Master Borin quickly pulls the heavy canvas back over the gleaming metal, his eyes darting to the door. "You can take them today," he says gruffly. "The sooner they're out of my shop, the sooner my neighbors stop thinking I'm harboring rebels."
"Great!" I say, feeling a surge of adrenaline. I turn to Grandpa. "Grandpa, have our men take these today as soon as possible. We need them at the site before sundown."
Grandpa Eldric nods, his expression shifting into commander mode. "I'll signal the transport team. They'll be here within the hour."
I turn back to Master Borin, my smile sharpening. The pipes were just the beginning—the easy part. Now comes the real challenge. "Now, Master Borin, if you remember what I said about the other thing you have to make for me..."
Borin's Adam's apple bobs as he gulps. He looks like a man who knows he's about to be asked to do the impossible again.
