As we fly over the endless ocean, Lady Thalassara keeps chatting with me warmly, her sharp eyes constantly scanning the vast surface below.
Her vision is definitely sharper than anyone could possibly comprehend, so I don't even bother squinting at the waves. Honestly, I have no idea what kind of "movement" or anomaly they all felt in the ocean anyway, so I leave the tracking to the expert.
Around evening, as the brilliant gold of the sunset begins to bleed into deeper twilight purple, Thalassara asks softly, "Do you wish to sleep, dear?"
"Well... it's fine," I reply, leaning comfortably against her neck. "Talking with you is doing a great job of keeping me awake."
"Still, don't push yourself, okay?" she counsels gently. "We might reach the center of the ocean by midnight."
"I see. I don't mind staying awake until then."
"If you do get sleepy, feel free to rest," she coos. "I will make sure you don't fall into the ocean like a fallen angel."
