of the sun?"
"Hmm... don't worry, dear," she replied soothingly. "It has only been a day and a half. Once the seven days are up on the other side, I'm certain my hatchling will come to get you right on time."
"Ah, I see... Not that I'm worried about it, though!" I quickly clear my throat and offer a sweet, reassuring smile. "Just, you know, remember the pill thing, okay?"
"Haha, I have it completely in mind, dear," Lady Bestie chuckles, her soft voice echoing warmly. "I will give you a pill when it is about to be three days. We still have one full day and a few hours left before the first one wears off."
